They bleached the flour with stuff that caused seizures for decades…..finally switched to a different method/chemical. The story of how they messed with our flour is just as interesting as the milk issue. Behind it all was money and shelf life
Yes! I've been milling my own for for 6 months and inspired a handful of others to start as well. Best change of my life! The food is divine and I feel like I'm feeding my kids actual food
My husband and I have started praying about getting a milk cow. I've been reading the book 'Keeping a Family Cow' and then last night we watched this video. Today I'm going to go buy some untreated (raw) milk to do more research. You were milking your cow in the video and I asked my husband, could you see me doing that? He said, absolutely. ❤️. Thank you for your videos.
Amen! Love hearing the truth on raw milk. Off subject, but I have to give you a huge thank you for your sourdough videos. At 64 years young, I just baked a perfect loaf of sourdough bread. It was my 4th loaf, learning something with each attempt. Your instructions were easy to follow and to the point! I'm so excited!!! Thank you! I have huge respect for you as a mother and wife.
I got my first dairy cow about 16 years ago because I couldn’t source it in Maryland legally. I participated in a raw milk peaceful protest and rallied in front of the USDA building. Here we are now being able to sell it as “pet milk” and I’m so thankful we at least have that loophole to now provide customers with raw milk “legally”…to their PETS of course 🤣
I would love if you did a Q/A video! I have so many questions and i know you’re the lady with the answers. I’m only 19 but I love your channel, I found it about a year ago. Me and my boyfriend dream of having a life like yours one day and I am inspired by the way you mother your children and your way of life!
I just found your channel and it looks fascinating, but you had me at “they” don’t want you to know 😂 sounds like my kind of people over here. Thank you for sharing!
I've been sourcing raw milk locally for 17 years! I'm so thankful for the folks who keep cows/goats and sharing with those of us who aren't set up to keep a family dairy animal❤❤
Thank you for this information, Stephanie. I’ve learned so much from you! You’ve probably done a video on all the benefits of raw milk already, I’ll look back at your others, but would love to hear about that as well.
Hello! Off topic for this video but I was wondering if you have ever shared recipes or tips on how to cook the “less desirable cuts” cow tongue, tail ect. We freeze dry and make into a powder all the liver and heart and it’s a great way to get it into our meals everyday. Kids don’t even notice.
@HopewellHeights I've made about four Derby cheddar cheeses and I still feel like I don't know what I'm doing completely LOL! If you don't already, I highly recommend following @MILKslinger I think you would enjoy her videos! ~jc
I don’t know anyone in my area where I can buy raw milk. Your point about how cows are cared for is true that’s why I can’t drink raw milk I don’t know how the cows are being cared for. If I had my own cow I would. So I make my own almond milk from my friends almond farm - and I make my own coconut milk. ❤ baby is walking my goodness 😮
Thank you lady, I make your home laundry detergent-love it, I also picked up important info from you when my starter was not doing well...very good info all the time, and now raw milk benefit reminder, appreciate your work!
I just need you to know how much you inspire me. I've now made your artisan bread recipe twice now and had success both times! Thanks to you I've made sourdough and am buying farm fresh eggs and now I'm going to start buying raw milk locally (near KC MO). I'm eating more meat (100% grass fed beef) and I just feel better overall. I was vegan for several years and really messed up my hormones and I've had a lot of gut issues. It's amazing the amount of brainwashing pushing these plant based diets and for me it was not a solution..thank you for sharing this very valuable information with all of us! God Bless you and your family!
This video could not have come at a better time since I have my raw milk order pick up tomorrow morning. First time with a local farmer and I’m super excited.
I was about to try raw milk for the first time when I found out I was pregnant. I'm waiting until he's here to try it, since I haven't used this small farm before. ❤ (I know raw milk is safe, but I have no experience with this lady, so I'm waiting)
I love your Miraculous Medal! Where did you get it? Supper glad to see your still with us. I was raised on raw unpasteurized milk (which I had to milk) until I was 9. It was even served at lunch in school. The first time I saw milk in a carton I didn't know what it was. When I tasted it, I thought it was the worst thing I had ever consumed! My mother wasn't very happy with me for spitting it out at the table. 🥴
Happy Friday! I absolutely looove the hay fort/shoot ‘em out scene with your boys. Made me smile big! Mama of 5 sons here. ✋🏼 My boys would totally be into this. Enjoy them while they’re young! Mine are 32-19 now. Time goes by TOO fast. 💙
I just came to this same conclusion on selling FD milk… especially since at my farmer’s market anyway - they restrict anything that needs refrigerated. Always love your videos and providing the awareness!❤
I'll have my kids sit and watch your educational videos for homeschooling Steph, you're one of a kind! Good on you! Thank you for such a brilliant video. Any chance you could make a playlist for all your whole-food education videos?

