She is actually really good in the role if they would stop with the leftist themes. At first I was like interesting… Then as show progressed she began to stand out.
I honestly love Supergirl character wise. She is the most powerful of all of them but that does not make her arrogant or condescending. She is still so nice and tries to get all their names right.

It's canon that solar juiced kryptonians have it. So it's more of a plot hole. I get why they did it; to reintroduce characters while keeping focus on supergirl...but it's a poor idea lol
If you're looking for an in-universe answer Kara was taking pains all through this crossover not to freak out her new friends who might not be used to having Kryptonians around. Taking a couple of passes to 'remember' everyone would be right in line with that (though nothing holds a candle to her 'are you SURE about that' reaction to Oliver telling her not to hold back ;-) ). In reality of course it's a genuinely creative way to get the audience up to speed with characters they may not know and gives Melissa an excuse if she stumbles on anything seeing as how the crossovers are ridiculously busy for the main cast.
I love that in comics, branding and legacy are forces of nature. *Everyone* needs a callsign and a gimmick. Give a pyromaniac a flamethrower, he starts putting Heatwave on his business cards.
