I can't express enough how refreshing it is to watch a video of Top10s, "The Best" or whatever and not be inundated by gaudy narration and humorless sidetracking jokes. Thanks for being a normal, entertaining video.
Let’s goooo!!!!! I remember a lot of these games. They have a lot of these for emulators back on the N64 with like 100 in one games and most of these games were never released. So much nostalgia!!!
If I made a homebrew, my game would be that you're a janitor on an intergalactic spaceship, and you have to fix things via Mini games to keep people alive.
Yeah try making it in NES Maker. That was a kickstarter project that I backed and it's such a cool bit of software, it makes it incredibly easy to make actual NES games without knowing a single line of coding. It's just incredibly intuitive. Definitely give it a go, try and make a game in it, because you don't have to know anything about game development to make games with it. It's pretty much as difficult as making a word document in Microsoft word, that is to say it's not even remotely difficult at all. You can also buy a blank NES cartridge from the company that made this software, and an interface to plug into your PC and to the blank cartridge, so that you can load games you've made in the software onto this blank cartridge and then play it on an actual NES, and then you can keep the game on there or overwrite it with another NES game you make in the software, whatever you want. It's fun as hell especially if you have a CRT TV, to see the games you made on an actual NES console on an actual CRT TV. There's been an explosion in the amount of NES homebrew cos of NES maker cos now there's so many people who've made full games when they otherwise wouldn't ever have been able to because they know nothing about programming. NES homebrew is now easier to make than ever before.
These homebrew videos never get old, matter of fact, I'd say they're quite welcomed. I always find a good handful or so that I've never played before. Definitely a plus! Cheers Greg and be safe my friend!
That Streemerz game is actually the only game to survive from the _Action 52 OWNS_ project, where game developers tried to take the games from the Action 52 cart and make them not suck.
Great video! I gotta say, to each their own indeed. D-pad hero 2 is a genius game I think. You could have covered pac-man ce, that's imo the best homebrew nes game.
Heh, the Zooming Secretary game reminds me of the arcade game Jay Sherman played with his son on The Critic. It was called Escape from New York, with some random guy trying to get out of the city unharmed. He met his doom when Al Sharpton approached him and blah-blah-blah'ed him to death.
Indivisible is somehow a demake of a recent gen PC/console game, although without the fighting mechanics ala Valkyrie profile but a platformer instead.
Wow... somebody made an Indivisble homebrew??? The original is a very pretty game but the gameplay controls could use some tightening IMO... still, impressed someone time the time to make a NES version.
Not to be mean, but a lot of these games look like they were made by kids with Nesmaker; only a handful looked any good. I guess I've been spoiled by the incredible masterpiece homebrews made for the Atari 2600, C64, and lately, the Amiga.
@@GregsGameRoom I have, and though I'd love to get it, I don't really have the means to get a copy of the software. So I thought instead I'd just make it the traditional way, like writing code and whatnot
A lot of these Retro games are the same thing. They need to make alot more top down rpg like games. Platformers are ok, but a lot more thought needs to be put into stage designing.

LOL, I doubt you remember THESE games. ;-)

You could probably make it with NESMaker.

2:02 | It's a copy of a COMMERCIAL RELEASE!! It's a Turbografx-16 game called "Super Star Soldier" remade for NES
Fall Down! I used to play that on my TI-83 plus calculator in high school 20 years ago. Good times
those are queef bubbles in yun. just in-case anyone is wondering.
That's fucked up. 😳
Driar has a run button. That's what you were missing.
I'm holding you personally responsible for the anguish I got from that Falldown game
Really cool. Thanks for doing this compilation!

Interesting. It's actually not bad.
Streemerz is a port of the PC remake of the Action 52 game
Some neat looking games in this roundup. Thanks for the tips.
I have found alot of homebrew devs make there games too difficult for the average person to enjoy them.
Nintendo they catch you downloading homebrew they will sue you

Great video. The lan master one looks awesome

Agreed. None of those games do any justice to the NES, but it's cool to see people still investing time to create new stuff for the console.
It be wonderful if people also port these games to the TurboGrafx16. Since the TurboGrafx16 has a modified NES CPU easy port I think.
3:26 It's like the one in mario 3 but for that entire game.
Good video 😮👍
Video came out Great GGR!
Thanks for checking out the finished product!
I wish someone would make a remake/sequel to Gyromite. Fun game.
Bomb Sweeper is a port of the multiscreen game and watch with the same name
Cool presentation! Would be better with chapters though ;)
Good vidéo
Very interessting
The nes is not dead
Marvellous console
Indivisible? There's an NES version of this game? I was playing it on Switch, and it was more like Valkyrie Profile.
Do you keep a bird in your house?
One singular horror game... Yippee.
I have GOT to make a homebrew of my own! if you guys know any resources to get started let me know
Have you heard of NES Maker?

needs blazing rangers!
Did that Yun game have crotch bubbles? 🤣
Probably… Odd choice to have no clothes on their characters…
@@GregsGameRoom homebrew developer life is a lonely life sometimes.
Abou Cheryl the Goddess. If Male Characters can walk around 1/2 nakid proud of their Bodies Female characters should be able to do the same 😊
Someone needs to make an NES home brew game that’s all about UA-cam vloggers (hint, hint)
Believe it or not, I have already conceptualized a game like that using NESMaker. ;-)
11:10 game is real good looking!
👍 34:00
These reviewer is super dismissive
.
>AMAZING Homebrew NES games!!
>This game sucks
These games are stealing they are illegal to have and download
