Hi Grandpa Carl and Happy New Year. After all the time you have reacted to Angelina, I was surprised that you did not know why she takes her shoes and socks off while singing! Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may makes many people emotional. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even stated at 8 years old that she would be donating her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing a special bond.
You need to learn the TRUE reason why Angelina consistently goes shoeless in her performances. It has nothing to do with being “grounded.” She even wrote and published a book about it at age nine called “Between Two Hearts,” making her the youngest published author in Norwegian history. I know it’s been written about and explained by numerous commenters in your earliest reactions to her.
