Yes, relying on the force of gravity. Which is quite a common configuration in most house or commercial premise (in Malaysia). Shower heads will function, but if it's "Rain shower" or big shower heads, definitely you need a booster water pump.

My plumber says it's due to small pipe diameter connecting from my water tank. He suggests to make a bypass, so tat my master tank gets direct water from the main pipe. When there is water supply cut, the valve will automatically switch to tank supply. This sounds very good to me. My only concern is, will the water in the water tank become stale or dangerous if unused for a long time?
You've got a point here. Long stored water still can be used for general cleaning, but definitely not for kitchen application. How about installing a water pump to increase the water pressure?
For SS Tank, you need to have a good air ventilation area, thus open or external space to prevent chlorine build up. Below rooftop, if it is not airy, it will cause issues.

Sounds like your last diagram. However, I am not sure what you mean by do a “by-pass” from pump to existing piping. Can you elaborate with a diagram. Also, for hot water system, is it better to have centralised tank power by electric/solar or individual electric unit.
The biggest challenge for installing a water tank at the ground level, is you need to install a water pump to continue supplying incoming water into the whole house. And, if there's no electricity, the water pump will not operate. As contingency place, I would suggest doing a "bypass" line from the water meter (source) directly to the "house", leveraging on the existing pressure from water source. Personally, I have a solar heater for hot water supply to all my bathrooms and kitchen. Absolutely, love it! High initial cost, but it's cheaper in long run. However, the problem that I have faced so far is 1. The leaking of the hot water tank (attached with the solar panel), which was luckily under product warrant. 2. During raining seasons, I need to constantly switch on the heater. 3. The hot water temperature/ supply may varies, so you need to constantly adjust the mixer.
The sturdiness or loading in term of steel structure design will be under manufacturer's warranty. Each of the water tank is design to support its loading in example 1000L for 1000kg. With this, you just have to make sure that your base slab able to support this.

Most of the time, it's prohibited. By doing so, some of your neighbors will have low water pressure supply. If the incoming has no water, definitely will exhaust your pump.

So my question for now is , is the tank need to be at the middle of the space just like where they place the PE tank ? Or i can just fit my SS tank at the corner of the space to free up some space ? Is there any regulation that i need to follow ?
First, you need to identify the current capacity of the PE tank, by referring to the emboss printing on the body. Then, you can choose similar or bigger size of SSWT and model too. Subjected to the structure design, but it's not much issue to move the water tank around within the loading area.

I believe that direct water supply for the kitchen is the best, to ensure the quality of water (avoid any external contaminations) for our consumption. However, I have also seen the configuration, where the water was being stored in a storage tank before being pump into the house.
For the 2nd answer, you need to create a bypass channel directly from the water source (water meter) to the main pipe lines into your house. This will involve installing ball valves. For example, if you electric cut off, you need to close the valve into your water pump, and open the valve for the bypass channel. This will allow water to flow from the main into your house, just like any "original" setting.
You may use PE tank as well. Many are not aware of this, but most of the PE Tank manufacturers provide 10 years warranty on their products too. T&C Apply also.
Hi, thanks for the video. I have a water tank installed at ground level and use grundfos scala2 to pump the water up to my two storey house. The pump will run in cycle and shows leakage error if I use any tap or bathroom fittings from the roof tank but OK if I use taps from direct pipe to the pump. My contractor has replaced the roof tank float valve but still gives me the same error. Could you advise me? Thanks so much

They told me the float valve keep going up and down that cause the leakage error and the tank or fitting connected to the tank probably leaks. To test it, after my contractor replaced the float valve of the roof tank, I did not use any fittings connected to the roof tank for 24 hours and scala2 is humming along fine. I was wondering with your extensive knowledge in tank (my is a plastic tank on the roof which is 27 years in used), some creative solution could be suggested. Thanks so much.
@@oineed To be honest, I will suggest to replace a new water tank. The unstable connection of the float valve against the PE (plastic) tank surface might have triggered the pump. And, there is possibility that Scala 2 is "over" powerful for your pipe lines, which again will cause your float valve to vibrate "uncontrollably".
@@oineed I have seen some plumber use this trick. Bend the arm of the float valve downwards to increase the gaps between the "float ball" and the inlet. Of course, this will also reduce your nominal storage capacity. Hope this helps!

