Can’t wait to hear this going on a Hawaiian cruise in a few weeks so I’m all ears! New sub as well!

On our last cruise from Tahiti, in 2023 we had an extra day in Honolulu and drove around the island. The homeless were everywhere. The gorgeous beaches were littered with homeless camps. One guy actually ran a hose from one of the bathrooms out to his fenced off beach front tent condo. A lot of things have changed in Hawaii since our Pride of America cruise in 2017. It appears that the government there are not attempting to curb any of it either.

We were there in May 2024 ,and though we saw some homeless folks ..they were not very visible by day…you actually had to look for them …I think they are told their camps must be hidden behind trees, shelter,or bridges etc ? And those who were on the streets that we may have passed, were very polite for the most part …
Sadly this is happening world wide now …

Did you go through the coffee field and how they roast the coffee? Did not have brewery when I went. Did you go to the Macademia nut factory? It was also great. Bought a 6 pack of nuts and it was the cheapest place I found. Also a short day. Also had to tender in. Boardwalk wasn't really there.

We unfortunately did not get to the coffee field or Macadamia nut factory. There just was not enough time for us that day. That is something we would like to do on a future trip. - Natalie

I know you stated the beer was very reasonably priced. It is made locally. Also why kona coffee, and macademia nuts are cheaper than in the lower 48. Coke was cheaper than pepsi as there was a coke bottling plant and not a pepsi plant. Everythang has to be shipped into Hawaii. That makes it a very expensive place to live. That also waises some of the food prices. On oahu the cheapest but best place to eat was at the walgreenslunch counter. Food was great and they searved alot of food that was grown on that island.
