I just made this and it’s AMAZING. As my daughter has a nut allergy I took a gamble and used ground sunflower seeds instead of almond flour and it turned out great. We also used tahini for the nut butter. It’s a keeper for us - thank you!!!

For coeliacs, what do you suggest as a substitute for oat flour? I often use casava flour, but would this work for this recipe? Thank you again Javant! ❤
Oats don't naturally contain gluten. They only have residual gluten on them from being processed in a facility that also processes wheat. There are some brands that sell oats that are certified not to be cross contaminated with gluten. I just wanted to mention that in case you weren't aware. I totally get and respect your decision not to eat any oats at all, if that's your preference. I haven't tried this recipe with any other flour, so I am not sure what to suggest.
When you are using a flour containing gluten, or with eggs or oil, maybe. I find that most people find cakes like this too dense if I don't use both. Having said that, I could eat it with neither and be happy 🙂 Good question 👌🏾
Ok, I'll ask. What's the actual issue with baking powder? I often use Otto's which is grain & aluminum free. Only 2% sodium also. I'm curious on what else I may be overlooking. Thanks all.
The really short answer is ... There are certain ingredients in the processing that are not clearly safe to me at this point. There are potential issues with the sourcing of the monocalcium phosphate and sodium bicarbonate in most brands. I am familiar with Otto's brand, and agree it's one of the cleanest that I have seen. However, their are potential issues with it as well that I have to research before I can feel totally comfortable with it. I will have a video discussing this in detail in my HV App. I will also have a video in my HV App showing how to make your own baking powder. Great question!

I'm not sure what you are asking. I always encourage people to go by the recipe instead of what they see in the video if there seems to be a difference. I sometimes remake and tweak recipes after filming the videos. If I get a better result, I include the revised recipe, even if it differs slightly from the visual in the video. I have already received a few messages from people who made and loved this cake, so I think the recipe is solid. I'm curious how yours turned out?

I never remove skins for fruit. Doesn't change much, but still tastes great.
It also increases the nutrient content. You can do it either way - I prefer the texture this way!

Can almond flour be substituted with any other GF flour? Unfortunately, I have a food sensitivity to almonds 😢.