Was 29PSI, but I adjusted it at the AirSelangor meter for the tank, (3) this I don't know, as my contractor installed this for me. However, I see that the arm of the float valve is not bent, so I could get more water from my king kong tank, I assume again.

It depends,, if you water tank is located at the roof level, even without using a water pump, water will be in sufficient pressure mode to flow to all your bathrooms. However, if it is located at the ground level, you need a water pump to pressurize the water for supply.
Hi would like to ask an opinion. I have only one stainless steel water tank placed on roof not in confined space. The tank supplies to 2 bathrooms upstairs. For downstairs kitchen and bathrooms is direct from filter after the meter. I have a water pump installed after the tank to fix the slow pressure to the bathrooms and the pressure is fast but, when i open one faucet in bathroom, the water flow is not steady as it pulses. If i open the tap fully than only its fast, but i cant open fully as the pressure is too fast. lets say the spray gun faucet if i open fully it also pulses, that sometimes can hear banging noise from the pipes on ceiling. if the water flow is steady than there is no noise. this problem has been experienced for years that my plumber tried fixing but still face the problem. I thought it was maybe water hammer but i have this water pulsing which is not smooth unless i open 2 faucet at same time than only the water flow steady. Any advice what it could be

I am planning to install ground storage tank and a pump to pump it up to the roof top tanks, with a bye-pass, so that direct supply to the roof top and kitchen can be maintained when pressure is good. Please advice the type of ss tank (grd storage) and the pump. Can I use horizontal tank on a base frame sitting on a plinth?

There's no specific ratio. Most customer will pick a smaller tank, because of space. But I would suggest the same size as above tank.

Please voice out the issue to Grundfos, they will come for inspections. It has 2 years warranty, if I have not mistaken.

It depends,, if you water tank is located at the roof level, even without using a water pump, water will be in sufficient pressure mode to flow to all your bathrooms. However, if it is located at the ground level, you need a water pump to pressurize the water for supply.

Hi would like to ask an opinion. I have only one stainless steel water tank placed on roof not in confined space. The tank supplies to 2 bathrooms upstairs. For downstairs kitchen and bathrooms is direct from filter after the meter. I have a water pump installed after the tank to fix the slow pressure to the bathrooms and the pressure is fast but, when i open one faucet in bathroom, the water flow is not steady as it pulses. If i open the tap fully than only its fast, but i cant open fully as the pressure is too fast. lets say the spray gun faucet if i open fully it also pulses, that sometimes can hear banging noise from the pipes on ceiling. if the water flow is steady than there is no noise. this problem has been experienced for years that my plumber tried fixing but still face the problem. I thought it was maybe water hammer but i have this water pulsing which is not smooth unless i open 2 faucet at same time than only the water flow steady. Any advice what it could be
First, may I know what is the brand & model of the water pump? 2nd, what is the type and size of the piping supply before and after the water pump? (The size should be printed on the pipes)

Hello, I have a quick question, let's say I do have a water tank on the roof of my house and I would like to add a tankless water heater, how do I go about that? The pump is pulling water from the reservoir up to the tank correct, now wheres does the hot water heater gets connected????
Can you let me know more information on the tankless water heater? Are you referring to those instant water heater installed in the bathrooms?

Hello Khor Geh, (do I get the name correct, sorry if I don't).
My house is on a small hill. Main ws pressure is often insufficient to reach roof top tank.
I am planning to install ground storage tank and a pump to pump it up to the roof top tanks, with a bye-pass, so that direct supply to the roof top and kitchen can be maintained when pressure is good.
Please advice the type of ss tank (grd storage) and the pump. Can I use horizontal tank on a base frame sitting on a plinth?
I think it's workable. And yes, you can sit the base frame on a plinth but make sure it's able to support the distributed loading.

Why stainless steel water tank must not placed in a confined place (in the roof) and must in a airy place?
Water contains chlorine, and will evaporate and accumulate at the bottom of the cover, which then cause corrosion.
@@ATKCeWarehouse What if we put good ventilation (turbine ventilator) to reduce heat and improve air flow at the roof where the stainless steel water tank is placed. Will it help to reduce corrosion?
