Song probably composed by Walter Vinson and Lonnie Chatmon. Song first issued by the Mississippi Sheiks (OKeh 8784, 1930). (Song attributed to “Jacobs-Carter” on OKeh 8784 label; Walter Vinson’s mother’s maiden name was Jacobs and one of Lonnie Chatmon’s brothers, Armenter Chatmon, used the pseudonym of Bo Carter.)
