Dominick kept it real here, regardless of the topic. That's one thing I admire about him, he says it as it is, open honesty. Not many fighters are willing or have the courage to speak their minds.
+Pickle agreed. pity he explains misfortune in life with odd superstitious notions, though! "god" wasn't "taking his opportunities away, to teach him lessons" because his quad got injured -that's just silly! but in terms of fighting he is quite brilliant..
+Pickle Sometimes it takes a different experience in life for you to learn certain things.....he's even said it before that he learned things while he was hurt he could have never learned when he was still fighting.... so yes he missed out on money and fighting but then again life's not always about those things.....
Roy Johnson ya i get it... just surprised that such a smart, analytical, irreverent and confrontational guy doesn't see through the notion that there is an invisible puppet master deciding to strike him down with injuries for some greater good... as common a way as it is to try and make sense of life, it is plain silly.
Dominic actually covered almost every issue needed to be addressed in the mma world in such a short span of this interview. Shows how much knowledge he has not just as a fighter but the external environment around him. Now tts a fighter at another level.
I guys I'm Pedro from Portugal and i want, first of all, to congratulate all u people in mmafsbn, you have a great channel here, and second to praise Dominick Cruz. For all those who love mma this guy is the ultimate athlete, beside being a very intelligent, communicative and innovative individual and fighter, he has one of the most fascinating stories in sport. Keep it up kicking some ass Cruz.
Dominick doesn't just have a great mind for MMA, he has a great mind overall, and one of the most purest outlooks on life. I yelled so loud when he reclaimed the Bantamweight strap from Dillashaw. I'm a Cruz fan for life.
wow you could really tell he is trying to be a revolutionary in the game, talking about the evolution of the sport in terms of fighters and media was awesome.
I didn't like Cruz at first back in the day.. but for him to get 2 massive injuries, lose everything he worked SO hard for, then come back a few years later, fight for what's his, come out victorious from all that he went through is not only inspiring, but it's a TRUE champion, he walks and talks without ego but with pride and says exactly what real champion should say. I'm injured myself and this is a prime example for me to follow with on the inspiration. Well spoken as well. I was a huge fan of Urijah and T.J... still am. but Cruz got them both beat inside and out of the ring and person and a champion. Definitely going for Cruz in this upcoming fight hands down.
I gotta be honest - before he got the Fox contract I didn't much care for him. With that contract he's grown on me significantly. The boy has a head on his shoulders that is unmatchable. He's easily the most intelligent fighter the sport has and it's worthwhile listening to him. Keep truckin Cruz!
+Adal Kidane Same here! ... I always think to myself, if those 2 guys really got to know each other they would probably end up being good friends ... but hey, there might be something that they see in each other that they just can't stand, who knows? lol.
Intelligent, eloquent and obsessed. But if Cruz thinks he hasn't got an ego, i'd beg to differ. His ego helps make him the best. The fact Faber choked him out still riles him.
LOVE WHEN CRUZ AND FABER GO AT IT....DOM BACKS EVERYTHING UP WITH LOGIC....FABER: DUDE YOU DONT FINISH PPL AND I CHOKED YOU.....CRUZ: YES BUT I ACTUALLY WIN FIGHTS AND WIN BELTS....FABER: YOU HAVE 1 FINISH. faber knows he hasnt got a leg to stand on (especially when hes fighting aldo lol)
Think about this, if weigh ins were the day of the event it would change the entire landscape of MMA. In theory everyone would move up 1 weight class at least. Healthier fighters, a lot less fighters gassing by start of 2nd round
It could also result in a lot of events being cancelled. Though I get your point, fighters will still try to cut and take advantage, which could lead to disastrous effects and cancelling events. Can't risk that!
I never said Urijah would win, but Cruz won't demolish him. I like Faber more since he was the first fighter I watched, but Cruz is a lot more egotistical than Faber. You can tell Faber gets underneath his skin. By the way, Urijah put up way better fights against Cruz than Dillashaw. Dillashaw didn't even show up and Cruz just ran the entire time. He looked more damaged than Dilla did by the end of it
Yea Cruz is right, someone like DJ loses everyone jumps off the bandwagon and loses interest (Us hardcore fans will still be interested) But Conor and Ronda can lose even lose again and still the masses will show up. And if you "talk" you cant regress and be pc, Conor loss but has yet to hide away and shut up, he knows that wont benefit him
I suspect that he keeps getting injured due to his fighting style. His movements are so jerky and changes directions so abruptly. What makes him so evasive could be going against human physiology. .
Yep thats why he is having these acl mcl tears which basically stop your knee from over extending or over flexing in sudden movements.. Its like a rope holding your thigh to your leg, if you extend it too much and sudden it might snap.. Its so sad man
Domoinck Cruz is awsome. His a very smart person and an extremely select few type of person and as Firas said 'one in a million' Proof? See the statistics of NFL players quitting after ACL compared to Cruz on the BJJ scout breakdown
Great insigt by one of the greater fighters in mma , imagine this guy being 6'2 225 pounds He eould kill the heavyweight division and be the fkn goat . That skill set fighting IQ and then size power and strength maaannn whoaahh .
