Around 14:00 she says: (paraphrased) "Resistance is a sign that you are expending too much energy, rather than a sign that you need to push/resist even further, as most people think. The best way to get over resistance is by determining what it is that you're afraid of happening, and sitting with it, imagining it actually happening, and then letting go -- becoming ok with the idea of it actually coming to pass." Initially I thought, "but a lot of different belief systems tell us that our thoughts shape our realities, which is why those people say NOT to entertain these ideas -- so wouldn't imagining them coming to fruition, especially in detail and from an emotional place, cause it to actually manifest?" Then I thought about it a bit longer. I learned in Psychology 101 that it's very difficult to force oneself to stop thinking about something -- so in this scenario, by trying to force yourself to stop thinking about the thing you are most afraid of, you'll end up thinking about it quite regularly (which would then become an anxiety). One of the ideas behind talk therapy is that by getting to the root of the issue (the fear) and talking about it, one can face and overcome the fear, so that it doesn't nag at the person anymore. I think THAT is exactly what Marie is saying to do, and why her "face your fear, accept, and let go" method works for her. Once you get to a place where you actually, truly face and get over your fear ("let go"), it won't manifest because you've "learned the lesson" that the universe wanted you to learn. And if you didn't truly let go, you'll know, because the fear will still be there, the resistance and the anxiety will still be there surrounding that thing! I hope this helps someone else who was questioning the same thing.
