There are a few other very good reasons to watch anime, and I don't mean goddamn waifus or hentai sh*t either. Gun X Sword is the best revenge story I have ever seen. Gurren Lagann is also pretty great. Code Geass is a great story of royal family drama and intrigue on an alternate Earth with giant robots. Legend of Galactic Heroes is an outstanding space opera. Yu Yu Hakusho is the very best fighting anime I have ever seen, period, and manly as f*ck. Impossibly Cautious Hero is hilarious, exciting and heartwarming at the same time. And that's only a few. There's a few new or recent shows in these last few years which are excellent, no matter whether you follow the hype or not.
