Aimee - this is an excellent video. Not exactly the one I remember - it was 'TWIST AND CHOP' drill. Basically the same and this one was just as good and reinforced the principle I was looking for. Played yesterday and used that method on my iron shots and again, it worked every time. I am considering signing up for your MP Swing lessons. I live in upstate NY so will be putting my bag in hibernation soon but looking for some drills I can do in the house to keep my head and body 'in the game' til spring. I know you address all sorts of drills and think you even have yoga exercises to help. Thanks again for all your help. At my age (67) it is a dream come true to finally be able to play golf. - Maryanne
Loving these tutorials Aimee. You put things across so well. Ive been taking huge divots with my wedges and since shallowing them out Im hitting far less fat or bladed shots.
Thanks Aimee ,that totally explained why meydivots are actually shovelling dirt rather than proper divots. I was basically using hands and arms rather than body, followed by hands and arms
Aimee - I've been watching your videos which have been unbelievably helpful - I practice your drills and am now taking notes as there is so much to learn. There was a video on taking a divot where you used a 'twist and chop' motion - spotting the ball about 3-4" ahead of where it actually is. I believe you said twist and then 'chop' into that spot - not the ball. I cannot find that video - can you remember which is was - I find that so helpful and when I remember to do that - it ALWAYS works in using the loft to get the ball up. Thank you
Hi Maryanne, Thanks for your comment and the question. I wonder if it's this video you are talking about? ua-cam.com/video/UNd-PmorYdU/v-deo.html Hit Your Irons Higher & Longer! Let me know if it's not, I will look further into it! Thank you!!😊
One thing too I just learned the fact your legs are only slightly flexed and you aren't cramped together at address makes a big difference in the size divot you take. Its easier to maintain height and get a clean strike if your knees aren't overly flexed.
What's the proper divot with the putter? The course superintendent seems to frown on my putting green divots. I do seem to lose some club speed however.
Your divots are always in front of where the ball was. Is that important? Seems like you'd be hitting down on the ball. Shouldn't one try to help get the ball in the air, esp. with an iron?

loved that one, had never seen it before, now do a film on replacing a divot, as some men need a lesson

What a great swing!!
Nice swing!
Its hard to take divots here in Oklahoma, baked clay is hard to hit down in lol.
Thanks Aimee!
You could have mentioned something about the spin I've seen no divots on a short iron have just as much spin as short iron with divots
Nice one Aimee excellent explanation - Happy new year!
Do you ever do a video for seniors?

Joke right?
