I'm a 40-year student of this case, but I'm also a well-educated, state-licensed barber who knows there are very few hair types. It's been bothering me for YEARS that the hair samples found in Ted's car could or would be tied to specific victims. Hair is NOT like fingerprints.....it's even less specific than bite marks. I'm NOT defending Ted.....I'm just saying that a sample of MY or YOUR hair would match millions of other people. Just sayin'......
If the hair strand does or doesn't have a root on it, they can still run a DNA profile on it. In 2018, The National Library of Medicine announced: "Successful nuclear DNA profiling of rootless hair shafts".
@@AmateurHistorian999 No. They take blood/dna from the root. Lol. So when they say "Hair" what they really mean is they found DNA on the root of the hair. Believe or not but microscopic drops of blood end up on the root when it get's yanked out. Even lightly.

@@AmateurHistorian999 That's true and I do agree with you but what about all those desperate women who, despite the evidence, didn't get it? They fell in love with Ted and were adament that he could not be guilty. One even married him. They just didn't get it. Very odd....
His mother didn't even know and never believed in her sons guilt, that was right up until the last week of Ted's life, when in a desperate attempt to extend his life, he started admitting to everything to buy him more time.
"...body parts of the girls murdered in Colorado in Ted's car" Wow that's the first time I have heard of that! I wonder if that is true? I thought they didn't find anything in his car apart from the satchel containing the burglary tools and the removed seat, and maybe some hairs similar to the victims, but back then then they didn't have the DNA evidence to match the hairs to the victims.
Patrolman Bob Hayward discovered the satchel (aka Bundy's murder kit) during an early morning traffic stop in Grainger, UT. I think it was Jerry Thompson who did a more thorough search and found hairs belonging to 2 or 3 of the victims that Bundy failed to clean out of his car. He was never caught with the 6 or so severed heads he says he kept for a period of time.
Very dangerous kind of human being. Most evil people give off a vibe you pick up after a short time. This guy was very good at acting normal. People who had known him for extended periods had no idea what he actually was.
For me it’s hard to say. Bundy was a lone serial killer. Manson was a cult leader who had his followers do the killing. Both types of killings were heinous and cruel
For my money, Bundy is worse by far. As Carol pointed out, Manson didn’t actually kill anyone himself (not excusing him) not to mention the atrocities Bundy committed to the corpses of his victims.
I guess when he says body parts he means the girls hair. Right? I mean technically it is a body part. At least this guy didn't play stupid and he actually saw that there is no coincidence when it comes to this case. I mean having dead girls hair in your vehicle....(i have read that hair isn't actually a match to anyone specific but if they can narrow it down to a certain percentage of population then it becomes common sense) in glad this guy saw through ted pretty quickly. Most of Ted friends and family defended him even when it was so blatantly apparent that he was the killer.

I thought that matching hair samples is a standard forensic tool.

This friend should have been charged by not telling them about the escape,but him being white had a lot to do with it.
