I like that this radio achieves no popping when changing bands without completely muting the device and a one second delay. To me that seems properly sorted out and less like taking a short cut.
I sold my original XHDATA D-808 and regretted it. I purcashed the Sihuadon D-808 version a few months ago. BTW the CW station on 7012 was F5IN in France. Nice catch! Thanks Todd
Oh, thanks for the decode! I posted some great deals on the 808, going to post the black one here next. XHDATA gave me a special extra 5% off code to give my viewers.
My D-808 Literally got delivered a few hours ago. My first impressions are that it's a great radio, especially with the current discounts. I actually got my first SW radio earlier this year (XHDATA D-219) thanks to your video. The next radio I'm planning on getting is the Tecsun R9700DX.
Hej, yes, I also have the XHDATA D-219, a very nice radio for the price. I'm really impressed with how good the shortwave reception is on the XHDATA D-219, even though the shortwave bands are limited. But yes, the XHDATA D-219 is a great compact radio. Take care and have a nice day.
Hej Todderbert, thanks for the review. Oh yes, the XHDATA D-808 is a lovely radio. I love my Sihuadon D-808, but I'm going to buy this newer, upgraded version of the XHDATA D-808. Also, I have the original R-108 (Radiowow), but I'm also going to buy the newer R-108. As you know, Todderbert, Nils is a radio lover, and I buy a lot of radios, but I can say that both the XHDATA D-808 and the Sihuadon R-108 are wonderful radios that I really like, and the little R-108 has a great sound too. Take care Todderbert and have a nice Friday evening.
Todd I started with the D219 for a little over $9 and really like it. But I wanted something I could tell what frequency I was on. So I just purchased the D109-WB for $38 on Amazon. I have only used it 1 time so far, but I also have the D808 in my sights for later on as well.
I started with the D-109WB, and I’m really happy with it. The D-808 gets widespread positive reviews, and seems to clearly be a good radio. When you do get that new radio fever I suggest you also look at the Qodosen DX-286. Cheaper than the D-808 and amazingly sensitive.
@Alex_Willis I love my D219. Only thing I wish it had was a LED screen so you could actually see what frequency you were on. But the reception is fantastic.
@@Rodneys-Firewood-Creations agree. I think sometimes the display can interfere with the signal so that may be why they didn't do it. But maybe on a future model!
How does the D-808 air band compare to the Eton Elite Executive? Despite living in a south-facing Chicago high-rise apartment, I seldom receive air signals from the Elite. I can see traffic in and out of Midway, and although there's an occasional building, I have a clear line of sight to the aircraft. Unless I'm using the Elite improperly, I'd say it performs poorly at air band.
The D-808 works rather well, but the transmissions are short. You have to look up frequencies and check that they are active. Usually day time. I personally use a dedicated scanner, then pull the actives from it and put it on the radio. Both the D-808, and my Eton work well on the AIR band.
Looks like 👍 a radio 📻 packed with features. Ya can probably DX with it. Too bad 👎 ya can't watch UA-cam on it. Happy Thanksgiving (Gobble Gobble). Your friend, Jeff!!

Le XHDATA-D808 est une super petite radio très sensible et d'une grande sélectivité . 73' F4JMU Serge

very nice radio.!!! I also have a XHDATA D-219 which I am very happy with.

The R-108 is nice for portability, if you don't need SSB.

The Digitech Audio is just the XHDATA in a plastic box, but available only in Australia. I don't know why it is not launched globally...
I love the current version, black with amber. That gray case just didn’t do it for me.

I have had great success using the D-808 in the Chicago area for air band.
Is this the radio that's a clone of the CCrane Skywave SSB2 but minus the weather band?
This radio came first. Not a clone. I believe the Digitech unit was first.
@@todderbert -> Ah, OK. But there *is* a clone of the Skywave out there, right?
@@LTHanlonThe XHData/Sihuadon R-108 looks very similar to the CC Skywave.
@@LTHanlon for the regular one, the Elpa, and some can make the argument the R-108, though it uses a different, tecsun style preset format.

By the way, I live about 150 miles SW of Chicago. I am 40 miles NW of Peoria IL. Just thought i would throw that out there.
