I'm doing well! I hope the video was helpful. I'm cancer free, have a full head of hair, and doing great. Just had a check up in January and I'm healthy. June 4th, 2013 will be the 3 year mark for finishing chemo and I plan to wear a headscarf in honor of all the women fighting cancer and doing it beautifully without a strand of hair on their head:)
Hi Esther! I just wanted to thank you about this video. My mom had a breast cancer operation 2 months ago. Started chemo 20 days ago and she just lost her hair last night. She is in Bulgaria and I am in Scotland, so, at this stage I wanted to give her ideas about good looks and your video is just THE VIDEO. Very happy for you being all well now. Be positive and be happy!
My sister just found out that she will lose her hair from her cancer treatment between now and Christmas. I was looking online for scarves for Christmas, then I saw this video. You are inspiring and I love your positive attitude. I think she will really appreciate this video. Really awesome ideas. Thank you!
My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 months ago and started chemo this week. She insisted on shaving her head so that her hair would be gone on her own terms, not chemo's, but she's had a rough time adjusting. She bought a head scarf because she's embarrassed to show her bald head but couldn't figure out how to wear the darn thing! My sister had talked to her about empowerment from baldness but right now my mom doesn't want to hear that from us. It was incredible to watch my mom's perspective and attitude change while she was watching your video because of how you talked about your own feelings on the exact same subject. You were the "real" voice she needed to hear, so thank you for sharing this video. Your upbeat, positive attitude along with your thoughts on your situation meant more to my mother, and also to me, than words can explain. Wishing you well. :)
I just got diagnosed with lymphoma and will lose my hair in a few weeks. Thank you for doing this video and sharing your strength, humor and positive attitude. You are an inspiration to all of your cancer sisters. God bless you!
Hi all, I just had a check up in January and I'm cancer free and feeling great. I'm sorry I'm not better at replying to each comment. I read every comment and I'm often touched by your stories and so happy my video is of some use! I so appreciate hearing each of your stories and they are an inspiration to me, truly. I'm sending good thoughts and energy out into the world for you brave, beautiful, and bald women:)
Thank you for this comment - I have just been scrolling through the comments looking for one from you saying you're ok. My mother and I and our family want to thank you - my mum has a rare (but very treatable) type of lymphoma and starts chemo soon, and has been told she will lose her hair (although it will grow back when her chemo is done in about 6 months). This video was fabulous and we really appreciated your confidence, attitude and sense of humour! As well as the awesome ideas for how to do scarves (we are establishing quite a collection of scarves and so are going to have to have fun trying out different styles!). Thanks for being awesome! x
I'll keep Tina in my thoughts and be one more fan in her corner! Onto the cancer ass kicking:) Go get it, Tina! David, I want to lift you up as well because an entire family is diagnosed when someone they love is told they have cancer. Kudos for being such an awesome hubby and ultimate support for her.
I was just complaining to my mom and crying because of my "fat" thighs and my "miserable " relationship with my bf... I came here somehow and now I feel really bad for complaining about such unnecessary things... You're really inspiring and I hope you're doing better! You seem like a person who chooses to live against all odds! 💜💚🙏🏽🙏🏽
I'm watching this 8 years on, and I want to believe this beautiful young woman has defeated cancer and is living a happy life. I lost my 20 yo daughter (my only child) to brain cancer 20 years ago and it still aches my heart every single day. Too many lost to the hateful C.
Esther, thank you so much. I love the T-shirt with the small accent scarf. I had cancer 2 x's and now Lupus. So my head has big bald spots, and is thinning a lot. With the T-shirt being made from cotton, awesome idea, and a awesome way to protect and cover my head rashes from the sun. Again, thank you for helping us all out. I wish you all the best. ~Elaine ♥
I am fighting balding due to cancer (although due to my heredity I would have gone bald anyway) I have watched MANY videos on scarves and wigs. I really like yours the best. You come across light-hearted and told us that with no hair is LIBERATING! What a word. Thank you.
I loved your ideas and your humor! The idea of losing hair from chemotherapy is not pleasant, but I'd rather deal with it with grace and humor, like you did! Your video was not only useful, but perked me up too! Thanks so much!
Thank you for leaving your video up and CONGRATS on being cancer free!! My mom was recently diagnosed with a lung cancer. As we get ready embark on her journey toward being cancer free your video is a blessing! If you're ever in Pittsburgh, PA we would love to meet you and show you around! God Bless You!
