- While Harry is doing his own thing in Chiang Mai, I am heading out for a solo adventure in Northern Thailand. Mae Hong Son is a province tucked into Thailand's northwest corner. It is famous for its beautiful riding so it was the perfect place for me to take some time to myself with the DR650
This is going to be a bit of a departure from the style with which you are all familiar, but hope that you enjoy the episode and would love to know your thoughts.
As much as I'm rooting for the both of you, this episode was probably my favourite by far...
Liss: Thank you. We know what you mean. This time apart was a great opportunity to look at how we make our episodes. I had a lot more time to take shots and think about what I was filming, but we will definitely be trying to keep some of the same ideas going forwards

Liss: Thank you. It was so nice to have the time to slow down. I think a big thing I learnt was that if you get going earlier you can chill out more and that gives you more opportunity to show interesting things.
Great to see you riding and not being all hot and flustered. Keep to the roads that you’re comfortable with and when disaster strikes it will be easier to deal with because it won’t be a regular occurrence... Great episode...👍👍👍👍
First episode where I wasn't concerned that one of you would get hurt, or break the bike. This approach will more likely get you to the end of the trip. Beautiful images and nice commentary. Keep it up! Aloha!

Great stuff, Liss. Beautiful scenery, a very different calm and contemplative approach to riding - good to see you with all the stress lifted away and we can see that you are really enjoying the peace and reflective time, even when things don't quite go accordingly, you are much more chilled about it all. Lovely camera work and editing too, your narration and philosophising just add to a very fine episode. Safe travels onward.
Liss: Thank you for your comment. I have been really inspired to get out my big camera a lot more. I think it makes for a much better story if you have the time to show the small details that the go pro often misses
I have to say I think that this episode was the best I've seen so far.. It felt relaxing and professional. I know what you mean about going solo. It puts a completely different perspective on travel. This is more than the best video released to date on the channel, it's a great video. There is more story here than most travel vlogs we find on UA-cam.
I would absolutely recomend you start your own channel. Harry has expressed that he wants to learn the stories of the people he meets and relay that to his audience, an admirable goal, and one that has value. It does not however serve you.
What you have shows us, and I hope yourself, is that you have your story to tell as you move through the world.
You have more talent than being the woman who rides on "Tricky tracks," and I hope you embrace that. - Frank

The great insights you mention about riding with someone rather than alone can be applied to life itself. There is never a time when everything you said doesn't apply to an individual experiencing life and/or a couple experiencing life together. Well said. Me? I'm a loner. So I felt every word.

I have always looked forward to your episodes during this world trip, but this episode hit a new level of FANTASTIC! Everything you said about riding solo (pros and cons) echoed my own (limited) experiences. Can't wait to see where you wander to next. Thailand is now on my bucket list. Ride safe!

Thanks Liss, you made me realize than you can just enjoy bike rideing alone, my poor himilayan has been sitting in my garage with a flat battery and not regerstered, time to get her back on the road and start enjoying her again, i have lots of mates to ride with but sometimes just riding on your own is good for your spirit, time to pull my finger out and enjoy what she is in my life, a machine to escape my problems, love this episode.....
I think it's important to spend some nice time alone. I love doing it myself. It helps me look at my own capabilities. Go Liss and enjoy

Solo Riding in the wilderness should be prescribed as a medicine, it fixes your head and heart and I have done quite a few kilometers solo in this big brown land of Australia.
It is the best therapy that I know of, and if you have not done it before, give it a go.

When I was having life issues a friend forced me to ride a week with him. On one tough switch back road I was worried about holding him up and tried to wave him on. He pulled up and asked what was wrong. After telling him he said, don't worry about others around you. What he said next I've applied to riding and to my life, Ride You Own Ride. For 20 years I've been, Riding My Own Ride. I feel more like a Complete ME, and because of that I feel I'm of more value to others.

So pleased to see you on your solo venture, we definitely would also go for the early starts, as you explain there are so many benefits that come with the longer day, your travels seems very relaxing, more time to take in more.

As others have said. This is so much better, and easier to watch, than your episodes with Harry. No more cringing as he finds something wrong with you.
Your video style is much preferable as well. Your personal reflections add a lot, that was missing before. I certainly agree with the early morning rides. I did that on a ride from Wisconsin to Oregon, to beat the heat, and discovered how nice of a time of day to ride that is.

It was great to see a video again, even under certain uncomfortable circumstances. Got to ride this weekend, was supposed to be a four day trip but severe flooding cut those days down.
Loved this video. There was a sense of transformation. Looking forward to seeing where you go from here, both on the road and in yourself. Congratulations on your solo effort.
