So why go with that narrative?! Especially as the fact is, we dont have anything to do with Eastern Europe, except for the fact that our languages have the same, Slavic roots! Everything else- history, culture, alphabet, religion etc. is totally more Central/West! Not that there is anything wrong with any Eastern country, but we are just not IT!

Eastern Europe in American terminology is how they classify everything eastern from Berlin wall, and that it was a communist country or satelite of Soviet Union + for whatever reason, Hungary (yeah it makes no sense). So, Czech Republic is eastern Europe, but Austria is not. It's the terminology coined for American publicity to help them understand where country stands in relation to US, it's from the time of cold war and they continued to use it.

Yes, the waterfalls at Plitvice are wonderful. You can stay at a hotel within earshot of the falls and fall asleep in your room listening to them.