Thank you for this. I needed a how to guide. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last month and just recently shaved my head. Thank you for having such a great spirit and sharing with everyone.
Thank you so much..I start chemo on the 5 days I have breast cancer, I want to not only thank you for your great help but also you BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT!! You are the BEST!
I am too going through chemo and feel a positive attitude and sense of humour helps us through this journey. Don't lose your upbeat and positive personality - it will get you through this in no time. God Bless you!
First off, how adorable are you! Love your energy! Thank you! I, too , have stage 3 breast cancer. I prefer scarves and hats. Not a wig person. So to watch your suggestions was most helpful! I've been playing around to and I'm loving all the looks. I feel very comfortable going out in my scarves and hats with my big girl earrings. Some say I've taken 15 years off in my looks. We will get on the other of this. You are a rock start! Beautiful Lady!
Esther. My wife and I recently found out that she has breast cancer. She is having a lumpectomy as well as radiation, all beginning July 10th. I am so proud of how well she has been through this... family, friends, work... have all be supportive for her. She says she's ready to 'kick cancer's ass'. At the same time, she knows she has a battle. I searched for vids on supporting someone... your video is so inspiring. I can't wait for Tina to watch it. You'll inspire her greatly I'm sure. ty
OMG, totally brilliant !! I hope you realize how much you're blessing people, whether they have to wear the scarf for medical reasons or not. Thank you for sharing and I pray that all will be well for you. Hugs
Love this woman! So encouraging and easy-going. I am new to baldness, and her instructions seem pretty easy to follow. Most of all, I just loved her attitude! Thanks!
Esther Grabow, I would like to inform you of how wonderful you are. Thank you for sharing your knowledge while being venerable and super cute at the same time. I am an Oncology RN and will share your video to inspire other ladies (young and old) who are in the the same peach fuzz boat. You have made a difference.
Hi Esther, after watching several "how to" videos about scarves, I came back to yours specifically, to say thank you. There are a lot of us out here with cancer who need inspiration, not to mention help coping with chemo-induced hair loss. You've given us a generous gift. Wishing you all the best!
Hi Esther! You're a sweetie!!! I love your personality and your video was a joy to watch and share with my mother who was also recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She did the big buzz so we're looking for ways to make the change a little more bearable. We laughed together at your video and are excited to try your scarf tying tips. Thank you for sharing and looking forward to more videos even if it's just an update on your progress. Keep posting!
I've been diagnosed with Breast Cancer and will be starting treatment so i thought I better find out how to wear a scarf. Your how to video is awesome and even made me smile thank you and God bless 😆
Thank you, great service you are doing! I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and need Chemo, I will more then likely lose my hair too. Thank you for using that time on your hands do good, to share your wonderful personality with the world, to help other cancer survivors!
Thank you so much for posting this! It is very informative, helpful, and entertaining. I shaved my head today in support of a friend who is going through treatments and has lost hers. I am a hair stylist by triad and was a little at a loss for what to do now that my hair was in the trash. Thank you again and kick cancers butt!!!
Esther - excellent video! Love you're attitude! I'm 3 months into breast cancer treatment and really starting to love my shiny head! I'm loving my hats, but am glad to have found you to venture out into scarves for the upcoming warm weather. Hope your treatment went well and you're healthy now!
I came on line looking for head wrap how-to's for my sister who recently lost her hair to chemo. You are such a beautiful girl and an inspiration for anyone who watch your video! I wish you best of luck and pray for a life time of cancer free!
I just shaved my head to get ready for chemo and found this. Your friend was right in telling you to make this video because out of all the ones I have seen on scarf tying etc. yours is the best advice using the teashirt. Thank you so much. I love your humor about the comment going to a luau. Thank you
My sister is having brain surgery tomorrow, so I am looking at various videos on how to tie headscarves and such so I can help her with them. I am going to have her watch this video. She'll love it. And your positivity will surely help her feel better. Thank very much.
I was diagnosed with lymphoma in may at age 23. Your video is exactly what I was looking for, and for the exact same purpose. Thanks for being awesome :)
Thank you so much. My mom starts chemo next week and she has never tried to use a scarf on her head before and didn't have any idea how to tie it. This helped her see the ways make it beautiful and fun.
Esther, your positive attitude is inspiring and makes me smile! I am so tired of wearing a wig and bandanas. Thank you so much for sharing your scarf tying techniques. I'm thinking that with your help I don't care if I never have hair again!!