Absolutely love your videos and I have learned so much. I just made your laundry detergent and I’m so excited to supply my family with a healthier option and not buy it at the store! I noticed you labeled your milk 2024 which made me laugh cause I write the wrong date all the time😂
I am not Steph but I use my FD milk (not raw unfortunately but works just the same) in cooking , baking, drinking and reconstituting at different strengths for things like coffee cream and such. It's the fat level that affects use but you can add as much water as you'd like to get whatever thickness you prefer. It's SO convenient!
I used to raise dairy goats and i sold raw organic milk. Such a delicacy. My daughter is turning 4 next month and officially weaning. We have some miniature indian zebu cows that were intended to drive but they were so stubborn that they ended up being novelty pets at this point. Id love to go back to goats again. I drank some a2 milk the otherday that was given to me as a gift and tore my stomach up within minutes. Im new to my area and honestly dont really trust others to handle their animals or milk in a way that id trust to drink it. I used to offer free tours and education so folks could learn before getting into something they arent ready to handle. I love the idea of you teching your daughter to milk❤
Remember that your stomach is also not accustomed to milk in its potent raw form. I would take any new food in its raw untouched form slow, if I lived in a society where EVERYTHING is tampered with and/or processed. 😫
I grew up drinking raw milk from glass jars. I remember them fondly. My parents were friends with a dairy farmer from their CB Radio club. It was delicious. I miss it.
Hi Stephanie, my name is Tiffany 😃 I’m wondering, do you have a video about growing strawberries? I started with seeds indoors last February and began having strawberries in the summer. I wish I could grow a strawberry bush, any suggestions please?
I have had my freezer dryer for 3 years and freeze drying breast milk is actually a very big reason people buy them! It's very commonly discussed in fd communities
There’s a difference between a dairy that has been inspected and certified for raw milk production and a regular dairy that has pre pasteurized milk. If milk was expected to stay raw, I would assume it was be handled better.
Loved the milking tour. So neat to watch. We have goats, and I milk them when they produce enough to milk. We have a mini zebu, but I have never milked her. Eventually, I would like to get a stanchion made and work with her. I heard their milk is A2A2, but I am not sure if that is true.
Happy to see a new video! I always learn so much! My breastmilk didn't come in with my 32 week nicu twins despite pumping.. they have a "milk protein allergy" which i know is just because of the process store bought milk goes through...if i had an a2a2 dairy cow and had freeze dried milk I'd have saved sooooooo much money. Even still after their first bday we are paying $5/half gallon of soy milk every day. 😮
Here in Australia it is illegal to sell raw milk. It’s so ridiculous. When my kids were little we were part of a ‘share cow’ program where we purchased two shares in a cow and we were delivered four litres of milk weekly. So my kids fortunately grew up drinking raw milk….until the damn government took the farmer to court and shut him down.
I would give the world for raw milk!! We buy 9 gallons a week of whole milk. I raised all seven of my babies on whole milk.... I didn't put them on formula. They are all strong, healthy... no allergy issues at all. I would do it all over again if need be. There were many times we were so dirt poor that whole milk was all I could afford to feed them!! But raw milk is sooo good!!!
Raw milk is a rich source of nutrients that bacteria absolutely thrive in. It is a body fluid that contains all the bovine hormones one would expect from a mother cow. Pasteurization kills the bacteria and viruses by warming the milk to 180F.
I live in Canada where raw milk is illegal. Such a shame. 😢 I am 48 years old and I remember when I was little (when it wasn’t illegal) my mom bought raw milk in huge jars from a local farmer. Best milk ever and I have fond memories of making butter with the cream!
Great content and topic of discussion. Thank you for the interesting facts about Raw milk. We love Raw milk and buy it locally. Although one day I would hope to have my own dairy cows.
I dont know anything about freeze-drying, but doesnt that sort of cook the milk, reducing the benefits of fresh and raw? Genuinely curious, and ignorant of the freeze-drying process
Have you heard of raw goat milk being used for babies if the mother couldn't produce her own breast milk or she couldn't find another mother who could share their breast milk?
Years ago my grandpa had goats and he would share milk with a family that had a baby that needed it. I don't remember the circumstances behind it but I remember him doing it.
Donated breast milk is 100% better because it's made specifically for human infant consumption in terms of its composition of nutrients. There are milk banks in all the states if you're in the US that you can look up, or yes finding a friend who has extra supply
