0:31 What is the wood/color on this one? It looks like Walnut but I can't tell if it's maple or some other wood.

Any chance someone can post the specs on the table displayed? I especially like the shape of the pockets 😃

I really recommend buying a table from Heath manning. I’ve got one on order now and he has been nothing but helpful for me. The tables are pricey but nothing shoots like a diamond.

I'm trying to find out how to properly assemble my American heritage britton pool table. Im more concerned where and when to level it

I just a 7ft Pro-Am delivered and setup.Today after watching your video I checked all the leveling bolts. Almost all of them were completely loose and floppy. I went around and tightened all of these with my fingers. Should I tightened any further? The balls are rolling good and straight.

Why doesn't diamond make a .pdf style document with step by step set up protocols? I get that the wedges need to be firm and touching the slate. (on my table they are not which leads me to think it wasn't set up properly) I can hand tighten multiple wedges--Which I assume means they are not under pressure at all. However, the table was built on a wood floor and maybe it settled, I can't see how it would settle so much that the wedges are not even touching the slate and I can turn the screw many times over.

It's way too much adjustment. For most situations. I get it....but Most won't set a table up to use the shims. Also how would that setup work with a three piece slate?. Wouldn't it pop up the bee's wax in the joints??? Anyways most don't use the table shims. They are more familiar with setting the table strait on the bed. And shimming the slate the old way. If they have too. (Thats how I'd do it myself even.) My table has been in the same spot for 20 yrs. Never had to adjust over 20 spots to get it playing perfect. , hell the slate isnt even shimmed. ....this setup is for tables on tournament tours in big rooms that might have pretty uneven floors.

Id guess u have to shim then beeswax. Then if u ever have to adjust you have to tear the table down adjust. Re wax the joints and re cover the table.

How is the Diamond Professional compared to Brunswick Gold Crown 5 as far as playability?

    • @trple2

Played on a diamond tonight. Didn´t love it. Suppose it depends the way the pockets are cut but really it´s not pool. The setup if the pockets are tight and the shelf is deep youre essentially looking at snooker. Unless the table rolls perfectly, and tonights table did not, you do not get much of an advantage if you can slow roll the ball, play at pocket speed, or cheat the pocket. The best bet is hitting the ball firm to keep it on line and then hope if you miss by a bit it will rattle in from deep inside the shelf.
Diamond tables cut tight essentially play like snooker tables or Chinese 8 ball. If that´s your thing, great I guess, but it´s not quite pool the way anyone in America and around most of hte world knows it or plays it. Ranging from bar games to people playing casually at pool halls to top billiards in Asia...Diamond play is not the same game exactly.
It is my belief this is why so many of the modern pros are playing center ball with relatively uniform setups and stroking techiniques. And also why the snooker players seem to be able to transition with some success. It´s an aim and shoot game. Not my thing and takes a lot of the feel and creativity out of it.
By the way, to pre empt any comments...I played pretty well on it. Better than really anyone in the pool hall was...I think it was because I figured this out immediately. Other people were trying all kinds of bullshit wihtout realize you just aim, hit it firm, and then keep moving. Kind of like Eklent Kaci does. Nick Varner style play is not cut out for this kind of table, and that´s a shame.

Diamond tables come with tournament size pockets. It’s a $1000 option on gold crowns. Yes they are tight, but good players prefer that.

i disagree, crown allows people you cheat pockets and the rails bounce less.
20 years ago, brunswick was amazing.
today they run off name alone. There is a reason the vast majority of tournaments are on diamonds pro am.
Last little point, brunswixk has been naming their tables diamonds to try and play off the diamond name.
Not a single diamond table is named after brunswick

Diamonds Quality control is lacking. I just got a black pro-am that has brown debris is the finish..and has a 1' long gouge on one section and one of the legs has raw wood showing where they missed with paint...oh and all the wedges were completely loose.
