As a Kahne-fan, I keep watching this back, hoping that it plays out differently and that the JTGD cars link up behind him to push the 95 to the lead. I miss Kahne so much.
It had a different meaning, my driver won his first cup race, and I was watching it. His win at darlington the following year, I fell asleep during it 😪.
The last 4 Daytona races have been surival races. The 4 races prior to stage racing had an average of 28.75 Lead Lap finishers. The 4 races after the introduction of stage racing has had an average of 14.75 Lead Lap finishers. No Stage racing at Restrictor Plate Tracks.
justin dinkins While the stages may have something to do with it, it's the damaged vehicle policy that's really causing the lack of finishers at plate tracks.
Adam Van Norman No I think the drivers are overaggressive. Yea the damage vehicle policy and crash clock somewhat affects that but we are seeing really overaggressive driving at Daytona for some reason in the first 250 miles.
justin dinkins That's true. The problem is these wrecks weren't strictly because of stages. In this case, Ricky was just being stupid aggressive. I don't think stages would have changed that. Can't prove it, but I doubt the aggressiveness of the young drivers has as much to do with stages as you may think. Aggressive driving has been around for a very long time and caused worse wrecks than what we saw in this race
Such a fantastic race. Really needed it after such a rough patch of races there to watch. Really had a great time with this one and I love the boys up in the booth. Rick, Jeff, Dale and company seem to have such great chemistry together and are very charming and fun to listen to for me. Real nice converse to Joy, Gordon and DW. Hope they stick around to see more of them and the broadcast.

2:23:20 Had to time stamp one of my favorite moments of that miserable season. Jimmie making the decision to jump down in front of MTJ and eventually take the lead.
Fightlikabrave true if he would have picked the inside he might have got at least second or third but he tried on the final restart and almost got truex but if he would have known Jones was going to make that move he would have made the pass and probably would have won hopefully he goes to a better team like hass or furniture row which I doubt
I haven't been watching for quite some time. In my area II'd have to have some premium cable package to watch every race. I'm not paying $120 a month FSN or NBCSN. It's not worth it. And if I can't see every race it gets less and less interesting to watch half of them.
Joshua Varrelino there were bold moves to gain positions and constant three and two wide racing in this year’s Daytona 500 and Firecracker 400. Unlike Talladega, where they were single file almost throughout the entire race, with the exception of some three wide racing near the end of Stage 2 or the beginning of Stage 3, if I can recall. Hopefully the fall Talladega race is better, considering it’s a playoff race
Plate racing has been garbage for the last 3 years now. The 500 the last 2 years have been wreckfest at the beginning and always end up with single file racing the last 70 laps of the race and the last 2 Coke Zero 400s have been wreckfest as well.
Most genuine and wholesome reaction by a race winner I've ever seen. He sure as heck earned it too.

This race holds a special place in my heart. It was my very first race that I've been to :)
I was there aswell
Same my first race being at Daytona
Same. And I bet I the 20 was gonna win, and it won.

@@MatthewPowell509 I fell asleep as well lol
This was the definition of a survival race

Abiy Wicaksana c
Thanks!
It was great seeing #96 DJ Kennington battling for the lead in the final stage! A solid Top-15 finish for the 2-time NASCAR Pinty's Series champion.
3:45:31 I love Erik Jones' reaction
The celebration from these first time race winners bring a tear to my eye. Such pure, unfiltered joy that you just can't fake.
Two amazing races in a row! Just spectacular!
Wow, just wow. The anthem gave me chills down my spine. That was one of the best I have heard in a while. The race was also amazing
1:39:18 Kyle Busch crash
he's my favourite :(
Why have you given a timestamp for that specific crash?
Jraybay Because people hate Kyle and always want to see him wreck.
@Branden Rios Mine too. I hope he wins Daytona someday
@@jraybay he has, just not the 500