I just returned to Canada after travelling to the US. No wonder you drink raw milk. I bought organic milk there and it totally destroyed my stomach. Had to stop drinking milk while I was there. The US has certainly ruined so much of your food. Canada is not perfect but so much better than the US. Every time I travel there my stomach is ruined 😮
I believe “they” are ultimately trying to shut down anyone keeping food-producing animals on either small hobby farms/private homesteads in order to force us to be reliant on “approved” factory farms. There is also a vaccine link… lots of info on sites like brighteon about this!
Hello from France, we have a local farmer who we can get raw milk from though he's not certified organic and he probably does feed his cows grain. I went to see him milk them with machines and saw their conditions. They were well taken care of. He filled a gallon from his reservoir where all the milk he had just gotten from his cows went. Would you still drink it raw even if it's not perfect, organic, hand milked, etc?
I buy A2 milk at the store, I have very slow digestion and diverticulitis it’s horrible I need linzess the highest dosage to go to the bathroom I try eating healthy and exercise, do u have any suggestions of what I can buy or do the linzess makes me feel like a stuffed turkey but also greatfull for it.Tfs this content.
Mother's milk is always best, so why wouldn't fresh cow's milk be..? Agreed it is in what they're being fed. God bless the mothers who are watchful of all the toxic things in this world.
I think if I want a food product to last 10-20 years I would use sterile gloves to touch them so much. Cheese molds much quicker if handled more often. Idk no research on this at all I would just be nervous to touch so much even with wash hands.
She was very pregnant a year ago with the baby she’s holding in this video. So it’s not old, she just made a little goof. I’m sure she fixed it after editing 💕
I know beneficial bacteria can be killed in the process of pasteurization, but I'd rather have less risk of getting sick. Vomiting and food poisoning in general are huge fears of mine so I try to avoid any scares. The risk of raw milk is higher than pasteurized for concerns such as salmonella, ecoli, listeria, etc...
@@mskippithey aren't all lies, let people have concerns about this. I have a small dairy and have never gotten sick from drinking raw, but my mentor has had campylobacteriosis multiple times, for whatever reason she's susceptible to this and has to be very careful around raw anything b/c her immune and digestive systems are so jacked up. I'm not going to gaslight people into thinking there is zero risk in raw milk due to personal dogma.
@@keekeejenkins6162 yes this. I understand the appeal of supporting your microbiome with extra good bacteria. I've just had horrific food poisoning before that scared me so bad.
We have a farm locally where the cows are grass fed and the milk is low temp, slowly pasteurized and it’s not homogenized so the cream is on top. While it does kill some bacteria, I imagine is better than the hot temp short method and the fat content is normal. Also it’s not fortified which can be an issue for many people. This may be a good in between for you 😊.
I watched you video and then saw this a day later. As a lover of well assembled info this is a good addition to what you spoke about. Knowledge is power:) ua-cam.com/video/B2mAZJEYa9s/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
I really like your content, and I appreciate your knowledge, however, I am sorry but I have to strongly disagree with your premise because it focuses on "Fresh Milk" from the cow.. and that is not where the danger is. Pasteurization is about preventing Proliferation of detrimental bacteria... it is a preventative to the risk of delayed delivery and improper handling and lack of refrigeration FOR THE MASSES! It is NOT about your "Fresh" milk straight from the cow... that is usually safe! While I do agree that historically, the level of city's sanitation was very poor in the past, that doesn't change the fact that the harmful bacteria that infect milk (or really almost any food) are found everywhere naturally. It only takes 1 finger to touch the ground or dirt, or anything really, and then dip it into the milk. Now, that won't cause a problem immediately. So you are right about that part. But, the problem here is that NOT everyone is going to freeze dry their milk immediately after milking the cow... and we don't all have a cow either! So, where I disagree is that Cow Milk is pasteurized to destroy bacteria that are in the milk so that they don't have a chance to Proliferate during the time it takes to get it from the Farm, to the average non-cow owning person... Obviously, minus the garbage unscrupulous sellers put in the milk as additives. I do however, love your idea for freeze drying the milk. Thank you for this interesting video.
I keep clabber (room temp milk that's never been refrigerated) on my counter at all times and use it for baking, cheesemaking, straining into yogurt or cheese, etc. The beneficial bacteria in raw milk from healthy cows prevent spoilage and contamination!
They bleached the flour with stuff that caused seizures for decades…..finally switched to a different method/chemical. The story of how they messed with our flour is just as interesting as the milk issue. Behind it all was money and shelf life
Yep! Putting profit over people isn't ok and yet that's become the standard, sad!

