I'm ex-LDS but have never had any gripes with the church. This reminds me of how absolutely Mormonism is and can be...it holds its own among the great religions of the world and has a particular, and particularly beautiful message of which it can and should be proud.
Yeah except for the blasphemous fictional scripture part.

Good shots of the temple. I visited Nauvoo in 1973, long before the temple was built. I did find the music annoying with all the prophet worship. If Joseph taught us nothing, he taught us that the heavens are open to all, and that our focus should always be on Christ.

That is a fabulous flyover video you put together, on a simply gorgeous building that can doo a lot of good for people fortunate enough to go inside of it. But since you filmed this in February I would guess that time of year very few attend this temple. People in the Midwest don't travel as much in the wintertime and as much I'd love to go then I don't want to be the only one attending at the time. Are there almost as many there during winter as during July when the pageant is held?
No, the summer tourism does indeed affect attendance. We are grateful for the visitors. :-)
Tony I'm curious is there much going on at Christmas time other than being able to attend the temple?

Is this temple built on the same spot as the old one?
It was restored because the first one was destroyed, but they made the same design as before🌹

I always laugh at paintings depicting Joseph standing in front of the completed Nauvoo temple. The day he was murdered, the walls were only completed to the first floor. The church at large didn't want to complete it after his death. Brigham Young decided they were going to.

With more than $ 100billion squirreled away, I would expect them to have something nicer---BTW, how much longer are the Mormons going to continue seeing their money go to Salt Lake City ?
It was built to original 1840's design... the Mormons are the first to help people all over the planet.

Why should we praise the man Joseph Smith?

How do you test a prophet?
Deuteronomy 18:
21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
I hope that the LDS church never does what the RLDS did...I hope they never go "mainstream" and repudiate their unique message and all the beauty it holds.
They're already doing that. No longer is the Book of Mormon considered an historical book of scripture. Due to the recognition that there isn't any historical proof behind it, the book is fast becoming just a book of scripture (Gods words to people) in a fictional setting. BYU scholars have known this for a long time...yet we can't teach it in our classes. It's talked amongst us/-them.

Nice Amateur video. Some tips for a better video. 1) film the Nauvoo Temple a different time of the year when the grass is greener, or when the trees and shrubs have blossomed. The grass in this video was more brown that green. There were few flowers in bloom that could be seen. 2) Take some classes on editing, or employ a smoother camera. There was too much jerkiness from the camera. It takes the viewer out of the experience.
I have been there....just one time! That is the first time I ever felt pure evil, so strong it nearly knocked me down. I had to get away from there and I did.

When you seek answers from the Book of Mormon instead of the Bible, God can't help you because you have turned your back on Him. Therefore this leaves the door open for Satan (II Corinthians 11:14-15) to step into your life with a false christ or prophet showing you signs and wonders to lead you away from the real Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity.
God Himself warns us about this in MATTHEW 24:23-24 "Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ! or There! do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect..."
Mormons teach and believe that their jesus is the brother of Satan, which contradicts what God says in His Bible that Jesus is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity.
So Mormons, which Jesus do you believe in?
A. Your jesus of the Book of Mormon, who is the brother of Satan.
OR
B. The Jesus of the Bible, who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity.
Very sad... So many deceived people follow this cult. I would not be sharing video of these temples myself.
They are very good people with a religion that works for tens of millions.
