@@alexislaine56 maybe in your dreams. Petrol is always faster than diesel because it puts the power down. Just look at Dyno.
Diesel is only good for driving a long time. If you drive in city it will consume and get clogged.

Amazing!! I’ve got the same car but with manual box. I previously had a Golf 7 with same engine and DSG. With a remap I could easily sit around 240kph

2010 i got a Ford Mondeo 2.2TDCI 155hp, i reached a topspeed of 240 on speedometer so i believe this VW can do 232kmh

Impressing performance for only 150HP. I once owned a Toyota Avensis wich had 27 HP more and didn't go over 210 on speedometer (199 on GPS). A dyno run revealed that the 2.2 D-CAT engine was severely underperforming with yielding only 141HP. The local dealer was unable to find any technical issues with the engine. Never ever again japanese Diesels for me! It's a fact that the Germans build by far the best Diesel engines. Reliable, economic and powerful :)
French diesels are the best.... German diesels can't pass a test it seems......

14 years ago i did on S Max 2 td 6 manual box average speed 200. From Brovarl to Bachivsk/Troebortnoe (kiev to border Russia), no body trust me. 340km for 1hour 40min.. About 40 litres of Diesel and 2 mm of front tires

I’m surprised they didn’t bother putting a governor on it. 142mph is the limit for this motor. My 2012 in-line 5 cylinder passat has done 148mph with governor removed

So....factory says top speed is 210km/h.....Does it match the gps?
speedometers has to show always few kph less than the car is actually moving because of european regulations

@@cephasmakuzva depends on the tyres as well, sometimes up to 100kmh they show more than you actually moving, but sometimes after 100kmh they are pin point, then after 200 they show different, seen few examples (drove) tested with GPS
@@CroIntr00X what youll find is if the car has the tyre on it that are the same sizes as fitted from factory the speedo will read slightly more than the GPS or bang on but never more. When the sizes get altered dramatically then you may start seeing the speedo read less than the gps but this is uncommon as manufactuers know changing the tyre size does this so usually make the speedo read less at the factory sized tyres emough to compensate for when people will put different sized tyres on the car.
@@cephasmakuzva drove few of these new tdi's, some speedos on them (at over 200kmh/) lied approx 15km/h!!!. When I was in VAG club, some Seats liked to show more than you go. Note that all cars were on factory tyre size.
I have the same car passat 2017 2.0tdi 150 ps and it is governed to 236kmh on the clock

these VW EA 288 Diesel engines perform much better than you expect....the 150HP version does the job already excellently, you do not need the 200HP version....
You push the pedal on this and you think 'Wow it's fast' then you look down and you're doing 60

If somebody could say this car has 360 Nm torque and 150 PS i'd say this can reach at least 240 km/h.Finally when i see the rev at 234 km/h i surprised a little because i think there are some rev to go.

with enough time in the world, and gear ratios small enough you can get the same result from a 85HP car :D of course the RPM is configured to be around 3200, as this is a diesel, cannot withstand 4-5000 for prolonged periods, so they have to set up a gear ration for the 200+ kmh range that enables it to drive there, if needed. just smart engineering, no wonders or magic.

I have seat leon 2016 2.0tdi 4drive dsg stage 1 230HP 500NM and top speed is around 235kmh...like it has some sort of VMAX lock... So the point is that even i dont know how can this passat achive top speed like this

VAG-Motoren scheinen immer noch gut nach oben zu streuen. Entweder der Tacho geht komplett nach dem Mond oder der Motor steht leistungstechnisch gut im Futter. Ich kann bestätigen, dass die 2.0 TDI zumindest im Vergleich zu japanischen Dieseln die reinsten Rennmaschinen sind, da wir diese Fahrzeuge im Firmenfuhrpark einsetzen. VW gibt ja gerne mal eher weniger PS an, während Japaner gnadenlos übertreiben. Avensis 2.2 T27 D-Cat: Angegeben mit 177 PS, gemessen mit 141 PS. Werkstatt meint, das wäre normal und im Rahmen. Tolle Wurst => nie wieder Toyota!
Die VAG Tachos gehen deutlich vor, wobei mit einem 75 PS Caddy Bergab im Windschatten bei mir 191kmh, und mit einem 95PS Polo Bergab 221 kmh laut Tacho das max. waren.

I have one of these (2017), can't wait to sell it. Great on highway, but on twisty roads it is like you're driving a ship. Not a fun car to drive at all, too soft in turns and to hard on bumps and way way to unresponsive. Maybe with 19" wheels and adaptive suspension would be better. 6,5/10
And it is so expensive it u buy it as new around 20k €

Physically not possible. There's an algorhytm for calculate the physically possible speed.. based on engine power and Air resistance.. i've calculated it for the 190HP Engine of Volkswagen Passat B8 and the physically maximum speed of this car just above 253 km/h ..

This is chipped... Its a lot faster than original 150ps, its easy and fairly cheap to chip wagen boxes
