I'm just amazed that 6 rib belt isn't slipping hardcore. That factory tensioner is the true hero of this story.
I just had one of these added to my 6.2 LS. 200 HP addition.
Nearly 800hp on just 6lbs of boost! Big power that's going to last.
It’s mostly due to cubic inch, the more cubic inch the less boost it will make. If this blower were on a smaller inch LS it would probably make 10 psi.
@@brendentosto5640 not only that, but it has high flow heads and a big cam
This is a built 427 it should make that much power, Raceprovenmotorsports has a video with a 6.2 on 8lbs of boost making this much power.
How about not ruining the video in the first comment. Jackass
There is something to that. I'm almost 600hp with a turbo Coyote on 5-6psi with the stock cams and heads. Even dropped compression to 9/1. I think a lot of it has to do with nearly 300cfm from those 4 valve heads.
I love how Pat thinks of the details in real-time by adding 2 psi of boost and using a smaller pulley to milk some extra ponies outta the LSX!
So glad y’all showed the supercharger guys some love!
Perfect timing on this!
Zip tie moments brought to you by PowerNation.
That’s so roadkill!! Haha
Keep doing these engine build videos I am enjoying it
OK, with that dad joke, I would LOVE to work with Pat as a mechanic
Seeing you guys use the fitech system makes me super excited to see what mine can do, I have a 03 lm7 with a complete fitech system
Pulley swap away from 900hp if you get 9psi out of that supercharger. It can easily go up if need be. High hp with the lower boost is nice though, probably last longer and be more street friendly.
they did good by having this young guy as the co-host
That’s awesome i agree we need more build videos like this
Great job on this project.
great work guys
Pat is our hero
I'm from a GM Family. My late dad plus he was a WW2 Navy vet, my late brother, and my late brother- n- law he was a Vietnam Veteran. My dad worked at Delco Battery, Muncie Indiana, my brother and brother- n- law worked at Fisher Guide, in Anderson Indiana. They would be proud of those awesome new Chevrolet power plants.
Sounds Great!!!!.........This IS, What I Need!!!
If Marc ever needed any motivation to finish that project, this definitely does the job...
An excellent video was beneficial information.
I love Pat's dad jokes. Totally stealing that one!
Can you guys do some daily driver builds using 87 octane?
For real. As cool as it is to see the big numbers, knowing they're using a really high octane race fuel makes the point moot. Most people aren't using race fuel in their builds unless it's a full on track car.
@@michaelbannan9972 trying to build high hp with low octane fuel just isn't smart. That is a quick way to blow shit up trying to push things on low octane.
87 octane doesn't have any business near a big power boosted setup.
Good job fellows
Get it installed!!!
I miss building engines. Lost my arm in a motorcycle accident. Please don't text and drive.
@@bigboreracing356 you're a real hero
OR drink and drive,,, Not worth it,,, sorry to hear of your Loss,R Kerr,,,
find out if you can have another attached to your body bro, its possible now..
It’s not impossible to do though. My families backyard mechanic has only one functional hand. With the occasional assistance, he does everything automotive. Mind over matter.
My old lady is missing parts too. Don't slow her ass down. Smoke a joint and worry less man.
Have to love the dad jokes!
Wow that engine.
One killer build, wish that was going into a trailblazer SS AWD
That's what the trailblazer ss should've came with from the factory
@@bethanyhaskiell9116 no too much
I would really love to see these guys do a Gen 2 LT1 build
I wish they would make an ls style intake for those.
Supercharger is the only way to go in my book😉
I need that motor in my 1980 Z28 camaro
motors are electric, cornfused you are
Really this early in the morning with BS you could not say nothing nice
I remember when I was kid using all hand tools and tuning by vacuum or by other means afr gauges work good for both N/A and boosted applications.
And they didnt cost a you a grand.
Pat's Dad jokes kill me!
Ear to Ear smiles!
Pat is my homie!!!!!!!!!!!
🥺 O' now I want one in my TJ or XJ... but...😱 it cost more than both of them together 🥴...
🤔 That's going to be quite the sleeper XJ you all have got in the works over there 😁👍
😊 Can't wait to see it hit the track for the first time
Rock auto doesn't have all the parts you need. It all depends on what vehicle you are working on and what year it is.
when rock auto doesn't have my 1901 model T brake pads... smh
Very cool!!!!!!!!!!! 💪👍🙂
Tire fryer would be an understatement. Would be more like tire vaporizer. If you manage to get even a fraction of that power down, that motor in an XJ would absolutely destroy everything from Chrysler. More power at literally half the weight.
