Its so surreal to see a BN sd9 run in real life, since it was the first model railroad locomotive i ever got when i was 5 from kb toys, and i thought the colors made it look so badass.

It would be awesome to have the former Burlington Northern to pull a former Burlington Northern passenger car with a plat form with a sign that says Just Married!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for watching, and the comment! The classic, and tough look, of the SD9 is definitely sharp.
The Burlington northern GP9 took me and a ride I’ll never forget it was fun!!!
Thanks for the comment! I bet it was enjoyable to say the least. Old power sounds great!
That's an sd9
@@fiberrabit8229 I thought it was an AEM-7?
@@CrazyKaboose what?
The guy hooping up the orders was terrified LOL
Thanks for the comment! It was a fun photo charter, and the hooping was fun to watch too. :)
Excellent job on your video I enjoy watching thanks for posting
Thank you for the comment, I'm glad that you enjoyed it!
C&NW fans will recognize the second car of the passenger train as a former 400, 56 seat coach, one of two on the St. Croix Valley RR.
Thanks for the comment! Exactly, and great observation with that.

What a day that would've been!
Thanks for the comment! It was a fun day to be trackside, and shooting the BN power.
I was wondering if I'd ever see this, awesome!
Thanks for the comment! I finally got around to it. :p
Great catches!
Thanks for the comment, and I'm glad that you enjoyed it. It was a FULL day of shooting.
I got to go inside the SDP40 once. It looked awesome in there. Like seriously, I actually went in that engine once
Very nice.
Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
You should've seen that Old Cast P3 on 6234 (839) when I first saw it at the Jackson Street Roundhouse. Shiny beige paint with a bit of polish.
Thanks for the comment! What happened to that horn?
It’s still on 6234.

SDP 40 is now 325 it's former GN number when it pulled passenger trains up to the merger to form BN
oh wow! the SD9 has C&S on it!
that didn't get fully merged until 1980!
Thanks for watching, and the comment! You are correct; they were a subsidiary until then.
@@SD457500 until a year or so the C&S was still stenciled onto the High Bridge west of Cheyenne, Wyoming!

Is it in the railway museum?? Or the trains is the museum's collection??
Thanks for the comment!! Its part of their collection, and they run on these tracks. Their museum is in Saint Paul.

839 looks new. Freshly painted?
Thanks for the comment! No, just kept clean. MNTX 6234 got new paint in 2007, and had the 839 decals applied for this event.
Good job guys!
What is C&S? Thanks.
Thanks for the comment! C&S is Colorado and Southern.
@@SD457500 was that originally a C&S SD9?
@@Bob.W. Yes, it was and that was it's as built number. Its current number is the 6234, but got re-numbered to the 839 for this photo charter.

Is the sd 9 still running in 2020
Thanks for the comment! It sort of is; due to Covid, its stored, but in fully operational status as MNTX 6234.
Did they actually drop ballest?
Not in Osceola, later in the year the train was loaded and went to St. Paul, the empty cars were returned to Dresser the next year.
Are these railroads at a historical museum?
Thanks for the comment! Yes, these are owned and operated by the Minnesota Transportation Museum.
Nice.

Thanks for watching! That is true.
