Great job with the details of this. Like you, I spent a lot of time looking at wiring diagrams when I installed this wheel and controls on my 08 FSXT a few years back. FYI, in the 3 pin connector you have 1 and 3 designators reversed when you are referencing the B236 connector (but as you mentioned, it doesn't really matter as it's just a loop with different resistors for different buttons). Lastly, in my 08 turbo the 3 pin connector (ST3) is actually used for the cruise control, so you can use that to source the connector and make it a little cleaner install. Great work overall though! For others looking at this video, my 08 turbo (SG9 instead of the SG5 of this video), didn't require me to go in and modify the internals of the cruise control switch, so it's a bit simpler.
do you know if an 06 impreza would require modifying the cruise control switch? I just bought a 2010 impreza wheel and am gonna start working on it tonight
Please tell me you can assist me, i bought a legacy GT steering, I just want to connect the radio, i only have one spare wire/pin in my setup. which wires do i run for just the radio (SW+) like jrobling
@@NickPa777 Hello there. I am in the same boat with the SG9. Were you able to find out where the 4 empty pins on the green connector lead to? The 1st of the pin in the green one is hooked to my air bag. The rest is empty.

mate your battery terminals are filthy. But full praise to you, I did this a few years ago for my XS adding an XT wheel for basic wheel controls, and yes it took a while to work it out. I do have some forester wiring pdf files and they helped. but man it was a pain.
Pretty nice video. I installed the facelift steering wheel from the one you have. Mine also has the phone control buttons. I also made a tutorial for mine and i remember it was a lot of research and testing, but a pretty nice project, you can watch it on my channel. I was thinking of changing it again with a 2015+ model, but those are super expensive.😅
I did it on subaru xv 2014. The wires do go to the main connecter of the old car radio. Sr- goes to ground an SR1 and 2 can direct connected to the aftermarket android car radio.
