Quick question for you Brendan. Wouldn't it be more effective to put the telephoto lens on the crop sensor body for the extra reach it would then provide? Seems that's what most of the wildlife shooters are doing (since you can rarely get close enough for the shot you want). Then keep your wider lens on the full frame body? That was kind of my plan for my Nikon d500 once I eventually get myself a full frame body to complement this one!

+Brett Bodkins I'll answer that question with a question. What's the difference between cropping a full frame shot and a crop sensor shot?
      Nothing.
I'd rather keep my full frame light and noise handling caoabilities. The reason lots of wildlife photographers are uaing crop sensors like the 7d mark ii has 0 to do with the "more reach" myth. It has to do with the fact that cameras like the 7d mark ii shoot a much high fps. Personally, I prefer my full frame.

Brendan van Son I can see your point there. I'm not a physics expert or anything so care more about shooting than gear, but my understanding is that you would need quite a high mp sensor to crop down a full frame sensor to get the same result. Either way none of this matters too much to me as sports and wildlife are not my top shooting priority and doesn't seem to be yours either! Thanks for your answer though and my intention was really to suggest that the best result if carrying one crop and one full may have been with the role reversal!

Great video---What kind of camera bag did you take to the Galapagos?

Quick question regarding your choice of the 100-400 mm f/4.5-5.6 lens? Would it be feasible to consider using one of the Canon 1.4x or 2x extenders to bump up the distance as opposed to packing an additional lens? I'm considering a trip to the Galapagos for early next year.

Thanks for the video. Very informative. If you mentioned a camera bag, I missed it. So. I'm wondering.

+Jim Keener Oh, I use a Naneu mountain bag. Great bag, but definitely not for everyone!

+Vittorio Sergi I don't. My ex used one, so I had one around in the past. But now I don't.
