Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! I'm just drooling thinking about it! Perfect on biscuits! also good for a glaze on meats!
I’d love to see jelly from store bought juice!
Goodness gracious that looks amazing! I'm a big fan of the POM juice so thank you for the heads up! I have used Welch's for my grape jelly but other than that I use fresh fruit for my jams and jellies. I've never made pomegranate before so I will definitely be giving it a try. The little nose twitching is from Bewitched. I absolutely loved that show as a kid! I remember one sibling would be the lookout for the TV during the commercials the rest would go to the bathroom or whatever until the lookout screamed "it's back on" and we'd come running from all directions jumping over furniture to get back to the TV. Hahaha!! ❤
# I was once an antenna 😂
I had never heard of pomegranate jelly. I want to try this, I have not done any canning except I help my mom do grape jelly when I was a kid. So I love these videos , because I don’t know how on my own. I believe pomegranate jelly will be the first I try 🤞
Now I finally know how to open and use a pomegranate! Great lesson today. This is one fruit that I didn't understand but I love the POM juice! Thanks Ali
I’ve been making pomegranate jelly for 50 years. After I moved to CO I’d fly back to Fresno & freeze the juice, flew back to CO & made my jelly. Now I buy pomegranates from the mark down bin. Tried using the POM Jared juice, just not the same made it to sweet like something was added or how it’s processed took out the tang😥 I also bought another hand juicer makes better juice
Yes please show jelly out of store bought juice. 😊
On the list it goes.
I've found that if you score the skin on the outermost rounded edges they come apart quite well.
Can’t wait to try this. Thanks for sharing. I loved hearing about your childhood memories. I loved growing up on a farm
Yes to Grape Jelly!
Yes Ali you do that, jelly from juice bought from the store please 😁😁
As a kid in San Diego every halloween I made sure I went to one house trick or treating in our neighborhood because they always gave out pomegranate's. I have bought the cups of just the seeds from Costco and they taste nothing like a good pomegranate. I love what ever you do.😊😋
That’s the coolest story! I would have gone there for sure
Yes i would love to c how u make jelly out of store bought juice..love pomegranates..this looks awesome.going to have to try this..thanku so much for this receipe..have a wonderful day ❤❤
Yes, I would like to see you make jelly out of juice.
The juice look good I could drink it like that I also have a strainer like your that was my grandma's I use it for making red chili sauce for enchilada and chili meat love your tutorial they are so helpful thank you
I've been looking for a good recipe for grape jelly using commercial grape juice. I'd love a video!
I love experimenting with different flavors in my jams. The orange would be really interesting if you added whole spices and let them gently infuse on low heat before proceeding to add pectin and sugar. I made an infused mixed berry jam that turned out really good. I added: bay leaf, peppercorns, clove, cinnamon, star anise, and cardamom pods. I strained out all the seeds from the fruit and the spices, cleaned my pot, and then proceeded to make the jam. One of my favorites.
Yum!!!
Yes, I do remember: "Bewitched." My friend has that sound as her text notification!! Too funny ❤
Good luck 🤞👍👍 I can't have that but I will try to do for the family 😁😍😍😄😀
Yes, you can get very spoiled if you've grown up with fresh
readily available fruits and veggies. My Papa Gus grew avocados, Fallbrook, CA. They were large, almost the size of softballs with dark, almost black very thin skins. They were so creamy so rich I loved them.
But now, living in MN, they call salad Avocados, Haus, which were more seed than meat, are all we can get. I was spoiled back in the day.
I bet his were the same as my grandparents. We were more north from Fallbrook but know that area well. Shawn did some of his college stuff down in the area due to the high production of fruits. It’s beautiful!
My Uncle B Young also had Avacado & Orange orchards I miss the fresh fruit
Thanks for the tip to use dish drying mats for canning. Making jelly from store-bought juice would be a helpful video. Thank you!
I grew up with a pomegranate tree (in East Central Alabama, no less) and I really cringe when I have to buy them! I think I'm going to have to make some jelly now! Thanks for the video! I've really been enjoying your back to basic series!
Me too. It’s crazy $$$
I have never seen pomegranate jelly. Looks delicious and beautiful.
I'm down for this one. And I'm keepin it for us!
How about some cranberry jelly from juice?
You can add a pat of butter to your jelly and it stops the foam.
I’ve heard that but I have a weird thing about dairy in canning. I’ll have to try it.
I was watching a different podcast of y’all’s and you mentioned long haulers covid. I haven’t tasted most foods for three years actually over three years. I can taste good apples, some carrots, organic apple juice, ginger snaps, and maybe one or two other things. I have foods that taste rancid., like ANY COMMERCIAL red sauce aka pasta sauce, almost anything with white sugar, grains, commercial pickles, we can our own, iced tea, lunch meats, snack foods, cakes, and pies. Your macoon cookies with honey to replace the sugar were a delight this last holiday! I can also mildly taste roasted pecans.
I’m right there with you. It’s terribly! My smell is maybe 10% there. My taste is maybe 60% back. Cilantro tastes horrible to me now and there are times when I can hardly taste at all again. It’s so odd and terrible. I’m so sorry that you are dealing with this too.
I have never tasted a pomegranate. I look forward to making this jelly. Thank you for sharing. I would love to see jelly made from store bought juice. Love all you videos.❤️
What!!! They are tart and little earth and sweet. Maybe cherry ish?!?!
Thank you for sharing, of all the jellies I’ve eaten never had this!😊
This sounds so yummy! I love pomegranates, so I have to try it. And, jelly from juices would be great. Thank you! (PS: Love your potholders. 😉)
Me too!
I have grape juice in my fridge and would like to make jelly out of it.
At Christmas, I had a buttload of cranberries and had already made cranberry jalapeno jam and wanted to do something different. So I used 100 grape juice I got from Aldi, (It was the Specially Selected Organic, I believe). I ended up using up some ripe pears I had in it too. It really turned out great! I’ve never made jelly and would love to see you do Jellies! Potentially, what juices that aren’t good candidates? Thanks!
I haven’t found a juice that didn’t work. Grape is traditional but I’ve done orange juice and apple too.
Yes that would be another good video. Thank you for all the videos
We make fresh salsa with pears and pomegranate at Christmas time. It’s amazing. I know we would love the pomegranate jelly.
Yummy!
Oh my this looks yummmmy!!! to keep a lookout when I can buy some pomegranates:) You just tossed the water that you were removing the seeds from correct? Tfs and God bless:)
Yes. The water I toss.
You could even say that in Califonia you take them for pomegranted
Ha ha!!!! That was totally a bad dad joke.
Will definitely try this
Will you please do some lemon marmalade or things with lemons? I have three trees in looking for recipes also a good orange marmalade would be appreciated. Thank you. I’m in Northern California.
I’m jealous. We cannot grow lemons here. I will do a lemon jelly for you though. Yum!
Thanks Ali,
Do you have a Dry Pudding Mix recipe?
Not yet. We keep trying but arrowroot, cornstarch and sure jel all made it wierd. I’m trying.
I think you might have been looking for the term "rolling boil" 😊
It was!!!! My brain.
It's a sifter
Store bought juice please
Did you use pint size jars for the jelly?
I use half pint typically.
😋 y u m !
The seeds of a pomegranate are called arils - had to look it up because I couldn't think of it either and it was driving me nuts 🤣
Ha ha, thanks for being just like me. I looked it up as soon as I got off camera.
Ally, it looked like you had 4.5 to 5 cups of pomegranate seeds, but that is just a guess.
It was 4
256 😜👏👏👏😋😍😍👍
