Turns out the record book is wrong. This race was in fact run the same day as the Goody's 300. Does anyone know if it was run before or after the Busch race?
@@gulfcoastmarc6388 and not only were the twin 125s not shown live....neither was the BGN race. They showed the 125's saturday afternoon on CBS and BGN race sat night. Even tho they were run on thur afternoon and sat afternoon. lol
Kinser wasn't in the Talladega crash, but yeah - we do know how that one ended! I was watching the Talladega race live as a child, but I was young enough that I missed some of the subtle signs in real time that the crash was really bad. The satellite feed of that race is pretty revealing to watch - you see the exact moment that everyone realizes how bad it is (a shot of Smith unconscious on the ground, covered in blood), and later on, you hear Ken Squire gathering information about Smith's family during commercial breaks. It's pretty obvious that Squire thought he was going to be announcing a fatality at some point. Thankfully, it didn't turn out that way.
I was wondering if they were even looking at the same wreck. The fucking car is sideways before it even gets below the line, and the guy is drawing on the screen talking about how he's in the flat already. wtf?
Thanks for leaving commercials in...gives a pop culture snapshot of the 90s!
The beginning of the legend that is Jeff Gordon
0:58 Is Economacki confused about what day it is? The record book shows this race run on February 11, the Thursday before the Sunday Daytona 500.

Back then, the 125s weren't shown live, they were taped and shown on the Saturday before the 500.
