Hey! I’m 65 now but made an A in horseshoeing in collage many, many years ago at Northeastern A&M in Miami, Oklahoma!😂. I’ve driven by your grandson’s farrier school many times! P. S. I was the only girl!
I'm so excited that you're making chili, Talli Faye! I can't wait to see how you make yours! I just made my first chili of the year. Hamburger, onion, celery, fire-roasted 'maters, pintos, garlic, oregano, a little thyme, chili powder, cumin, garlic & onion powder, a little water to make it juicy, and of course S&P 500 as I love to call it! Just spicy enough and it goes great with whatever bread or crackers I feel like pulling out. So warming, filling, & EASY. Sometimes I put a little unsweetened chocolate powder to deepen the flavor profile. It sounds crazy but you can't taste the chocolate...just the richness.
I drain my meat also, Talli! We used tohave a meat market in town that people just raved about. I finally decided to go get some of their ground beef. Made some spaghetti, our mouths and lips were coated with that grease. Whew!!! I didn't go back there. I made up my mind from then on to drain and even rinse my meat. Have a blessed day. 😊😊😊😊
What do you mean by, "rinsing" the meat? I certainly hope you don't mean rinsing with water. In addition to losing flavor, that grease will build up in your pipes. Just drain it as she showed, and if that's not enough for you, layer paper towels on a plate and dump your drained meat onto them to absorb more grease.
Don't know your thoughts on this, but I have friends from a large family that added whole kernel corn and some sugar---- it is delicious. Thank you for this video. I love chili😊
I see u did decode to add beans, me too, i like them. I make it just like u, except tomato juice instead of water , snd we eat ours with peanut butter on our crackets!! Luv ur cookin style. 16:51
Talli Faye. Chili is one of my favorite things to eat. I make my own fairly often. I actually pressure can my own beans. I love pintos and small red beans in my chili. I use the same spices liberally. That is the only thing I do liberal like. I love all kinds of peppers. I probably use at least 12 kinds of peppers whether it's dry or fresh. I love looking at recipes and trying new things. I will be tempted to do what I think but I will try it your way.
New subscriber here & Im just loving your channel❤ My first love has always been nursing with cooking sliding into a close second lol. I so enjoy cooking from scratch & trying new recipes, I have my own little greenhouse & I grow my own herbs & veggies (& numerous types of peppers & tomatoes, heirloom being my fav)I feel like I share & show my deep seeded love for my family thru cooking them homemade meals, one of the things I still do even tho my daughters grown with a family of her own, I make sure we have dinner together as a family as often as I possibly can, I don’t skip too many days without getting everybody to sit down at our dinner table lol. I’m also loving your recipes ❤❤❤ I cook my chilli so much like you do except mines a little on the spicy side, my bunch loves the spice, including me haha. God bless 🙏

I like to add chili sauce to mine, but when I can’t find it in my local Aldi then I do use a lil bit of ketchup cuz you def need that lil bit of zing 👍🏻
@@debiarmstrong1361 I like to use the ranch style beans… I usually drain them so it doesn’t make the pot liquor taste like bean juice… that way you have the chili with bites of bean… not a pot of chili beans… I only added two regular size cans to that five pounds of meat…
Oh my goodness, you forgot one of the important things!!! 😊😊 A peanut butter sandwich to dip in the chili! 😊😊 That's something I've done since first grade, that's the way the school served it. 😅😅

Hello sweet lady
My Dad always said that fat was where all the flavor is! He didn't want my Mama to dump ANY of it.
How was it just right on the heat and you add more?

That needs BEANS!
If you watched at the end, it did wind up having beans in it. Lol
