Vinyl tiles work even better. Helps so if there is a leak it won't warp the wood
I removed everything from under my counter. Place my favorite cutout of a calendar in the base back n sides. And now I admire the scenery of flowers grass n scripture.

Don't put sticky paper . Will ruin your cabinet.
Didn't ruin mine even in last house...actually protected wood from oils and such...been using for years. Also depend on what kind you use😉
