- The New York Giants are heading into the 2023 NFL season surprisingly with lower expectations to many than they even had last year. But with the NY Giants 2023 training camp kicking off, and the preseason right around the corner, Brian Daboll, Daniel Jones, & Saquon Barkley might just have a supporting cast unlike we’ve seen by their side before.
To start with the New York Giants offense, while their passing game has been the untrusted aspect of their team, new additions in Darren Waller, Paris Campbell, Jamison Crowder, Cole Beasley and rookie Jalin Hyatt are going to add a very interesting dynamic to both the capabilities of Daniel Jones and even the playcalling of HC Brian Daboll. And that’s not even considering the returning WRs in Isaiah Hodgins, Sterling Shepard, Daniel Bellinger, Wan’Dale Robinson, etc.
And then even when discussing the New York Giants defense heading into 2023, new additions in guys like CB Deonte Banks from the draft, and even Bobby Okereke, to pair alongside Kayvon Thibodeaux, Dexter Lawrence, Adoree Jackson & Xavier McKinney, NYG is looking to exceed expectations this year. And whether Giants practice and training camp highlights are giving us any hints of what’s to come, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Won't lie. I think Hyatt has raised my expectation level for the Giants too much. With him and Slayton over the top. Shep Waller Campbell Wandale Hodgins and maybe Beasley working the middle. Saquon, Grey and DJ coming out the backfield. This offense could really explode if the Oline gels and DJ pocket awareness is better

Can't stop everyone on the offense at once
Belly was the best receiver last year. Add to him Waller who can’t be covered, Hyatt who is faster, and then two excellent veterans who will be wide open in Beasley and Campbell. Kafka and Daboll working their genius, Ds won’t be ready for the throwing game this year.
Hodgins was considering the amount of time he actually played but otherwise it was Darius Slayton.

As I scroll through the multitude of Giants fan and sports fan pages, this keeps coming up (Jo es can't throw well, can't go deep), and I have been screaming .... "YES, HE CAN." The fact is he hasn't had decent players to throw too or a consistent offense to get comfortable with. I feel like Hones will surprise and surpass all expectations this year.

This could all blow up. Or this could pan out better than anyone could imagine. If players stay available. And play to their potential. The Giants offense could be pretty scary
I just don't see how it blows up considering this will be largely the same offensive unit with the addition of playmakers under a 2nd year in the same Kafka/Daboll scheme. We were a bottom 10 offense last year, no WAY we go lower
@@Talkin_Loud If Waller gets hurt. If Campbell gets hurt. If Saquon gets hurt. Or any combination of them with injury issues gets hurt. This could start to devolve a bit. Or. If Jones is just putting on a really good show at being much improved at camp. Because right now he looks sharp. If somehow he is tricking us. This goes south. As a Giants fan, I just feel like this is all too good to be true at the moment. I don't think it will fall apart. But somewhere in the back of my head the urge to stay pessimistic is still there. One more season defying the expectations. And I'm fully sold on Dabes n Co for the rest of my life
@@Soupkid91 I understand your pessimism after a decade of mediocrity and shit. But last season we lost both Shep and Wan'Dale within the first 3-4 weeks and DJ was limited to bottom depth chart receivers and still took us to the postseason and got us a win. All while our defense continually lost starters to injury as well. I'm fairly optimistic after seeing how disciplined DJ was last season

Although there are still areas of concern, there’s no denying that this GM and Coach are working to develop depth, as well as changing the mindset of the entire team.
What concerns me (aside from potential injuries, a concern every year), is the schedule.
As long as the team shows effort and stays in games, something like last year’s record should be attainable.
I agree, the schedule is tough but I think they can do it if they stay healthy. Daboll is a good coach.

I see the giants improving drastically. Am I afraid that they can't replicate the same kind of success as last year? Yeah, but I just have to have faith in the coaches. I do believe that Daboll can get this team going again, and with all the amazing additions, I'm sure it will be even better.
With a little luck that results in less injuries as well as Evan Neal and JMS doing well this offense is going to be a powerhouse this season. I'm thinking 10 to 11 wins.

They will be a better team but there schedule is brutal compared to last year. It will be a tough hill to climb.

I expect the Giants offense to resemble the 2017 Chiefs Offense this year. They have the pieces to make it work.