Jorge Suarez there is no way to know if cruz could do it if he was 225. Imo he cant. True there are big guys who are swift and light on their feet. Tyson was another fighter who was so quick despite being built like a tank.
Promote this man. He's the perfect combination between the extremes of talking the talk and the walking the walk.
He's a well spoken individual.
👌
+Jocelyn Clervil really wise too.
+Jocelyn Clervil he doesnt get hit
+datguy729 That's smart. That's the name of the game. Hit and don't get hit.
+Yair Sasson Art That's right.
Dominick Cruz is probably my favorite dude in the MMA community.
I counted 4 inspirational quotes from Cruz in this video alone
+Aquil R
for real! i watched the interview and was like...is he giving a TEDtalk?.haha!!
Cruz is the most articulate and engaging fight personality there is. Love his insights.
I like to hear him speak. Likable guy.
Cold and calculated Cruz
He is well-spoken and his voice is quite pleasant to listen to. A totally cool guy. Love him.
I like hearing Cruz talk. Best of both worlds. He's intelligent, articulate, and can fight.
I like seeing you smile :) I'm not supposed to flirt on the internet though...
Creepy much
Dominick kept it real here, regardless of the topic. That's one thing I admire about him, he says it as it is, open honesty. Not many fighters are willing or have the courage to speak their minds.
Completely agree. Pleasure to watch his interviews
That woman's fake smile in the back at 13:15

Hes such a mature guy he speaks the truth all the time! i love cruz for sure my fave fighter ever and his footwork is just immense!
How can you not respect Dominic?
True class act.
This dude reminds me of an evolved Neo.
p4p smartest fighter in the UFC. It would be awesome if he had a podcast or at-least was a guest on JRE
+Pickle agreed. pity he explains misfortune in life with odd superstitious notions, though! "god" wasn't "taking his opportunities away, to teach him lessons" because his quad got injured -that's just silly! but in terms of fighting he is quite brilliant..
+Julian Walker Yeah I was kind of surprised when he mentioned god 'testing him', but otherwise he's articulate and his fight IQ is great.
I'm actually starting to like Cruz, he seems very intelligent
Me too
+Cameron Bell he's the smartes fighter in the game in my opinion.
Paul noneofyabusiness Dude wtf?
+Cameron Bell
He's very cerebral that's for sure.
Marckus McNeil , dont mind him, thats usually what happens when you abuse meth
Dominick it will be a pleasure if youll have a episode with Joe Rogan Experience podcast...
The room would not be able to withstand the amount of logic
Well, you got it and it was every bit as insightful as everyone hoped it
Would be
you probably know this but he already has one.
I think guy in polo fell in love with Cruz during this interview ;D
+Jay Cuttler That's Patrick Wyman, former reporter for Sherdog and now Bleacher Report.
man i love this guy.. smart, confident and well-spoken.
Always love hearing the insight of Dominick hes an intelligent man.
The guy in polo shirt almost had tears in his eyes lmao
Dominick "inspirational" Cruz
A wealth of info from this interview. Great fighter IQ
Ingenious and dapper ! Gotta love him 💯
Dominick Cruz giving some deep life lessons here kids
I guys I'm Pedro from Portugal and i want, first of all, to congratulate all u people in mmafsbn, you have a great channel here, and second to praise Dominick Cruz. For all those who love mma this guy is the ultimate athlete, beside being a very intelligent, communicative and innovative individual and fighter, he has one of the most fascinating stories in sport. Keep it up kicking some ass Cruz.
Dominick is one of the most insightful and articulate fighters around. Love his media scrums.
Savage. Love Cruz.
Dominick doesn't just have a great mind for MMA, he has a great mind overall, and one of the most purest outlooks on life. I yelled so loud when he reclaimed the Bantamweight strap from Dillashaw. I'm a Cruz fan for life.
This guy is gnarly...its almost inspiring when he speaks.
Cruz for president
Simply poetry in motion
Dominic has gone up in my estimation after that interview. Nice to see an honest conversation in contrast the poor acting from rockhold/weidmann.
The guy has great verbal flow. Rare in this arena. Cooool.
Cruz is a smart guy the way he calm and handle the interview is great to watch
I agree Dominick well spoken...Good Luck on up coming fight bro
3:00 like TJ Dillashaw.lmao
Dominick Cruz you my friend are a beautiful person
wow you could really tell he is trying to be a revolutionary in the game, talking about the evolution of the sport in terms of fighters and media was awesome.
hes always in a zone in the ring and definitely when he speaks.
That was a damn good interview.
This guy 15:58 LOOL
Dominick Cruz, Luke Thomas, Brian Stann. Smartest minds in the game.
+Eric Haber you forgot firaz zahabi and greg jackson
+Eric Haber Cruz yes Thomas and Stann hell no
+Luc Fox curious why you think that about luke?