That 427 would have gone better in my 85 El Camino sleeper.
Me gusta mucho este programa . Kisiera gue estos capitulos fueran en ESPAÑOL .
Did I miss it!!! What happened with the timing change when the charger got bolted on..? Didn't stay the same as aspirated I'm sure..... Right??
Looks like the smaller pulley gave it belt slip or couldn't keep up...the first run didn't have that power dip from 6500-7000....
It may have been in the springs as well but looked like slip...
I want one of those.
I have a question. When you talk pump gas, does it contain ethanol or is it ethanol free pump gas???
when i saw the canadian logo on the pulley at 8min15sec i was like yep better than made in china for sure!!!!
So were is the reat of the javelin build series?
Now it’s time to beef up the trucks frame, suspension and drive line to take all of that torque and horsepower. That engine makes enough to tear it apart.
"After the AMC fans brought out their pitchforks and torches, Detroit Muscle wisely decided to use the 304." Damn straight! Far too many, "went with a LS engine," builds. Even if it's a LSX, putting a GM engine in an AMC heresy. From my vantage point, only AMC should go in an AMC. And I would be totally behind a punched-out and/or stroked 401. Because AMC was the "little car company that could," and to use anything but AMC is disrespecting the legacy. AMC fans are a loyal crowd and will always pull for the underdog.
Yes because being slow is cool.
Hey Pat when are you going to put that Mopar on the dyno
I want this for my 65 Corvette Coupe !
You just cant beat good ole GM power. Best engines out there. Ls and sbc.
Id hope they would know how to make a sohc v8 at this point.
They aren't the best engines out there but whatever lol. Coyotes and condor/trinity v8 4v fords and 03-04 cobra 4.6 4v motors all can make big power with just boost on a stock long block with way less cubic inches than the 7 liters shown here. Doing it with 4.6, 5.0, 5.4 or 5.8 liters max is dope. Dohc + boost is like a cheat code. This thing is a built highly modified 7 liter lsx.
Need some larger diameter headers I believe, them glowing makes me think there to much back pressure. Not completely sure because of I’m basing from a turbo engine but to me it makes sense still with this being a boosted application
7:53 nice dad joke Pat
Came for the engine build, stayed for the awesome dad jokes.
It would be nice to see a 4.2-liter Atlas LL8 built to race like Falconer did
I want to buy that Jeep! Does Power Nation ever sell any of their project vehicles?
That is one expensive build. But very nice! 🙂
Soooooo cool 😎
How can a man be a ford guy when GM has all these badass ls engines?? Perplexing.
Because you're not paying attention. A Ford Coyote engine crushes this "badass" engine. Think not? Check their video.
U should have put this in that surburban build
awesome show.
Would like to see ya build a 450 with over 1100 bhp like the one teans am world wide made as tribute to their father
Can you readjust the necessary changes to put this build into a boat
What’s that entire set up cost ?my c5 2002 would love it
Heat exchanger? Intercooler..maybe?
You should have gone full party pulley, I wanted to see the coyote you all built versus this with the same boost to see if the two liters or four valves was worth more power!
Isn't inch pounds or pound inches the same thing and you divide by 12 to get foot pounds or pound feet?
always liked at least 10 to 1 compression with a boosted application because I can keep boost low and make great power.
I mean at the end of the day cylinder pressures are about the same either way weather it's higher boost lower compression or visa versa. It might keep iat down and make recovery time better and be easier to cool the blower but I don't think it's really much better on the engine itself but at the same time some blowers don't like to be ran at such low boost and perform more optimally at a higher boost level. Each blower has an efficiency island that you should try to stay within for best results and not go under or over that.
I’d love to see that with 10 PSI boost. 👍🏻
It would make about 875hp. It adds 22.5 hp/pound, with 650 as it’s normally aspirated base line. 650+225=875.
All this considering the blower could even move that much air in the first place.
What happened to the other guy with Pat? I think it was Mike Galley...
Does race gas with no tune for it do anything for your car?
@ 8:06 Made in Canada.
one thing I don't remember you people ever really discussing is what type of oil do you use in these high horsepower builds. Do you use just a normal oil like a Pennzoil that's rated for high hp or do you use a synthetic oil such as amsoil?
