In this episode:
On January 30, 1933, Adolf Hitler was appointed Chancellor of the Reich. This was followed by the Reichstag fire, the Enabling Act, and the so-called "Röhm Putsch." The initial phase of Nazi rule was primarily focused on power consolidation and coordination. The Third Reich lasted for 12 years, three months and nine days. It began with great hopes and jubilation and ended after a world war in which 50 million people were killed and Germany was destroyed.
This documentary series embarks on a unique journey through the bleakest chapter of German history, tracing the story of the Third Reich and painting a picture of Nazi dictatorship behind the propaganda by utilizing what in some cases is previously unpublished footage.

If he stopped after regaining everything lost after WW1, I wonder what could have been. Would he have started the Holocaust? Kinda hard to start it in Germany and easy to start in occupied territory. Would he have remade Germany into Germania like he dreamed? If only he wasn't a psychotic megalomaniac.

Indeed! They shouldn't take the horror out of war documentaries, that's one of the main reasons to study history - if you see how terrible it was maybe we can avoid it happening again.
Sadly it's because YT regulations state for unrestricted access dead bodies etc must be blurred or the vid would be taken down.

Thank you for this post. The burning of the books has always confused me. Get rid of the old and promote the new, but he and Himmler went searching for old relics, maybe the locations could have been in one of the books they burnt. Looking forward to episode 2.
Whomever is responsible for the blurring of the images needs to be reprimanded. This is history, not some irresponsible horror movie. The images need to be seen and the reality of the violence and consequences needs to be fully and clearly understood.
There is that. Although, who asked the dying if they wanted to be a part of history? They were forced to be a part of history and the blurred images are the worst moments of their existence. I think the looks on the faces of the perpetrators speaks much much more than the victim's blood and guts.
We would prefer to show uncensored however YT regulations state for unrestricted access dead bodies etc must be blurred.
It's more about respecting the dead rather than your feeling

The entitlement of people screaming about blurred images boggles my mind. This still brings so much value at your fingertips and brain, hopefully. You can just listen to it ffs and still get the message. If not then I have to ask what’s wrong with you, people?
A lot of these comments comes from 14 years old teenage boy uploading Minecraft videos. Others are from Kremlin bots, they ALWAYS show up in these historical video to try to mess things up. Don't worry about them :)

Yes I think so. I’ve been watching many others documentaries is true. He changed Germany but they arrived to the point of………….
The same happened in the Communist countries, they observe progress and start to think that nobody else can follow those progress, but at the same time they had to massacre millions that were opposed and decided to move forward in the same bloody path, killing, intimidating, raging like Stalin, Franco, Tito, Gaulle, Castro, Saddan, Kadafi, Mao and many others did and still doing.
There’s a documentary on Netflix that called “ How you become a Dictator”

He thought like Stalin, keeping all those countries together under his rules.
He later differ with Stalin on economics issues and that put Yugoslavia away from the Communism vortex, the same happened with Hungary 🇭🇺.

Children not willing to learn this history will live to see this history repeated because they did not learn from the past due to their own distractions. That's why Auschwitz has exhibits showing all of the shoes and suit cases. You can convey the horror without needing to be disrespectful to the dead.

Looking back at history, international politics is insane anymore. Out of all the major Allied powers, China and Russia probably suffered the most, so you'd think they'd have the greatest interest in stopping nationalist extremism outside of their borders. History isn't just for grown-ups. Kids learn it too. And not all grown-ups get off on seeing piles of mutilated and/or emaciated corpses. Maybe you should look into buying old tapes of Faces of Death if that's what you're into. You wouldn't even need bandwidth to watch them, and you could pause and rewind to your fave moments without any "censorship."

While we'd prefer uncensored. I want to say the information is all there. One does not have to see the mutilated bodies to know about the mutilated bodies and millions of casualties this war brought about.
