Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure is a platform game developed and published by SNK and released for the Neo Geo Pocket Color in 1999. The game is heavily based on Sonic the Hedgehog 2, borrowing much of the stage themes and gameplay elements, but featuring unique stage layouts, elements from other Genesis Sonic the Hedgehog games, and extra game modes.
In this run, Memory (tasvideos.org/...) beats the game using precise jumps and glitches to complete every level as fast as possible.
OH MY GOD THE SCORE IS CALCULATED IN ONE SECOND.
If you've seen the Game Gear sonic games, you know just how big a blessing that is.
You can actually just skip the countdown with a button press in this one.

Sonic 2 stages, with Sonic 3 music. Interesting. EDIT: Oh, and the last stages are a Scrap Brain/Metropolis combo. Some really cool combinations between the three games here.

A little note for future speed runners for this game: I was just playing this game today, analyzing the physics. Secret Plant Act 2, at the very beginning... not sure how but at a specific pixel of the start, you can attempt a spindash and you can fall through the floor passing through a half of the act. I’m not sure how this happened, as I’m no speedrunner, and emulation was done through PSP. But, if we can see this in future runs if someone else pulls it off, lemme know. I wouldn’t report this if I was lying lmao

Cosmic Casino is a really cool zone name and i love the Sonic 3 multiplayer track renditions, this game is so cool

funny how cosmic casino’s entire ost is sonic 3 bonus stage themes and it still works well
Even though this game is a blatant copy of previous titles, the animation and sprites are amazing, game looks and sounds great

*Ah! Congrats! I was saddened that I couldn't find the company+year that had made the game.* It felt weird having to see a Sonic 2 platform using all of the Sonic 3 songs.
I was impressed that you knew how to jump doing into the loop for more speed. It was satisfying to see. I was able to see its CPU limitation. I have been doing it for 10 years and not everybody still know how to do it. Sorry, I had missed your name. Everything was going by so fast.

This is a chimera of sonic games, you play sonic 2 stages with random sonic 3 music and completely different bosses as modern sonic.

The fact that the music doesn't match the stages they originally come from really bothers me.
What, you mean having Hydrocity 2 play on Secret Plant 2 and Hydrocity 1 play on Aquatic Relix 2 bothers you?
The worst offender of the mixed up music isn't actually shown in this TAS. The Super Sonic boss has Sky Sanctuary playing for some reason and it's really unfitting.

I hope someone does a run where they get the true ending.
True ending requires doing the Sonic 2 bonus game 6 times (read: boring autorunning segment) and hitting the emerald 8 times during the final boss seen here. I wouldn't do it aside from as a part of a 100% run where I also got all the puzzle pieces but I really don't want to do that either.
True Ending would not be very interesting.
other than the meh special stages it would only have a few route changes (notably in Cosmic Casino 1 and Gigantic Angel 1) and a different final boss fight and then the secret final boss. Not interesting enough to warrant its own TAS.
Now 100%, with routes for Puzzle Pieces, would actually be worth a new TAS.
But with Modern Sonic