+Mattskito529 He has an annoying personality
Lanky009 oh i don't get that from him at all. he's very blunt which i enjoy. but to each his own
Exceptionally articulate.
great example of a man who works on himself physically and mentally and overcomes it all with the help of God. He is great!
this man is brilliant.
smartest ufc fighter right now
awesome! cruz definitely has the gift of the gab!
Cruz has got all his shits together. Every man, every fighter must learn from him.
cruz is the man, I like faber too he looks in good shape and he is up for it this could be a great fight
Cruz has always been my boy
MMA's Marcus Aurelius
Is becoming one of my favourite fighters
Cruz is just so articulate. I wonder how he never reached that superstar level echelon!
Dominick Cruz vs mcgregor, now that's a fight I wanna see
Cruz would dominate
+Audiotv both Cruz and Conor have some of the best footwork on the roster but I could possibly see Cruz winning by decision like he always does
+Thanos conor has no footwork..OK lol.
+Thanos so you're saying movement and footwork aren't the same thing? Lol
Conor will k.o Cruz cold he is small guy his shots will break him in half
I respect Cruz. He's very humble.
Good man Cruz. No point being bitter.
Cruz is no1 p4p speaking indivisual. Best
great, explanations. very articulate. i like what he says.
Just a shame the guy is one of the most boring fighters to watch. Seems a good guy though.
fuck man he is such a damn savage lol love lil DC!
I like Cruz and Faber so much! They're personalities are so similar that it's strange that they're not friends. Maybe if they weren't fighting...
+Adal Kidane
Same here! ... I always think to myself, if those 2 guys really got to know each other they would probably end up being good friends ... but hey, there might be something that they see in each other that they just can't stand, who knows? lol.
Cruz makes me feel silly when he talks and I like him for that. Love his fighting style too. All the best for Dom
This guy is a damn role model for sure.
I listen to his interviews when I have trouble falling asleep .
Dudes quite a
Brilliant mind. I learned a lot
Smart guy, great fighter.
Intelligent, eloquent and obsessed. But if Cruz thinks he hasn't got an ego, i'd beg to differ. His ego helps make him the best. The fact Faber choked him out still riles him.
I don't think he said he didn't have an ego. He noted that Faber's ego in particular, gets the best of him and holds him back.
nice speech he has
badass dude right there
I didn't like him for a while because Faber was my favorite fighter, but he's really a great champion.
legend
Some wise words here. Cruz is legit.
Cruz seems like a very intelligent guy
Speaks like a preacher
I'd like to hear him talk 10 years ago and compare.
Great mental role model.
Smart fighter right there
Fuck the belt! We want SUPER FIGHTS!
Who's the guy in the back?
hey, isn't that patrick wyman behind cruz?
cruz for president of the United states. .and the .u.f.c this guy is smart and we'll rounded good champion. .my respects
Highest fighter IQ? who else is close DJ, Jon Jones?? Thoughts
GSP
+Zach Wabason GSP won his fights by being the more athletic fighter.
Dj is all about his coach, he is the brain
Dada5000
+Adam s None of them
Love Dom!
dissed tj lmao
LOVE WHEN CRUZ AND FABER GO AT IT....DOM BACKS EVERYTHING UP WITH LOGIC....FABER: DUDE YOU DONT FINISH PPL AND I CHOKED YOU.....CRUZ: YES BUT I ACTUALLY WIN FIGHTS AND WIN BELTS....FABER: YOU HAVE 1 FINISH.
faber knows he hasnt got a leg to stand on (especially when hes fighting aldo lol)
12:43 Thoughts on red dress?
has to be considered as if not the best top 3 all time greatest champions. He came back from career ending surgery for fuck sake.
I place $100 every fight. never let me down.
thanks for the heads up man! I lmma do the same
That bit at around 3:35-4:00 is something new Rhonda should listen too all she does is complain
To*

Dominick will dominate and destroy Urijah!
Like he did the first two times??? Lmaooo
ReppeNThA707 Dominick beat Urijah at UFC 132 and he'll do it again, he's better, faster, and stronger than ever!
He looked more damaged than Dilla did by the end of it
+ReppeNThA707 did u see tj after the fight? both of his eyes were almost swollen shut
Brandonwun very true, but TJ didn't even have a good fight and Cruz still couldn't finish. He's a marathon runner just like Mayweather

Proof? See the statistics of NFL players quitting after ACL compared to Cruz on the BJJ scout breakdown
He looks like the alter ego of a super hero
Great insigt by one of the greater fighters in mma , imagine this guy being 6'2 225 pounds He eould kill the heavyweight division and be the fkn goat . That skill set fighting IQ and then size power and strength maaannn whoaahh .
if he was 6 foot 2 and 225 , he would not be able to move like he does now. at least not for 5 x5 mins.
+teetoo labalaba My response to that "Muhammad Ali"
Jorge Suarez there is no way to know if cruz could do it if he was 225. Imo he cant. True there are big guys who are swift and light on their feet. Tyson was another fighter who was so quick despite being built like a tank.
CRUZ!! REPRESENTING SAN DIEGO!!!
Weigh ins should be the day of the fight!
