My home -- Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Some of the volcanic scenery of the Azores (especially the rocky coastline) looks similar to here!

I lived on Terceira for several years in the early 70's. 32 Cruz, Praia de Vitoria. Explored those wood & every cave, funnel, and lava tube on the island ....long before they were tourist destinations. No lights, stairs, or railed walkways in the flumes/caves back then. Just me, a flashlight, and a rope. Try the Alcatra, finest beef dish on the planet.

I'm glad you decided to try the Alcatra! One of the best dishes here in the Azores. And Gui... Gui is a reflection of the Terceira Island people: happy, fun and relaxed people. Can't wait to see the other videos! I have close family in São Jorge so it will be nice to see the island again.

Both of my parents are from there, my mom is from Lajes and my dad from Raminho but I was born and raise in America. I loved to see my family my grandparents and my cousins but the humility is just too much😂 I’m used to northern Texas weather so next time I come I’m gonna get a hotel because I need the AC more than 2 foot thick walls.

I lived on Terceira, and the restaurant you ate at in this video is the best. This is where I went for my birthday and my going away party. Their Alcatra is the best and I miss it so much.

So I just returned from NYC less than a week ago. I'm a subscriber and love your NYC videos. I've the potential to go to the Azores next summer, specifically Terceira Island, a trip that is family related on my wife's side, with the alternative to go to Italy. I'll confess that I've got probably a half dozen places to visit and photograph in Italy. No matter, I searched for Terceira Island, and, well, Here Be Barr!
Jon, I watched this and the prior video, and I'm impressed on many levels. I love your NYC videos and certainly love NYC! It was fun watching you and Team Adriana in these two videos, and Gui seems like a great guide! I love local tour guides, having used locals in San Francisco and NYC in the past. Italy remains on the travel list, but I think Terceira is now on that list, too.

Since Gui was cut off, I will complete what he was trying to say. Plastic cups look like jellyfish, so sea turtles eat the plastic cups, and this is dangerous, if not deadly for sea turtles.

Really enjoying your videos. As far as travel videos go, you guys really "raise the Barr!"(no pun intended). Before you leave Terceira, you HAVE TO EAT at "Caneta" restaurant (north coast), and "Beira Mar" restaurant (S. Mateus, on the south coast).
I like him,he is a fun cool guide.I pick him,@Terceira.I think Sao Miguel, being the largest island,the guide could of taken you guys to more of our secrets places,like undiscovered places,so much more to do and see but the guide might of been casado (lazy)tired. lol

Otherwise use Azores Airlines for flights, it's not to pricey.