They run royal purple I have seen it in some vids
Race oils
As my ole Boss always said, "Ain't nothin that money can't fix" ! Why would anybody do this much for a 100 plus HP!? Funny thing is, I beat the crap out of supercharged vettes, in an LS1 powered RX7 that was stock! So, "THINK" about your bank role, and think about how to use it, because this ain't the best way! First worry HP to weight! Whatever you think, will kill your car before you even build it!
I missed the compression ratio of the engine?
mixing fuel to run 6 psi ???
Is this same as LS7 corvete engine??
Nice engine, I bought a rebuilt engine and been using Lucas high zinc 10/30 oil, can I continue to use it or do I need to change it to a different oil?
Go back to regular oil on the next oil change
Are they gonna put that Beast in that Jeep XJ?😁😁😁
It needs to go in a Tesla to piss off people who think they are saving the environment.
Power Nation*🌠 Engineering Workshop _ Best 🌠👍👍👍🌠🌠🌟🌠🌠.
Can anyone tell me, can you get 100 octane gas at normal gas stations in the U.S?
on 19.34 the big turbo dip, as many as 6-7 sec,....uhhh...
develop new, 4-valve cylinder heads
Hey Pat, what do you call a cow with a twitch?, Beef jerky. Lol
Ok. I'm taking that one.
7:50 best part..... geeeez. Whyyyyy
I think this proves two senerios. First, if you are building this for racing, go with a turbo charger. Second, the supercharged engine would be great in a street car, and there are different pulley combos to fine tune your engine.
Do you have a show about the newer dodge charger
They've done a Challenger with twins. Not sure about the Charger.
The bald eagles have flew
De stroke LS
That's an expensive way to reduce power
@@baby-sharkgto4902 try watch Richard Holdener
Wow
Tire fryer. 😂
I’m a HP Junkie, So I’d bump it up to about 8-10lbs of boost and let it ride... 🤟
Those AMC nutz are NUTZ. That LSX would be AWESOME in that Jav.
Why ruin it with a LS?
@@fairlanemuscle my rule is: LS swap anything and everything. If hotrodding is all about speed, an LS will get you there and its inexpensive and lightweight.
@@fairlanemuscle how do you make a Ford go faster?

Put a Chevy in it 😂😂😂
@@sethmaki1333 the hipsters in the comments section think being heavy and making 250 hpmis cool.
What kind of spark plug did you guys use? A Hot Plug or A Cold Plug
Cold, it helps with detonation due to forced induction.
Peep the 300 inline six they haven’t gone back to in such a long time :/
I have a question. Not much of a car guy, but I have a 2008 truck and I want to drop a ls427 into. What do you think cost would be for this type of engine?
More than the truck for sure, if anything do a summit pro LS 408 stroker with some reworked stock casting heads and call it a day💪🏼
Never heard anyone say pound inches I always heard inch pounds sounds a little weird
Can someone explain the 900 pens 🖊, cell phone, and glasses in his shirt pockets. Oh and don’t forget the tap measure to complete the Bob the Builder outfit 🥸
That's why I call him Pocket Protector Pat....😂😂😂😂
@@bigboreracing356 LOL didn't even catch that when typing.
It's killing me, so few episodes on the javelin, we need a update on what happened to it!
@@bigboreracing356 I agree, gm products don't rule hot rodding
@@leonardwalters154 it was on TV. A God awful paint job and a ridiculous looking stance.
the biggest issue here is that no one makes "new" products for AMC engines. All the product lines have not been updated or re-engineered for the last 30 years. Powernation works off manufacturers giving them parts to hype. There is just no money in AMC. And this is coming from a real AMC fan. I've owned and raced Javelins, Rebels, Matadors, the works. I've built AMC engines that do go fast. But the reality is that engineering for ICE's has come so far from AMC that it is crude and limited. A lot of engineering advances have been "backported" to the Chevy 350 (the classic small block) and GM continues to build newer and better engines.
Yes rock auto parts store is awesome AF and u can get ur parts really cheap but the shipping is where it will unalive ur wallet I bought a grill 4 an Oldsmobile paid 75ish 4 the grill but paid 61 bux just 4 shipping now know this I am NOT throwing any shade at rock auto cause they r awesome AF just need 2 figure out how to lower shipping costs
Could have put it in my 2002 Camaro SS. Engine is all stock
