Thanks so much for the comment. I thought the same when I made this video. Easier to figure out when you can understand the principles of how film shrinks. Thanks again.

Dude, this is the best explanation on here. I've watched so many videos on this and have tried so many times. The explains what I'm doing wrong. Also I noticed you didn't do the "H" pattern. I like it. I'm going to give this a shot. Thank you!

Sweet. I'm super happy this helped. I've seen a lot of great shrinking content but none seem to cover these details. More to come. Stay tuned. Thanks so much

This video was great! Thanks for really breaking down how to properly shrink and what to really look for when shrinking. Not many videos actually show how the film shrinks or where beginners should look.

Thanks for watching. And thanks for the feedback. I know there’s a lot of good content but I’m trying to cover things most may not. I appreciate it. More to come.

I think I know why you can only shrink it in one direction.
It's because of the way the film is manufactured. As it goes through the various processes and rollers at the factory it's slightly stretched. As you apply heat, it naturally wants to unstretch but it can only do that in one direction since it was only stretched in the one direction.

This is a fantastic point! Thanks! That actually makes a lot of scientific sense.

Kevin good job on explaining which way tint will shrink...my theory is that the tint is being pulled or stretched as it's made or being rolled on the tint tubes...thus not leaving any material to shrink...who knows only the tint company rep who reads this might throw in the explanation...
After tinting since the early 90's n hanging up my pouch n olfa blade...back in the two piece defroster cut days to make it look like a one piece an art...I catch your videos n try to keep my two cents to a minimum ense my shop nickname 2cents...Will throw a bone every now n then...I whore "jersey brown gloves" to push the tint fingers down n keep my hands from getting burned...didn't like the hard card to risky to get a crease as your push down the finger...and you could put the baby powder inside the glove to tap it on the back window to dry shrink...ok...great times at Custom Sounds SA,TX,USA...

Great content, very informative and you do a great job at explaining why you do certain things. What quality film do you suggest a beginner tinter to use that is cost efficient but decent enough quality that isn’t bs? Or in this industry do you have to pay to play and learn with the costly film?

I buy my film from Tintdepot.com. Top tier films. I stock their Superior Charcoal, HP Charcoal and Ceramic Xtreme. If you’re looking for a decent film that’s budget friendly, I’d recommend their NR Charcoal. 5 year warranty. And shrinks great.

Nice vid bro, thanks for sharing. What's the size of your peel board? & what kind of base or supports are you using to hold that board on the wall?

Thank you. that a 4ftx6ft glass held to the wall with mirror J channel from Home Depot. I used one on the top and the bottom then slid the glass in. I plan to pull the top channel off and just use mirror holders so it's easier to remove if needed.
