Got a Cat truck at work and all it does anymore is sit there with dead tags and dead batteries hooked to a log trailer. It breaks down all the time and we're short on driver's right now so no need to rush and get it back on the road
Any company that partners with Navistar ends up with a failed partnership, cat would’ve been better off going to paccar or Mack, this is just my opinion
Cat walked into an extremely competitive market for a very small piece of the pie. Their partnership with Navistar was doomed from the start. International hasn't had the greatest track record with reliability (esp back in the early 2010s). The trucks were pooly designed, had poor ergonomics and we're horrendously unreliable.
I worked for a Caterpillar Dealership as a diesel technician. Absolutely loved building the engines. The 6NZ's were the best in my opinion. When CAT came out with this dumbass idea with Navistar I knew it was time for me to move on. They were pieces of shit!!!
I worked at a cat dealer we sold 8 of those trucks. They were an absolute pile of garbage. 2 were totaled before we had to buy them back. The remaining 6 we had to buy back because they were such lemons
One major failure point that explains the whole debacle, Navistar/international/ cornbinder. It used the maxforce engine😱. If it at least had a cat engine it would have had a chance. I'm not sure cat had much if any input in anything but the design of the hood. 🤔🥺😱
Not the first time Cat has decided to let their customers do the testing in the real world for them

Up until 1988 International built a good truck. The 4300 were good trucks. Held up good in Alaska.

Thanks for the truth you still turning wrenches?
@user-yo1wo6yg2r I'm still in that line of business but I'm a Fleet Manager now. No turning wrenches unless I absolutely have to.

Couldn’t keep up with the emissions standards either
Maybe if they partner with Peter built then they would have had a great trucks

Anything international navistar truck ever touched was a complete failure.
Cat trucks were junk,,be driving down the road,,catching pieces of the dash falling off,,
I've driven Navistars of that period. Everything about them is junk. Theyre like the Daewoos of semis.
This was such a disappointment. CAT let the cheapest builder design and build. They were junk. Stick with what you know CAT
Ugly over priced IH junk
You said that right
🫡
