This is a hypothesis and might not reflect the guests' thinking....but often the red carpet system is predicated on loaning designer gowns....if you're not a sample size (like 00-2) it's much harder to get a dress. If you're an actress who is a size 12 and just broke out in a role... You could end up buying off the rack and revealing that could be complicated on a 10 second red carpet interview.
Maybe now, but not back in the day. It was used as an elitist, class power play. It also diminished actors to their dresses, because the questions were just about that and not their role or anything else.
Exactly. I think it says something about the current generation of stars that Adele Dazeem will no longer audition for jobs, while an icon like Sally would. 😏
you do realize mrs doubtfire isnt trans. Its a guy that really wants to see his kids after his wife divorces him and if not he would barely see them. So he becomes desperate and dresses as a nanny. I never saw the musical. I heard about it though. I think it started as good maybe it was too much. Idk. But I saw the movie many times so. I also saw Idina in enchanted and frozen and other things. both are great
@@camara1194 because it says something without saying something. The person dressed IN DRAG (was always made clear) to blah blah blah and than it was figured out. If the movie and direction itself never associated the story line to a trans narrative than where is this subconsciously/concious association to it. She doesn't see she is being honest as she is probably more vapid than some would like to think lol
LOL this segment was an absolute train wreck 😂
I love Sally Field but she is getting old and needs time time think, it was to fast paced for her 😁
@@gregXxono the cards were stupid
Why is asking "who are you wearing" offensive? Isn't it fashion/red carpet etiquette to promote the designer you're working with?
Exactly but they can use their own name for to be sat at a busy restaurant. Hypocrites
Pretty sure it's not about that, but about how the question is asked as if one is wearing a person.

Yeah that confused me too
If Sally Field had refused to audition she would not have played Mrs Lincoln.
Exactly. I think it says something about the current generation of stars that Adele Dazeem will no longer audition for jobs, while an icon like Sally would. 😏
Well, she seemed to convince my first boyfriend he was Elphaba so let that be noted lol
Oye I love both these women soooo much
Idina pointing out Doubtfire was transphobic yes gawd

Mrs doubtfire isn't problematic. It's the suffocating around it that is.
i agree. I love love love Idina but I don’t think that’s a fair reason
