I really liked brutal obsession. I had serious love/hate feeling for Greyson. I haven't brought myself to read the rest of the series yet. Thanks for the rec's, I always love your energy. I understand what you mean about books being sort of formulaic , I don't think I really mind. I don't really like high angst and I hate cheating, so I can usually enjoy it anyway. Oh nooo, The Bonus was one of my top reads this year, the chemistry was definitely there, the banter, the humor and the romance was exceptionally done! Only critique was the length, it could have been shorter but I really didn't mind much.
With the Bonus- I love the audio, Lately Ive been getting away from the Mafia books for the same reason you have said, Look into Wild by Adrienne Wilder a MM survival story in Alaska. I think Alaska stories should be their own trope- they are in my TBR at least. I loved Nikki Sloanes, Redemption with McAlister, I doubt there is a yummier Daddy out there- and Sophia and his story was just Chef's kiss. Sugar Baby by Harley Maddison is simply pure erotica but not boring. But my favourite trope lately has been Cowboy ones, You have got to try Sovereign by Roya Morris Edwards and then the Chasing the Wild series by Rose Elliot. they arent predicable totally morally grey characters esp Sovereign. And we deserve characters that keep us hooked to the last page. Happy Christmas Mary xx

Oh! Thank God am not alone on My Temptation by TL Swan 😅.... that was my first and only book I've read by the Author, and honestly at the time it turned me off from reading anything else by her. I read reviews on the next book on the series, and people were saying it was worse 🤷♀️. I like the author's writing style so can anyone tell me if her other books are better?
Her best book imo is Mr Masters, but 2 others that are also really good and unique are Dr Stanton & The Takeover. All her other books just feel basically like she's repeating the same things over and over with the same @sshole manwh*re heroes

If you haven't already and want a good dark romance... Read The Edge of Darkness Trilogy by Leigh Rivers. So FUCKING GOOD. I felt every feeling reading those books... Trilogy follows the same couple throughout.
Don’t sleep on S Massery that Dark Hockey series had me at a grip Jacob Miles and Knox had the best stories out of the series in my opinion 😊those 3 are definitely worth the read

i primarily read dark romances as well, and this year has been extremely lackluster when it comes to new releases. they all feel “meh” to me😑
