- Such an amazing sighting and interaction I managed to film a few years ago while guiding a wildlife safari in Kruger National Park. Enjoy.
If anyone would like to make a donation towards me for my videos I would be most appreciated. With this Covid19 virus I am unable to travel and guide therefore work and earn an income. My Paypal link is:

LOL! Exactly. How cute is that.

Yes, it amazes me how a massive animal has such delicate motor control. Beautiful creatures indeed.
That's because she knows humans slaughter animals

It is so lovely to see how the mother elephant is trying to protect her baby and does not allow her to go to tourists.

Mamma was SO gentle and baby obeyed immediately.. We could learn a lot from her.
B
What can we learn, exactly? That we should grab our toddlers if they start to wander off? I’m pretty sure humans already know that.
Body language does it. It's clear it's gentle
My animals in my life did the same thing to each other. And we use that too as humans. It works.

@anonymous humans are animals
@anonymous we are not superior beings or whatever we are just creatures like cats, dogs , horses, gorillas etc.
@anonymous you don't get the point of what i am saying forget it
@anonymous "it is a choice" . No it's not . We are biologically animals . Humans are also animals .A fact , not a choice .
Same with your kids, satish
Majestic creatures. They must be protected
Same as in so many other areas, it seems that politics and profits are the main culprits of their well being.
I agree 100%. These majestic beauties need to be protected..
Protected from us.
We need their tusks

Wonderful stuff .

Wow, that was amazing. Curious baby, protective mother, precious moment. I'd be such an honor to see that in the wild. I'd be scared of the mom, she seemed so calm
Only calm to baby if she feels threatened.
Robert Montoya so true it was a real honor and an amazing sighting
Wow wat a brilliant mum 🐘🐘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Raman Kaur indeed. It was amazing to see
What a wonderful example of elephant motherhood. They are all so effective with the trunk. They express so much, and at the same time they smell, and can taste when it goes to the mouth. So much more sensual than hands -- I'm almost jealous. Don't forget, the trunk is used to eat, drink, manipulate objects, and parent. I love watching all the female elephants with little ones. Sometimes you never know there is an infant in the herd until they all arrive, the legs part, and there he is. So tiny and fragile, even though they gestate for 22 months and average 100 kilos at birth weight. Such wondrous creatures.
I love how God created these animals and put that instinct in them!
known all elephants have tusks, just some have vaginas some penis
Amazing mother.
and so protective , guiding her little one
She gently touched him and says, stay with mama, I will always keep you safe.
"stay with mama, I will always keep you safe"
Lol until he gets too old and then YEET! while the female offspring get to stay.
Elephant herds are matriarchal - no adult males travel with them at all.
What beautiful animals.
I can't fathom the selfish people wanting to kill them for their tusks.
Cash money, baby.
@@crosbonit humanity before cash.
@Scott ?????? S/he said s/he couldn't fathom why. My response, however terse, was that the killers do it for money. You presumed, I presume, that my wording (and the ethnicity represented by my avatar, perhaps?) meant that I approve of the practice. Er, no. ...Takeaways: 1. Valid assumptions require sufficient input. 2. One's emotions and predispositions must be separated from the process of drawing conclusions.
goalie2998 because they’re delicious
@Don't Eat Animals I didn't assume that ethnicity was part of the conclusion drawn, Hoss. I asked a question. A question is not an assumption.
Wow!
One touch from Mama and baby instantly shifted into reverse.
Elephants are fascinating.
From what I remember from a National Geographic documentary that I saw as a kid (and also; I am so not kidding; The Wild Thornberry’s Movie when Eliza remembers an elephant earlier in the movie told her that their mom would just nudge one side of their ears to move; yeah a movie for a Nickelodeon cartoon also had some valuable lessons on animals, who knew), Elephants do have a way to tell others especially their babies how to turn around and go the other way, by touching them behind the ear gently and you can see the baby backs up after mama touches his little ears. Plus, even more gentle and protective by putting her trunk over him while the baby is under her like saying “now now, honey; those are not the dangerous humans I told you about but you’re still too young to go near them” and the baby is like “okay mama”.
Good thing nobody there upset her or anyone tried to touch the baby, you can tell she’s a very proud and loving mother but very protective as well and somehow knew these kind of humans were not the dangerous ones; probably by seeing the cameras and noticing they were not approaching them; but she was still looking after her little one without being aggressive(plus, any fool who tried to piss off that mama or hurt her baby, looking at the size and those tusks…yeah either someone’s gonna be stabbed through the chest or be trampled to death)
Like any good parent who is gentle with their baby but is also protective of them; human or animal; you mess with a protective mother or hurt their baby, your asking for an ass-kicking
Either way, very sweet and beautiful to see a majestic animal like an elephant with her baby and just how they protect their young while not being aggressive(human parents should learn some lessons)
LOL mamma's so sweet and protective of her fierce young'n! Adorable overload right there.
THAT IS A GOOD PROTECTIVE MAMA Elephant!. 🐘🙆👏💓

One of the videos that most moved me was one where a baby elephant got stuck in a muddy puddle or rut and couldn’t get out. The mom elephant tried to help and couldn’t free it and started to panic. The matron of the group the grandmother elephant cane over, got the mom out of the way and saved the baby.
Just like humans, grandparents are great to have around. Also shows how intelligent and family oriented elephants are. We need to keep them around!! (Elephants and grandparents both).
Thanks! I'm a great grandparent...
Goes to show: Age and wisdom beats youth and inexperience😀. Referring to the grandmother taking the baby out of the mud hole. I saw that video, too😊.

"Nope."
"Okay, bye."
“Oh look, Mama! Humans! They don’t look like those bad ones you told me about, can I go say hi?”
“Now now, honey; what did I tell you before?”
“Even if a human looks harmless you should not go near them unless they are here to help or if they are in danger”
“That’s right, and yes these are not the bad humans I told you about, these humans are called tourists and photographers; they like to take pictures of us or record videos of us using things that are called cameras. They are harmless; although sometimes these humans may try to get close to us or try to upset us for no reason; but still you should not just go straight toward any human. And you most certainly should not let any human try to touch you, they may have germs that could make you sick, honey. Even if they are harmless, there may be a dangerous human hiding somewhere. I’ll tell you more when we meet back up with the herd, but right now we need to keep moving. Now, say bye-bye to the nice humans and let’s continue on, okay?”
