There's nothing wrong having fun playing the game. I mean for example look at Curry, dude balls out and everyone has fun with it including himself. But the difference is that Curry knows how to switch mentally when the stakes are on the line while Dwight always seemed a big guy who had potential but never truly understood the seriousness of his career and where the trajectory will land eventually. It just shows a lack of work ethic because if you want to be an all-time great you need to know how to switch lights off and work your ass off. Dwight enjoyed the life as an NBA All-Star at the time but his offensive game never ever got better. Nowadays, Big Guys around the league are much more than having an athleticism to rely on.

A lot of people never took Dwight’s age into consideration when he was in LA... He never played with a “superstar” prior to LA... He was in Orlando where basketball just didn’t have the same prestige as other cities... So his mentality to win wasn’t on the same level as others...

I remember I hated Dwight for a long time after he left the Lakers the way he did, but so far he's been doing well to make up for that and what he said about Kobe is 100% true. Kobe called him soft because he knew Dwight was better than that and was trying to motivate Dwight to prove him wrong. That's an OG tactic that Dwight didn't understand at the time.

honestly Dwight Howard always has a spot in my favorite players list, even though he didnt amount to the expectations everyone had for him, i think he is such a selfless person and has great character. A lot lf the "haters" or rats in these comments are the salty laker fans that never got over the fact that he decided to leave the lakers. personally Im a lakers fan too, but so much of that base is so so so toxic when they dont get their way. Dwight, honest to god, I hope your life is every bit as fulfilling as it has been exciting my man.

Amen to That He will always be one my Favorite Centers Shaq and Dwight are my only favorite Centers both on and off the court, they both have amazing Personalities and I don't see why everyone hates Dwight so much regardless of mistakes or if he likes trans gender people or men so tf what! We are all human beings in the end and we all have flaws no one is perfect and Dwight Howard is a prime example he's just human and he shouldn't be bashed for that. Kobe was a hard player to mesh with on the court as a teammate because he brought the dog out in everybody, Kobe was THE GYM RAT of the team and always put the most effort into the game and he didn't see his teammates with that same mentality he had, he called them out on it and wasn't easy going about it either Kobe is one of the G.O.A.T.'s of the game and allot of players had hard time being on the same level he was. But with all that been said I still see allot more left in Dwight in the NBA he just needs a chance and for the better he's back with Lakers which I just Hope & wish him well and that this chance it works out for him. #LakerForLife

Once Dwight Howard got a serious back injury he would never be the same. His total game is based on his athleticism, and to have a herniated disk is serious. I used to work at this place that handled workers comp disability, and some of the people how had herniated disks were disabled for life.

Comments for interviews like this are the very reason many interviewees don't read the comments. Many people (who only know what they've heard from people who've heard it from someone else themselves) watch interviews like this with their minds already made up. They're looking to have their opinions confirmed, not get info from someone who has a first-person perspective on the topics discussed. Good interview because, since i wasn't there, it's good to hear Howard give his perspective.