I've just been diagnosed with lymphoma and had my first lot of chemo yesterday. Hope your still cancer free. I loved the video. You've given me confidence to face whats coming and ideas on how to be stylish. Thank you xxx
This video was so incredibly inspiring for me. I just started chemo for ovarian cancer and have been completely traumatized just waiting for my hair to start falling out, but your video made me look at it in a little bit of a different light and I am already looking forward to shopping for some cute scarves in a bunch of different styles to have some fun with it. Thanks so much for the video!
i recently shaved my hair all off! I was sick of it! But now I don't know what ppl will think! No I dont have cancer but this was very enlightening to me! How strong you women are in overcoming such a terrible diagnosis! I will pray for your recovery! I mean that! I just don't want ppl feeling sorry for me because they will automaticly assume I'm going through chemo! More power to you ladies, what a great video!
Thanks, Esther! While I'm not undergoing chemo, I'm an older woman and my hair has thinned so much that you and I look just about the same up top! :) I've watched many tutorials on scarf tying... but they are usually done by those with a head full of hair. Your tips are exactly what I needed! Again, thanks for sharing and I'm putting good vibes into the universe for you. (I am a cancer survivor but was fortunate enough for it to have been caught very early... no chemo or rad. You guys are my heros! xo)
What a fantastic how-to video! I love your sense of humor. I am old enough to be your mom, but this is the first tutorial I can really relate to, the first that made me smile. I have recently been diagnosed with lymphoma and, following the first chemo, my hair is all over the place. Can't wait to try the t-shirt thing. Thank you for sharing and putting a smile on my face.
Thank you so much sweetie. I have stage 2 breast cancer and my hair is now coming out in GIANT clumps. I was always defined by my looks and hair now I have to look within. I want to thank you for your positive, young spirit. I will try the scarves for sure and I hope your treatment was a success so you can continue on with your LONG, happy life. Love, Lisa age a VERY young 47
This video changed my life. Well it changed the way I feel about my life. As you can see in my profile picture, my hair was mi biggest "accessory". It was always different, colors, extensions, cuts, etc. Losing my hair to cancer was heart breaking. Some people can really pull off that "I lost my hair to cancer and I can rock the bald look like nobodys business" look, but I am not one of them. Thank you for this amazing video. And for helping me find my new accessory. YOU ROCK!
Had my 2nd chemo today. The doc & nurse want me to be prepared as they say my hair will be coming out most likely in the next week. As a cancer patient, I'm ready to beat this. As a woman, I am scared. I haven't decided to go with wigs or scarfs and hats. So tonight I did a youtube search on how to wear scarfs & yours is the first one I have watched. I can't begin to tell you how much better I felt. You have a great attitude! And I realize now that my hair doesn't define who I am :) Thank you!
Wow!!! This "How To" is amazing!! My friend was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and we will be shaving our heads together the day after tomorrow. I will definitely be using your video!
Thank you SO mch for this video. my mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 2 months ago a,d with her first chemo treatment being 14 days ago, yestesrday her hair started falling out. She found this video and shared it with me and I couldn't help but think how inspirational and cute you were. Thank you for making this part of the journey fun and fashionable!! Please share more videos as you come up with new ideas! I wish you the best life possible and the strength to kick cancers ass lol
Thank you for your video! My mum is going through chemo now and we are encouraged by you, how instead of focusing on the sickness, you positively deal with it and creatively came up with the different ways to look beautiful and glorious! We are blessed by your sharing! God bless you!!
Your rock Ester! Doing a little research for a family member, her daughter's wedding is in two weeks and she's looking for some already-made head covers...but hard to find something that suits her dress. You make it look so easy and fast to do it yourself that she might feel comfortable try out with a fabric that she can choose herself! I will show her your video. Thank you! (BTW I loved what you said about feeling liberated and hair as safety blankets. Grazie again)
i just loved it, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months ago and with chemo her hair is starting to fall out, this is a great way to look and feel better i´ll make sure to teach her your way and to give her your possitive message!!! i just love it!!! she will be my beautiful peach fuzz!!! hope you are doing great!!!! and thnx one more time!
I got dianosed with lymphoma 6 weeks ago and after 2 lots of chemo my hair is just starting to fall out, at first this worried me and I thought I'd be stuck wearing a boring wig for the next year but I'm actually really looking forward to recycling all my old t-shirts that no longer fit me due to the weight I've lost, such a good idea and looks so comfortable. Your an absolute inspiration to other young ladies who have cancer like myself, and well done for having the balls to do this video :-) x
You have great spirit! I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and have recently started Chemo. My hair is just now starting to shed tremendously and I had no idea what to do with a scarf. Your video really helped! Now I know how to tie a scarf. I'm also about to look for some t-shirts that I can cut! lol Thank you!
