I'm a veteran who has PTSD and depression. I've had been doing well for many years, and it seems like over the last couple of years, along with the pressures that COVID has brought into my life, I found I've just been white knuckling things for awhile. Like you turn around and so much of your life is just not flowing anymore, and your ability to manage stress and relationships seems to be barely managing. I think watching this channel, and others, where you keep hearing people say "It's okay to not be okay", make it asking for help seem less overwhelming . Even though my local Veteran's Medical Center doesn't have availability open, they've set me up with a program like the one Max is talking about. I did get to choose the therapist I wanted. Within just a couple of days I had contact and a date to start up. Next week is my first session online. As nervous as I am to start therapy again after so long, I know this will be helpful and I'm pretty sure without the hassle of having to take time off and drive to appointments, it will be so much less impactful to other responsibilities I have.

Stay strong mate, no shame in getting help and great you recognised you needed the support and are getting it (before it gets any worse!) You've taken the biggest step as you know, which is great and you'll feel a whole lot better being able to talk things over maybe get or adjust any meds you're on and get back on track.. go easy on yourself mate! I know how you feel I too suffer and it's tough when people don't understand, but we ALL have to be open and unashamed to end the stigma around mental health, so that others don't have to suffer in silence (as I did for many years until I was on the edge and waited far too long!) as if it's nipped in the bud, it can be treated so much more easily than once it's taken hold! Stay strong but equally go easy on yourself if that makes sense. 💪👍🙏🏴

It's hard losing a loved pet. I recently lost my 18 yr old cat...who thought he was a dog. He would even play fetch. My heart goes out to you. Just give as many cuddles as possible in the time you have left with each other.
Might try kidney tonic, helps eating, old age. Rhemmania 8 on Amazon very good. Best wishes, suggest getting food syringe online too for water hydration. Had three dogs pass at home with nursing moment by moment care, you can do it and saves room for their end stage work at that time. Gives home a sweet connection for their spirit to feel welcome in memory, kind to small efforts in world when sick but that time big to angel life.Kinda like letting sea turtle hatchlings go to ocean from nest on beach by themselves. Well done Max So glad you're not over doing it with the parametics, as a Registered Nurse myself I know how good it feels to help others but at the same time can it can also sap the soul. Tom reminded me of a good neighbour who after I mentioned that I needed to attend to my garden needed hedging said ..."oooh yes the hedge police will be along to fine you anytime soon!" this comment broke through and taught me to take a breath and as time has gone on my perfectionism has diminshed somewhat. Have realised we can get too precious about the small stuff and there are just more things in life to appreciate.... I have just about finished my van build & transferred my casual position from Bunbury Hospital to Port Hedland WA. I am now beginning my 🚐 travel & working 🇦🇺. On my way North I am currently visiting my folks in Beverley WA with temperature 6°C overnight and day temp of 21°C...looking forward to my adventures and the warmer temperatures of up north between 18-32°C. I think his time there was life changing in a wonderful way. Seeing bits of Australian life through your videos is a treat. Seeing you inspire others to stay happy and healthy is inspiring.

Oh the memories! That alarm after 2 hours sleep, the alarm after power napping on the mattress in the back of my car for 20 minutes during a 4am break..... and then trying to look wide awake and ready for those emergencies when you feel/look more like something the dog chewed. You guys always looked so awake and on the ball when you wheeled those patients in. Good on you Max. Its one of the hardest jobs around.

I’m an RN living in my van and just a tip for your maxxair fan to block it out is to cut some cardboard to fit, paint it black and put it above the removable fly screen.

(During my very toughest of days, keeping busy and working hard was always the key to helping me through.) We always look forward to your great video updates but taking care of yourself is far important. You needn't ever worry that people are having certain expectations of your van updates or video releases. That's just details. And most of all, thanks so much for being so kind and encouraging towards others, and letting them know that it's healthy and necessary to put oneself first in times of need, and to reach out for therapy. I'm a veteran who has PTSD and depression. I've had been doing well for many years, and it seems like over the last couple of years, along with the pressures that COVID has brought into my life, I found I've just been white knuckling things for awhile. Like you turn around and so much of your life is just not flowing anymore, and your ability to manage stress and relationships seems to be barely managing. I think watching this channel, and others, where you keep hearing people say "It's okay to not be okay", make it asking for help seem less overwhelming . Even though my local Veteran's Medical Center doesn't have availability open, they've set me up with a program like the one Max is talking about. I did get to choose the therapist I wanted. Within just a couple of days I had contact and a date to start up. Next week is my first session online. As nervous as I am to start therapy again after so long, I know this will be helpful and I'm pretty sure without the hassle of having to take time off and drive to appointments, it will be so much less impactful to other responsibilities I have.

Stay strong mate, no shame in getting help and great you recognised you needed the support and are getting it (before it gets any worse!) You've taken the biggest step as you know, which is great and you'll feel a whole lot better being able to talk things over maybe get or adjust any meds you're on and get back on track.. go easy on yourself mate! I know how you feel I too suffer and it's tough when people don't understand, but we ALL have to be open and unashamed to end the stigma around mental health, so that others don't have to suffer in silence (as I did for many years until I was on the edge and waited far too long!) as if it's nipped in the bud, it can be treated so much more easily than once it's taken hold!
Stay strong but equally go easy on yourself if that makes sense. 💪👍🙏🏴

It's hard losing a loved pet. I recently lost my 18 yr old cat...who thought he was a dog. He would even play fetch. My heart goes out to you. Just give as many cuddles as possible in the time you have left with each other.

Had three dogs pass at home with nursing moment by moment care, you can do it and saves room for their end stage work at that time. So glad you're not over doing it with the parametics, as a Registered Nurse myself I know how good it feels to help others but at the same time can it can also sap the soul.
Tom reminded me of a good neighbour who after I mentioned that I needed to attend to my garden needed hedging said ..."oooh yes the hedge police will be along to fine you anytime soon!" this comment broke through and taught me to take a breath and as time has gone on my perfectionism has diminshed somewhat.

I have just about finished my van build & transferred my casual position from Bunbury Hospital to Port Hedland WA.
I am now beginning my 🚐 travel & working 🇦🇺.

Oh the memories! That alarm after 2 hours sleep, the alarm after power napping on the mattress in the back of my car for 20 minutes during a 4am break..... and then trying to look wide awake and ready for those emergencies when you feel/look more like something the dog chewed. You guys always looked so awake and on the ball when you wheeled those patients in. Good on you Max. Its one of the hardest jobs around.

(During my very toughest of days, keeping busy and working hard was always the key to helping me through.) We always look forward to your great video updates but taking care of yourself is far important. You needn't ever worry that people are having certain expectations of your van updates or video releases. That's just details. And most of all, thanks so much for being so kind and encouraging towards others, and letting them know that it's healthy and necessary to put oneself first in times of need, and to reach out for therapy. As the people in my family agreed years ago, everyone needs some therapy at one time or another. It's just a normal part of life.
