I've just heard the whole VAR conversation and Howard Webb's explanatiom too and it sounds absolutely crazy.
It almost looks as they wanted to MAKE penalty for Newcastle.
One VAR guy said it was clear offside, but then the other guy tunes in how he didn't make an offside incidend even though he was in an offside position.
Then why do you call a foul, and a penalty, when he would make an offside foul when recieving the ball after being in an offside position?
Shouldn't the offside position cancel the foul made by the Bournemouth player, not the other way around? How does the foule erase the offside when he was in an offside position when the pass was made?
Crazy.