Andrew Thomas = Eric Fisher role
Darren Waller = Travis Kelce role
Jalin Hyatt/ Slayton= Tyreek Hill role
Saquon = Kareem Hunt role
Not bad just think he has more upside because of running ability

Alex Smith was never great deep ball thrower I think Danny can efficient like Smith but be much more dynamic and better because he's an accurate deep ball passer and you'll see that this year and obviously his legs which Smith never had no pun intended, I don't really think the comparison is fitting tbh just the efficiency part
@@charlesbarkley223 2017 was the year Andy Reid incorporated air raid concepts to the offense to transition to Patrick Mahomes. There were surprise deep shots from Alex Smith that year. Btw why do people forget Alex smith was mobile. He had a faster 40 than Daniel jones.

As a giants fan I hope that we do really well and the improved air attack will help a lot but considering we have one of the hardest schedules this year I’m not sure

Their schedule is absolutely brutal. I think they are much improved but the beastly schedule is going to mitigate that.
There is so much schemes they could run it's crazy, they can high low with freaking tight ends so imagine Barkley and two other receivers in the field....

We have a much improved roster with more offensive and defensive opportunities. In the end it'll come down to execution and availability. I know that we're in good hands with this new regime. I'm not one to predict records but I do expect us to play good football.

I'm a die hard fan,and I have faith that the New York Giants are going to make some noise! I believe that they can make the playoffs and even win the super bowl! But I will be happy with if they can get there and even if they don't win! I will be so grateful for them just making there!!
Saquon and Jones are huge threats on the ground and we have a lot of potential in the receivers and TEs. Not to mention the offensive line should be improved, as well as the defense.
The NY Giants are going to have a good season.
The last what 5-6-7 years, going into the season was always a let down cause we never had an O-Line we were confident about. This year, oh yes. If Neal improves and our rookie center is ad advertised. We at worst have a mid grade O-Line instead of a bottom 10 O-Line, more toward bottom 5 really. All indications are that the WR corps is VASTLY improved. We start popping off 30-40 yard pass plays. Quads will have a field day out of the back field. No more stacking the box or you done.
Hopefully, we stay healthy. The good thing is we can stay fast on O. If a couple WR's go down we still have speed to back them up. who will teams double team? Waller? Quads? Hyatt? You can't take everyone out of the game.

His rookie year he had the best completion percentage on the deep ball. We could see him air it out thisyr now that he has his wr and his contract

Bottom line is more TD production with increased yds in the air. This will create more offensive balance which stresses a defense. I think they have enough pieces to make that jump. Maybe not enough to challenge the Eagles for the Div but enough to compete for a wild card. We shall see ! One game at a time and keep building.

Yeah, all this fire power is great, but only if the OL stays healthy and does a good job. But my favorite part of a football team is the defensive line. Can't wait to watch that.

Giants got O line , WRs, running back, and a QB and hella good defense They are in the same page too. It’s hard not to pick Giants to win the Division. Cowboys I only feared Micah parson. I agree. The run defense was bad last year. They did sign Bobby Okereke who is a top run stopping linebacker and did sign a couple of veteran defensive tackles who are run stuffers. Hopefully that is enough to improve the run d. Second off ball linebacker spot may be a weakness unless Beavers balls out of his mind.

Hear me out. I think the giants will be better this year. I think that Danny Dimes will have a career best year this year and be improved, second year in Daboll/Kafka offense. Okereke hopefully improves the run d. The question is, how much better will they be? With how much harder their schedule is, they can actually have improved but end up with a worse record. They can’t go 0-4 vs eagles and cowboys and make the playoffs again this time around IMO. So, hopefully these improvements get them over the hump and they can at least beat the cowboys.

They'll be much better, but their record may not reflect this due to a brutal schedule. If they can pick off most of these premier teams, gain confidence, they could go all the way! Us fans have paid our dues. We are ready for some real Giants football!

Ore the past two years and what it Al is gonna come down to is how much better or worse the defense is and if they have a solid offensive line. SOLID. Not just good. No real surprises from camp so far for me. Saquon signing his deal has basically popped any air out of big news coming out of camp. Although I will say it looks like Cole Beasley is gonna make the team after it was thought he was just another body.
