Thank you Greg! Yeah to me that seemed to be the easiest approach to it. The only thing about that is making sure the wall thickness was where I wanted it but it just made sanding easier and not having to worry about two handles flying around while doing it.
Thank you! For the majority of my work I use Real Milk Paint Co. Real Tung oil with a coat of wood wax but sometimes I will use mineral oil & bees wax, varnish, etc. Really just depends on the turning.
Fantastic work. I'm gonna have to try this out at some point. What chuck are you using and how are you going about sharpening your gouges? I have a chuck from PSI and it definitely works but has the two bar tightening which is cumbersome for bigger bowls. I recently got a Tormek T8 for sharpening and it has helped a lot. Very repeatable for whatever profile you choose but the stock wheel it comes with is not great for taking off loads of metal so as long as you are close to your grind then it's awesome.
Thank you! Currently I am using a Nova supernova2 chuck with 3" jaws. I have had this chuck for 8 years and its been fantastic. I completely understand the frustration with the bar tightening. I had that style before I bought this one & it was always cumbersome & I never felt like it had a great hold. Funny enough, I have started using again though for smaller turnings just so I don't have to change out the jaws lol For my grinder, I use a rikon slow speed grinder with a CBN wheel & the wolverine sharpening jig. Its something I have also had for many years. I still have a stone wheel attached for sharpening of other items but mainly use the CBN side for gouges. From what I know, the Tormek is a great system. I have looked into one myself but the CBN wheel upgrade kept me with the rikon. Maybe one day I'll upgrade to the tormek lol
Beautiful piece. Is this a newer shape for you? I don’t think I’ve seen you do this style before. Also I like the new panning/scrolling shots you’re filming. Very nice.
Thank you & yes it is. I tried something similar on a small scrap piece of sycamore the other day to see if it was possible & to figure out how I would do it so once I got that I thought it would be fun to make a bigger one. and thank you for the comments about the new shots; I'm currently experimenting with all this so its cool you noticed!
Major bowl envy now!!😂
This was definitely one of my more recent favorites!
I have made my own bread from scratch for decades, and this gave me my worst (biggest) case of bowl envy yet! ❤❤
Your work is amazing! Are your treasures available to purchase, if so, where and how?

Making the pizza dough in it at the end was great!
I’m saving that for the hopefully part 2 where I make a outdoor pizza oven!
Thank you for sharing your time and talent. I am doing my first bowl with handles after watching your video. Thanks again.
I like it very much. The handles are a nice feature.
Nicely done

Really like this one
Thanks Cliff, this is one I am pretty proud of.
That came out amazing. I had not seen anyone make handles like that. Well done.
Thanks for that! Using the bandsaw seemed like the most straightforward so I figured I would give it a try lol
Great design and impeccable execution.
Thank you very much!
Very nice.

Thank you Lee!
Great video and another beautiful bowl!!
Thanks Wyatt!
This bowl is awesome. I really like how you turned the wide rim then trimmed in the handles.

Geoges!
Beautiful dough bowl. Nice piece. Can I ask what kind of wood?
Thanks! This is a piece of ambrosia maple that has some spalting & figure
Please write a letter to santa claus that you urgently need a dust collection. Your Bowls are beautiful
I would love that! lol I have one I use around my workbench but nothing more than that & thank you!
Your bowls are beautiful. What do you finish them with? I assume some sort of oil?
Thank you! For the majority of my work I use Real Milk Paint Co. Real Tung oil with a coat of wood wax but sometimes I will use mineral oil & bees wax, varnish, etc. Really just depends on the turning.
