yes just glazed over when you explained the whole lawyer thing and now I am thinking I would probably be terrible at bookkeeping because I'm not sure I would have been able to figure that out. :(
New here and I know I am late to the party of this video, but I have to ask an off topic question. Where did you get those window coverings you show at the beginning of your day?
I have a full time job and was hoping to do this as a freelance virtual bookkeeper on the side for a little extra money. Are there any types of clients that I don't have to regularly meet with or constantly have zoom calls with? I'm hoping to do the most of my work while I'm at my full time job
Check out my list of "30 best clients" there are definitely a lot you don't need to meet with regularly--I've found that you can basically set up your biz as you like (in most cases). Good luck!
So about, how much do you make with the 15 hours a week as a bookkeeper? I'm looking to start my own company and I need to make about 6k a month. I'm trying to gauge the hours I need to work.
Hi Danielle, no affiliate link, but here's where to get it: thepagecompany.com/collections/productivity-planner (I got it on a Mother's Day sale last year)
Hi Morgan. I am working on starting my bookkeeping business however, i have a 9-5 job and just started my part time as a bookkeeper at a small manufacturing company. would like to get started with the transition (from office job to working for my business) but dont have that much experience yet as i just started my bookkeeing job and on a part time basis. I see a lot of oppurtunities in my area. Would it be stupid if i present myself as a contractor already (and not as an individual looking for a job/ "employee")? On the other hand, im also thinking if i should cut my hours from my full time job to apply at different companies to do books as their "employee" for the meantime just to get more experience (so that i dont look stupid starting my own business w/o sufficient experience) and perhaps, switch my employment structure with the company from employee to contractor? But i feel that might be a lot of work and possibly complicated? Please let me know your thoughts.
Hi! Sounds like you're getting some good experience as you work on building your biz. I do typically recommend working as a contractor for clients. I talk more about it in this video: ua-cam.com/video/tm-Eo3tke0E/v-deo.html As for if your current employer would switch you, it's definitely worth talking to them about. The cons would be that you would lose the benefits as an employee (them paying more of your taxes, possibly healthcare, etc.) so it might be a hard mental switch. I think it's great to slowly build your business and then cut down your hours as an employee. Good luck with everything!
I’m wondering that too because 3 clients doesn’t seem like enough to take care of everything a house and 2 kids need. Perhaps her routine on this vid is just for 3 of her firms clients, but she has more.
Hi! Good questions! I estimate it would take about 15-20ish clients to make a full-time income as a bookkeeper--depending a lot on how big each client is and how much you charge (I go in to detail in this video: ua-cam.com/video/pePJ-WAHvVA/v-deo.html). I've always chosen to work only part time (and yes, my husband works full-time), and now my time and income is more than half filled by UA-cam, so I don't have as many clients. Hope that makes sense, let me know if you have other questions!

Hey Morgan, do you have an affiliate link for the planner? I want to start to use block scheduling.

That's a great question
Where did you get your block planner?
Hi Debi! Here's where to get it: thepagecompany.com/collections/productivity-planner (I got it on a Mother's Day sale last year)
Hey quick question. Do you have a niche or are you just taking any client on?
My niche is law firms! :)
@@FinePointsBookkeeping Thank you.
how did you hear about that job?
I need your help with the non-profit organization.
Hi Sofia! What's your question? Have you seen my video with an overview? ua-cam.com/video/CzxSFRetgDo/v-deo.html
Could you survive on your salary alone, or do you need your husband's income too?
I’m wondering that too because 3 clients doesn’t seem like enough to take care of everything a house and 2 kids need. Perhaps her routine on this vid is just for 3 of her firms clients, but she has more.
