- Libertarian professor and intellectual - and presidential candidate for the Libertarian Party - Michael Rectenwald joins today's Liberty Report to discuss the mood of the country from his vantage point on the campaign trail. What are the main obstacles on the path to liberty and how might they be overcome?
Now I ask you guys to bring on Mike ter maat who is also running for the LP ticket and he is an economist and pro police reform being an ex police officer in Florida. I had him speak in my office to local libertarians and he is extremely well educated as well as knows how to apply theory to real life applications.

I think it’s a great idea to have Trump speak and hopefully to ask him the tough questions that aren’t asked. Who knows we might find that he’s more libertarian than people would think. 🤷♂️
The Libertarian message is that small government and freedom will solve a lot of problems. Trump's message is that he will solve our problems. So, I don't think he is.
Nobody who blindly supports the police can be a Libertarian.

Yah... the problem we have as Libertarians (and I am one!) is that we don't like government and, as such, we tend to try and dissolve the governments we get elected to. 🤣😆

@@dmark6699 Great comment and great question, dmark! One of my rants (on the Ron Paul Live Chat) goes something like this: "Cut Government by 83.682%". A healthy dose of tongue-in-cheek of course but you get my drift. 😆 The micro management you speak of grows day by day. Government motto: "WE NEED MORE LAWS!". We are going to "law" ourselves into oblivion.

We are trending further away from Libertarian society. The message was popular 12 years ago when Ron Paul was leading in the polls. Despite that, the media said he didn't have a chance! I think the media persuaded people that a vote for Ron Paul is a wasted voted. But I think Ron won several states in the primaries, even though that's not what the official results show.

As soon as Millei got into office he flew to NYC to thank a rabbi for his support. Then he sped of to Israel to cry publicly at the Wailing Wall and announced that he wishes he was Jewish and wants to convert.

Please. This House passage of this proposed legislation is just a trial run. The powers will learn exactly what they need to know to offer legislation, in the future, that will be palatable to the sleeping masses. Just as Bloomberg’s run for the nomination was a trial ballon that yielded valuable info for the next step.

As far as Johnson goes, it seems like he went with the former. Certain Reps were very active in the passing of this Bill and according to them It was, get something done or get nothing done. It appears that funding our alies is more important than border security between now and the next election. That is the perspective of Congress anyway.

Great interview as always! I think the chances of Trump showing up to debate a libertarian or slim to none. He wouldn't show up to debate people who were on his side with lockdowns and the vaccine I highly doubt he'll show up to debate someone who actually uses logic and has a Liberty based mindset. It would make his last year in office look horrible and it wouldn't be in front of one of his normal sycophant crowds. Hope he does though.
