- Two-year-old toddler Charlotte Garside from Hull weighs just 7lbs and still only fits into newborn baby clothes. When they first see her, people often think she is a doll. This little girl has the medical profession and her family baffled, because nobody yet knows why she is unable to grow normally. This documentary is close to a decade old. there were rumours on social media a few years ago that she had died, but a health report on her in 2021 shows her to still be alive and in good health.

Update for all who want to know: Charlotte passed away 4th May 2024 unexpectedly in her mother's arms, surrounded by her loved ones.

Got the nappy fire🔥red hair as well. I believe she is 16 or 17 now and still doesn't talk. Sad really. At least she's walking though. I just wish they'd help her out with brushing her hair every once & a while.

So glad that Charlotte is doing well. She seems so bright and alert, and such a magical little person, I think she has plenty more to influence on this planet for years to come. I'm scared to touch babies at all, have to sit on a chair and hold my arms out the way I would if I was holding a baby, then have someone else pick the baby up to put in my arms, basically like when a kid wants to hold a newborn baby and they're told to sit down and out their arms in that position and someone puts the baby in their arms, except I'm 36 and that's the only way I'll hold a baby, I'm terrified ill hurt them, either pick them up wrong or even drop them if I'm standing :/

The parents look completely different at the end. They were living with so much pain and fear, like they were already mourning her. So wonderful so see them so happy! The sisters are incredible, and I hope they spoke up about needing some one on one with Mom. And good on that other girl at the convention trying to help!

There is a circus for mini people ( hope I am using the right terminology) and some how I remember seeing her as a resident and actress. Will check on it, I may be mistaken, apologies if my memory fails me.

Since I was a child, I’ve always known I never wanted children for a MILLION reasons. My child dying before me is one of the biggest ones. I just wouldn’t be able to go on. So I’ve done what I can to help existing children. I hope to leave this world better than it was given to me by way of protecting innocent life. Innocents are animals, children, disabled, and elderly.

@@tigerslear - It was super thoughtful of you to attach the link to this video, but it’s 6 years old, so it doesn’t reflect her life today. I think she’s around 15 y/o now. As far as I can tell, she’s alive and well….although somewhere around 2012 a woman in the US who shared Charlottes full name passed away, which led to a lot of people assuming that this Charlotte Garside was the one who passed away. There are still articles from around that time which claim that she’s dead, making it difficult to suss out whether she’s in fact still alive. But based on 2022 reporting, it’s more likely she’s alive - there just doesn’t seem to be a definitive answer, supported by family, close friends, or anyone directly familiar with her medical condition.
I hope she will be OK and grow up to adulthood she is so sweet God Bless her it must be so stressful and worrying for her parents
Just watching this documentary and then googling Charlotte, and its heartbreaking to know that she passed away in May 2024, but also amazing that she got to go to school and have friends and enjoy her short life as much as possible, and also amazing that people got to enjoy her for a little longer than first imagined. There were messages from the parents of her friends from school saying about how the kids used to talk about Charlotte all the time, which is lovely to know.

My baby girl was less then 2lbs at birth and deal with constant bullying at school. She’s not 9 but she’s the size of a 4 year old. :( and every years kids return after summer break bigger and she’s the same size. I wish parents would talk more to their kids about everyone being different . My daughter already has it rough enough with nonstop dr appt and constant blood work body scans etc. she doesn’t need to deal with mean kids in addition . I wish teachers and principals would offer more support …. But life isn’t fair.

I have a granddaughter who had growth restrictions in the womb. At 38 weeks she was only 3lbs 4oz. She is very slow to grow. She looks proportional and grows slowly but she's fairly normal with her milestones. She's 3 and a half but only weighs 20 pounds. She has other problems, but she's happy and well loved. I can't imagine having a child like Charlotte, though you take what your given and love them regardless. She has a wonderful family.

I'm an aide in an elementary school. There's a student who is 10 years old, but looks 4. Everytime I see her I want to go pick her up because she is so adorable. I don't because we treat her as any other student.

When I gave birth to my oldest child she was 6wks early. So she went to the NICU
There was a baby there as small as Charlotte.. born at 1lb .. some odd oz.
No one ever came to visit her.
I've always remembered and wondered about her.
Her name was Ashley and I hope all was well. My daughter left before she did.
She had already been there for 4mo. before my daughter was born and she still weighed less than my daughter did who only weighed 5lbs 13oz. Ashley was up to 4lbs when we left.
It was heartbreaking that no one was there for her.
13 yrs is a relief. That is so sad but hopefully medicine can catch. Adelia Rose just passed away. Loved that girl,she was 13. RiP beautiful girl!

Charlotte is a young lady now with teen age girls feelings, she is not a little doll,so I wish people eoukdnt refer to her in that way, I wish her all the best in life,she deserves it,she us courageous. I was ugly was never invited out by boys as a teenager,that hurt,and ni matter pretty ir ugly the fact is you fall in love, never married till very late in life, hope Charlotte has a very happy healthy life ,but fear the poor dear will have to suffer the pangs of unrequited love, perhaps people with dear Charlotte's complaint don't mature sexually,let's hope its so for Charlotte, spare her the hurt of never marrying.