I will always go back to watch this as this was Kasey Kahnes best and last chance to win. It's a huge shame he lost it.
1:22:02
Is nobody gonna talk about that Rick Allen said
Jimmie Johnson in the 41?
2:23:20
Had to time stamp one of my favorite moments of that miserable season. Jimmie making the decision to jump down in front of MTJ and eventually take the lead.
In that replay, it was terrible that the camera shown Dillon while JJ took the lead.
2:06:52 look at Jimmie Johnson. He’s the only one whose playoff points match his number
The Grand Marshall (10:18) is the Colonel that was in the movie Battleship (2012). I really liked the movie. It's a sci-fi twist on a war movie.
What an amazing race I love watching nascar but this is those only time I was seriously jumping out of my seat from excitement... Like 20 times..
Congrats to Erik Jones. Him and His team deserve this win.
Best night racing at Daytona that I've have had the pleasure of viewing in a long time. Cóngrats to Jones in the #20 Toyota.
What an amazing race man wow it was great seeing people out in front that you normally wouldn’t see. Man fantastic!!!
More like the wrecky crashouse chaos survival 400 lol good job to Kahne finishing 4th
Nathancsx 75 what about Jeffrey Earnhardt, the dude finished 11th, that's his best finish yet.
Darn, I wish he chose the bottom line and just punched it as soon as he entered the start zone..
Well I guess I got to give him credit for that I guess and my comment is the second liked on this video to carnation
Fightlikabrave true if he would have picked the inside he might have got at least second or third but he tried on the final restart and almost got truex but if he would have known Jones was going to make that move he would have made the pass and probably would have won hopefully he goes to a better team like hass or furniture row which I doubt
At least crashouse didn't get him in the first 2nd crash or I would have been a bit frustrated
Jeffrey Earnhardt had his best finish yet, not bad.
Molly: Alright Goby, our racing helmets are blue and green. Goby: Yes, that's correct
Race start 27:04
Best part of the broadcast is at 1:52:16
That was a Kyle Busch save
Can't believe this was over 4 years ago already.

That was a cool shot with the #43, #3, and #48 cars next to each other.
I hai you
rick allen mistake in 1:22:02 says the 41 jimmie johnson side ways
48 not 41 LOL
i would give every thing to see one of the old NASCAR's with the old cars like when NASCAR first started
I miss Winston Cup and the old drivers from that era. Nascar seems way different.
a big crash at 1:19:08
Spoiler: The #10's LR wheel goes on to win.. lol
y did you ruin the race
I like nascar
Lupita Guerrero me too
Anyone here in the year of corona-cancellation 2020?
Yep unfortunately
Yep
I went to the 1970 Firecracker 400. I still remember that Petty blue- and those aerodynamics.
I was there.
Giovanni Tirado so were we..lol
Yep same
Cool

Cool
This was the example of destruction
I don’t think you’ve seen the 2020 Busch Clash yet
Who's back here to relive last year's 400 before Saturdays race?
Exactly hahaha
I hate that they didn't even mention Jeffrey Earnhardt a single time nevermind his best finish
MTJ had the best race i think if it wasnt for that last crash he would have taken it. but thats nascar for ya nice to see a first time win on daytona.
It was awesome that the fans were cheering for Jimmie Johnson because he took the lead.
thank you @NASCAR for the fast upload! much obliged! now get rid of the Chase and everything will be ok... ;)
I remember going to this race and none of my family believed in Kahne. But I did through all these year. And none of their drivers even finished
3:54:39 Playoff Standings
How much do they get paid for each sip of the sponsors soda?
I go to this race with my family every year until Covid-19 and now there moving it back to August
Ok. I Like Rick Allen, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Steve Letarte, And. Jeff Burton.

Honest to God, Ricky Stenhouse Jr should've been BANNED from NASCAR after this race. He's a danger to every single driver.
3:34:14 look just to the left of Jimmies car and you’ll see one of the guys in orange slip
wow, what a race!
2:20:00 Martin Truex had one of the best drives of his entire career
I love the interstate battery paint scheme
It seems this year’s plate package has better racing at Daytona than it does at Talladega
Joshua Varrelino there were bold moves to gain positions and constant three and two wide racing in this year’s Daytona 500 and Firecracker 400.