We just love your style. You are so creative. Your accessories and the way you put your head scarfs on have been so impressive. My mother has just started losing her hair. They have given her some free hats at the hospital and she is supposed to go and look for some free wigs. She never ever knew how beautiful people can look with the scarves, as well as, the accessories. She was so impressed with you and your video and what you did with your scarves and accessories. We thank your precious honey. So sweet and so caring. We pray healing for you and pray that you are recovering. We would love updates.
Hi this video is awesome, my daughter has been diagnosed with breast cancer she is 23 years old and her hair has just started coming out, i have sent her a link to your video as i think she will relate to you with you being so young, you are truly an inspiration
Thank you so much! My mum's starting chemo for ovarian cancer in a couple of weeks. She's decided to just go with the hair loss rather than try the ice cap & be uncomfortable so this video is perfect for her!
Yay new ways to tie a scarf!!! Your video makes me so much less self conscious about my hair loss. Your confidence is contagious!! I am now super excited to try new ways to tie my scarves :)
I am shaving my head tomorrow as a fundraiser with some friends and i was getting so nervous about not having hair but now im on my way to buy more scarves and can't wait to try these out! Thanks so much for the awesome tips!
Thank u for this. I was looking for a how to do a head scarf for my mom who's about to lose her hair. She too was diagnosed with lymphoma. It was such a God send that your video was the one I picked. My mom and I watched it together and you taught us, my mom especially, how to do more than just a head scarf. Thank you so much. Wishing you all the best. May you continue to inspire others.
Esther Your brave , fabulous and beautiful with the head scarf, and earrings. I hope you are in remission now with your chemo and that is great you were able to move back home getting support from your parents and high school buddies. You have rocked the bald look. Hope Your Cancer Free Now
Ester, I just have to say thank you for doing this tutorial. My mom is going through chemo & is just beginning to lose her hair. We were going to just do the normal bandana style, not really knowing that there were other options. These styles are SO cute & really do look fashionable, not just like she's hiding her "baldness". I'm so excited to try these with her & so is she. Thanks for giving a lot of beauty back to all of the sweet ladies already dealing with so much.
Thank you! You're an inspiration! I'm going through chemo for breast cancer- I've lost my hair too... Thanks for posting the video- I'm going to go alter some t-shirts!!!
You are funny, and I felt much better after watching your video. Thank you and I'm lucky to have stumbled on this video. You made me feel better today, since I've been in self - pity today due to lack of hair. July 14, 2011, i was diagnosed with breast cancer, last friday i shaved my head. Yesterday I went it to work with a scarf and felt really self conscious. i'm going to post this to my favorites so i can watch this again when i need some inspiration. Hope you are living life to it's fullest.
So inspiring! My hair started falling out on the weekend and until listening to you, I was in a dilemma as whether to shave it off or just wait! But thank you - feel I'm ready to cut it and dump it rather than leave it all over the house :)
I was just diagnosed with Lymphoma a few days ago and I'm mostly scared of losing my hair. Your attitude is amazing and I will be thinking of you and your spirit in the months to come. Thanks for putting this out there.
Yes! For a not so great with her hands cancer patient, I love watching how you do that thing you do. I'm a little weirded out by all this baldness so it's fun to hear and see your humor and openess. Thanks for teaching me new things!
Thank you so much for this video..my friends hair from cheemo is really falling out today so watching this helped us play with her box of scarves of different lengths. I also have alopecia so finding interesting ways to look fashionable was really helpful! May you stay cancer free and all the blessings and thank you again this was so helpful.
You are fantastic. My mom was just diagnosed with cancer and has enlisted me, her daughter, for some help with some head covering options. I have been doing a little research and stumbled on your video. Thank you so much for your tips and your spirit. This is the best and most directly helpful video I have seen to date.
I love love love this video and your attitude towards your new look. I'm a few days away from my peachfuzz. I'm still in college...and people are going to be pretty shocked when I come in to class next week! I hope I have the same confidence and beauty that you have. Thank you for being an inspiration to all of us cancer patients! ~Samantha-breast cancer survivor since 12/13/11!
