  • Niger Considers Oil Export Through Chad, Cameroon Amid Dispute With Benin | Firstpost Africa
Niger is looking at partners to re-route its China-backed pipeline. It is mulling cooperation with Chad and Cameroon while a deadlock with Benin remains. Niger has also been facing severe internal security challenges that have disrupted the pipeline operations. The nearly 2000-kilometer pipeline was built and is operated by a Chinese firm- the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). The pipeline begins from the oilfields in Niger and ends at the Seme port of Benin. As Niger is a landlocked nation, it needs Benin's help for its exports amid a diplomatic standoff. While The Junta-led Western African nation also faces internal security challenges. Rebel groups who want the ousted president to be back in power are now fighting the military. Just last week, a local rebel group attacked the oil pipeline and threatened more attacks if a $400 million deal with China is not cancelled.

It’s so sad that your own brother is probably paid by the West to trip you up like this. It’s disappointing. These are the leaders Cpt Traore always refer to as western spies.

@@badgyrl310I am telling you, some africans are jealous of other countries ressources. And they dont want other to develop and in the case of benin, le président of that country was planning to steal Niger’s oil

You want to use my land to lay a pipeline to convey oil from your territory to my port in order to facilitate your business with others, but you don't want to sell the oil to me. I will secure your pipeline right from the top, down to the port with virtually no benefits. Who would agree to do that ?? Basically, no one.
I don't hate Niger, but I wonder why no one sees anything wrong with the move of Niger. That's absolutely unacceptable. Niger is doing so in the interest of its people anyway. Benin is also a sovereign nation with reserved right to defend itself and do what will benefit its people. And I absolutely agree with Benin on this one. If we want to move forward as Africans, we should stop fooling others. Everyone deserves respect.

No my friend. I understand your anger but please separate a foolish president that is an international criminal from ordinary citizens of Benin. I am Togolese but I don’t like Talon even I am from the south. We need Africa to unite. How can we do it with foolish like Talon? Also how can we achieve our objectives with thought of revenge against ordinary citizens? Let properly direct our anger to the person in fault. I understand you and I am asking you to make the distinction.

Both Chad and Cameroon are still in the grips of their 6th decades of Francafrique neocolonial subjugation.
Who is going to argue otherwise?
As such Niger is still going to face the same obstacles dealing with those French neocolonies as they do with Benin.
Niger is better off looking to route their oil through Mali to Morocco…
