My Pink Floyd Playlist! • Pink Floyd
In this guitar lesson video for Pink Floyd's "The Final Cut", I will show you how to play this amazing song in its entirety, including the guitar solo!
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
This lesson is my own arrangement of The Final Cut. Most of the song is played on piano with string section accompaniment with some acoustic guitar overdubs. I will show you how to play all of those piano chords and the main string section lines on just one acoustic guitar in an arrrangement that is pretty easy to play.
I will then switch to my Fender strat and show you how to play David Gilmour's killer guitar solo note-for-note.

A "Final Cut" lesson... What a great surprise!
I remember this album being knocked as too depressing or just a Roger Waters solo effort, but I've always thought it was one of Pink Floyd's hidden gems.

Even their chord progressions exude quality. They're (by far - like, not even close) my favourite band. I've learned most of their songs and every time I play "Shine On" I can't help wondering how that managed to find its way into a human mind for them to create it. Imagine you wrote that! I'd retire because the only way from there is down. The fact that intro was created by a mere human is mind boggling! Then you've got the less well known songs like "Lost For Words". Also the solo for "Mother" is almost as perfect as solos can get (a start, middle, end with a crescendo - it basically tells a story). Love them far too much I think lol
What do you think of the solo in Fletcher Memorial Home. I think that’s an amazing one.

Pink Floyd have song like Wish You Were Here, Mother, Time, Comfortably Numb, Shine On and many others. But one band has no right to have that many classics. It's outrageous!

I sometimes wish my Faith guitar had the fret inlays. As an intermediate player you can lose your place on the fingerboard sometimes.
You can buy sticker inlays for a few bucks.. that is what I did 👍

I vote for “On The Turning Away - 2019 Remix” as the next Floyd lesson. Not only do I think it’s one of the most underrated songs of all time, I think this live performance is one of the best live performances ever recorded. He plugs his guitar into my soul on this one. Such a masterpiece.