Thank you for this video, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and have lost my hair and seem to tie my scarves the same way. Thank you the the cool ideas and good luck in your treatment ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
Very Awesome Esther... I wish you love and healing and hope that you are back enjoying your life after cancer, this was an amazing video and your attitude is so very uplifting. Thank you very much! God Bless you young lady!
I got diagnosed with breast cancer in March and going to chemo in May. Your video really perked me up! Thanks for sharing, it's really good stuff & keep up the good humour. Get well soon :)
Thank you so much for such an encouraging, joyful video. I have just been diagnosed with breast cancer and chemo begins for me in the next couple of weeks, so I must soon say good-bye to my lovely hair. Your attitude is so amazing and the scarf techniques look so fun and pretty and not too hard. Best wishes to you! Please consider making another video about anything!
Thank you so much for sharing. I have to wear hats whenever I go outside due to skin cancer. We are praying for you and your family. God bless and continue being awesome.
Awesome job! You’re a natural! Honestly kept me smiling the entire time and got a great idea for my old T-shirts instead of turning them into rags! Thank you so much. I hope you’re feeling well , I will keep you in my prayers xoxo.
Thank you so much, I was having a crisis of confidence with my wig, so I followed your guide and had so many compliments on my headscarf - even from the hospital staff 😊
Your amazing!!! What a refreshing attitude you have. My mother in law has just started chemo and is not looking forward to loosing her hair. But we have been looking at headscarfs for around the house for her to wear. And this has been extremely helpful. Thank you. And God bless. Xx
Thank you for making the video. I have Hodgkin's Lymphoma & my hair started falling out on Saturday. It's been hard, but you make this look really cute! I was worried that I wouldn't be able to figure out how to tie a scarf & now feel better about it. Thank you for doing this.
Thank you sooooo much for this, Esther....I shaved my hair off for kids with cancer in honor of my mom who passed away from Leukemia....I needed a scarf tutorial and this perfect.....you are absolutely gorgeous...the t-shirt idea is great for myself, who tends to ruin my shirts....I pray you are doing wonderful and are in remission.
you are just plain wonderful...I enjoyed your scarf tying very much..I am older and losing my hair..sigh...and crochet dozens of hats..am ready to tackle the scarf as a change.and do it with the same panache as you do!!! Bless you and keep you ...xx

You are a very good speaker. You have a lovely personality and you are easy to watch and listen too. 😀🙂😉
You have a beautifully ethereal sculpted face and head!!!!!
You are gorgeous!
And, your sense of humor is addictive!
Esther, thank you so much. I love the T-shirt with the small accent scarf. I had cancer 2 x's and now Lupus. So my head has big bald spots, and is thinning a lot. Thank you for all the helpful info. I have breast cancer and have not had much luck with scarves. This helped a LOT!! Thank you.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!! I just started losing my hair from chemo and you just made a bad day soooooo... much better. You are GREAT!
You're adorable! Thanks so much for the ideas. My chemo starts soon. Bless you Sweetie ♡
Thanks for your video. I've undergone surgery and need to cover my head. You have an awesome personality that shines thru. You're pure joy to watch!
Thank you for sharing!! Recently diagnosed with breast cancer, will be undergoing chemotherapy soon. You are an inspiration and truely beautiful!!
Grazie again)
i was just diagnosed with lymphoma last week, thank you so much for making this video!!! exactly what i was looking for
This makes me smile. Love your attitude. I was diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Very helpful tips :)
As a newbie to this, your video was just what I needed to get my creative juices flowing and stop the pity party! Thanks Ester and All the Best!!!

What a gorgeous lady, inside and out.
She's decided to just go with the hair loss rather than try the ice cap & be uncomfortable so this video is perfect for her!
awesome. I wish I had that much creativity when I had cancer. we gotta spread this knowledge.
Yay new ways to tie a scarf!!! Your video makes me so much less self conscious about my hair loss. Your confidence is contagious!! I am now super excited to try new ways to tie my scarves :)
Thank you SO much for sharing this. I was recently diagnosed w/breast cancer & will start chemo soon. You're AWESOME!!! #GoPink!!!

Esther
Your brave , fabulous and beautiful with the
head scarf, and earrings.
I hope you are in remission now with your chemo
and that is great you were able to move back
home getting support from your parents and
high school buddies.
+jackieebarnes good luck!! stay strong!!

I like your sense of humour. I definitely laughed out loud a few times.
Thanks for the tips!!

Great tutorial! I have breast cancer, and started chemo, last week! Head is starting to itch, and wanted to get some ideas! Thank you!