Haha its so hard to get the year right in January!
Will you do a video showing how you use the dried milk? :)
I refuse to let my kids drink pasteurized milk lol. I'm the opposite. To me, it's a dangerous dead non-food when it's NOT raw 😅
I agree 100%

but anyways, your channel is one of my faves! appreciate your content!
up here in Canada, unfortunately it's illegal to sell it! Our government doesn't want us consuming healthy foods!
Steph, love the color of your shirt. Where or what brand is it.
I keep working on my husband to agree to a dairy cow when we get our land.
We have been drinking raw milk and eating raw dairy for about two years now. So important for growing kids :)
thank you! it's Our Lady of Guadalupe from House of Joppa
I'd be a proud mom too, once you've had the real thing you can't go back!
I am wanting to live similarly to how you do with a modern kitchen. Could you share what your electric costs are?

Yes it is a2. I also have a small herd of zebus.
oh how fun! it's amazing how many different kinds of mammals are milked around the world - some people even milk reindeer!
I have a question: I drank raw milk for first time and have to run to the bathroom a few times. Is that normal or will a person adjust to it?
My cats are old Pennsylvania Amish barn cats, and they will not touch any pasteurized dairy!

Enjoyed.

The US has certainly ruined so much of your food. Canada is not perfect but so much better than the US. Every time I travel there my stomach is ruined 😮
Our food system is so broken! I hope to see top down reform but for now we just have to do what we can on a grassroots level!
Off topic, but does anyone know what this "bird flu" going around is really about ?
I believe “they” are ultimately trying to shut down anyone keeping food-producing animals on either small hobby farms/private homesteads in order to force us to be reliant on “approved” factory farms. There is also a vaccine link… lots of info on sites like brighteon about this!
What did you do to the dog? (0:58 sec)
Probably popped her for biting - she's still got lots of puppy in her!
I would have to be able to see the farm and know the farmer to make a decision!
Did you mean to put 2025 on the date for that jar of freeze dried milk? Or was this video a year old?
It's still January.... does anyone really have the new year down yet? I never do.
She was very pregnant a year ago with the baby she’s holding in this video. So it’s not old, she just made a little goof. I’m sure she fixed it after editing 💕
I was just coming to say this. It’s important to make sure the labels are correct.
yes and I'm glad you all caught it, it always takes me a month to get the date right after a new year!
💜💜💜💜💜
Oh god our house is buried in snow 13 feet of it lol
I JUST DON'T BELIEVE, THE BABY IS TRYING TO WALK. YOU JUST HAD HIM, HE'S KEEPING UP WITH THE KIDS.
All of that is untrue, just lies spread by government.
@ understand but perhaps some have allergies.
Knowledge is power:)

I agree especially with the bird flu outbreak that is spreading to the cattle 😮
