Shout out to making a video the old school way; raw, no awkward jump cuts or transitions, kid blabbing in the back ground, and to the point. Thanks man for the info. Trying to make a loft ladder
I can't thank you enough! After watching So Many videos and still not getting the geometry thing your explanation was so simple and straightforward. After struggling for days I was done in an hour after your instructions!
Hey don't know if/when you'll read this but thank you for this superb video, used it pretty much step by step to make a new loft ladder. Thanks man, timeless and brilliant
Thanks a ton. I used this as a template and it worked great. Only improvement for me would to make that first step from the top a normal height. Its too short and awkward having a 3-4" step at the top. Great stuff!
This was a great video. I am making my own video on how to build a playset and I am going to reference this video on how to build the steps. Nice job explaining the speed square.
Thank you!! The speed square explanation was great and I absolutely love how you explained making the angles on the ladder! I used that info to make my ladder and everything matched perfectly! woohoo!
I'm out in the woods building a tree stand ladder and can't figure out the Exact angel to cut for this ladder that is 16' to the top. I could eye ball it but I was thinking there has to be a better way to figure out the angle. And I came home and found your DIY ladder video and it was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Even the app was a great idea. So now when I go back out to my stand I'll have what I need. Thanks soooo much for explaining it in simple terms.
Excellent video. I'm actually looking forward to my next project now after this instruction! I particularly like your craftmanship way of taking the time to drill decent pilot holes is an often overlooked but important step. Takes very little extra time to do it right, right?
At 1:20, you shouldn't be measuring the length before cutting the angle on the bottom of the board so the ladder is sitting flat on the ground. Other than that, great video, and was a great help!
Great video content! Apologies for butting in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you thought about - *WoodBlueprints. Com* It is an awesome exclusive guide for building better sheds and woodworking without the normal expense. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my mate at very last got astronomical success with it.?
Thank you Ryan for releasing a great product as this [ Check Details Here?> *WoodBlueprints. Com* ]. Most of the plans I have imagined in my mind are put down on your woodworking plans. This is more like a genius job. I love it!?
I love it, but I just think you should have made the steps about 6 to 8 in for children, and they're tiny legs. I don't think I need an OSHA ladder. Heh.

Doing bunk beds for kids and want to build similar set of stairs, great video thanks👍🏽
02:08 Wow! I’ve been using a speed square for years and never understood what these markings meant until now!
Thank you! So simple when you know 👍🏻
You are so welcome!
Thank you! Finally, someone explained how to use a speed square where it makes sense to me.👍🏻
Carla Dowell yay! 👍🏻That's exactly what we are aiming for with these videos! Thanks for watching 😀

So glad the video helped!
Wasn’t sure how to do this without a router. So simple! Thanks.

Appreciate you taking the time to demonstrate this! Big time help. Thank you sir!
You bet!
How did you determine where to make the 90 degree cut so the ladder would sit flush on the playset ?
Just built this ladder today. Thanks to this video. Very well done, thank you!!
built a ladder just like this today for my kids playset, thank you!
Okie Diy you have NO idea what a lifesaver this vid was for me this weekend! Many thanks to you, good sir!
Nate Clark glad it helped you out!
Good job man. You put that speed square to work for real!. Kids will be very happy.
what a great video - simple explanations and easy to follow tips
Thank you for the kind words!

Thank you so much for your nice job.
Actually I like the American craftmans when they build up things.
Accept my regards from Iraq.
Thank you!!
Great video, helped me tremendously. Thank You!
Wish I seen this before I built my ladder but I still learned with you. But I want to use for another project!♥️♥️♥️
That's great!
I just built a ladder using the same technique you did and it worked great. Thank you!
Glad it helped!
Thanks so much for this! I have to tackle building a ladder this weekend and you've explained it much better than my plans did!!
Keegan Yaroch thank you! And good luck with your project!!
I love how your baby gives you instructions. :)
Mau ro that happens a lot!! 😀
Thank youuuu for this content. Was definitely thinking how to do something like this easily. New supporter 😍😍😍
Thanks for the great video! We just built this exact same one for our girls and we referred several times to this video.
Chris Turner yay! That's so great to hear! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for doing this. It is very instructional.
Ayo Adediji thanks for watching! So glad our video helped 😀
Great and helpful tutorial!!Good daddy too!! 😁
Great video very clear. My one question is how did you determine how far apart (13") to put the steps?
I believe we looked at an existing ladder that we already had.
Superb.... thank you. Just dowloaded an angle finder app! Great...
Thank you sooooooo much...Great video..great information!!!
So glad it helped! Thanks for subscribing!
Good job....nice technique.
When you make the final 90 degree at the top how do you decide where to place the square?
Excellent video. I'm actually looking forward to my next project now after this instruction! I particularly like your craftmanship way of taking the time to drill decent pilot holes is an often overlooked but important step. Takes very little extra time to do it right, right?
nice vid. what kind of wood? do u need any protective coating? shellac or lacquer?
Many thanks used this video to build some for our grandkids playhouse
Awesome! Glad we could help!
Great video thanks!
Wish you would have explained the 90 degree cut because once you make it it shortens every thing
Were you able to get an answer to this?
At 1:20, you shouldn't be measuring the length before cutting the angle on the bottom of the board so the ladder is sitting flat on the ground. Other than that, great video, and was a great help!
My brian doesnt understand how the top corner of the step is flush with the side rails? Did you bevel cut the front face of the step?
Yeah, he skipped a major step here.
Thank you! Was wondering the same thing.
says in another comment that he used a table saw for the bevel on the treads

Do you have a video on how you built the rest of the playset, especially the railing?
The play set is pretty much done, but we can definitely make a video that walks you through the steps! Great suggestion!
C M don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already, so you'll be updated when we post it! 😀
How long do you think it would take to build a 10' ladder like this?
What did you use to bevel the treads?
Table Saw
what size lumber did you use for all this?
We used 2x8s
I thought you doing the math but sounded like a kid was giving you all the answers off camera. Great video!
What app did you use for your protractor? I’m having a difficult time sifting through all the apps.
Try apple’s app. Mine was included and didn’t have to download. The app is called measure, then select “level”. I just tried it. Hope this helps.
I think it was the first one off the Android Store.
Thank you Ryan for releasing a great product as this [ Check Details Here?> *WoodBlueprints. Com* ]. Most of the plans I have imagined in my mind are put down on your woodworking plans. This is more like a genius job. I love it!?
Did you use galvanized screws?
They were coated.
What's the height of the floor of the playhouse? Am debating between making a treehouse 6 feet tall or 5 feet tall...
It's a tad over 5 ft.
I love it, but I just think you should have made the steps about 6 to 8 in for children, and they're tiny legs. I don't think I need an OSHA ladder. Heh.
2x6's for everything?
I notice that a lot of your screws go into the end grain. I am concerned how this would hold up to constant climbing. How has this lasted?
I drilled pilot holes to prevent splitting. Ladder is holding up great so far.
I believe it would have been stronger to cut the support blocks long ways with the grain of board instead of cross ways the grain

You're probably right. 4 Years later and no problems though!
I hear you have a little help with your measuring.........
Hi, name if the app protactor?
Diego Hernández can't remember at the moment. But there are quite a few and any of them will work just fine.
Okie Diy thks I really appreciate it !!
Thank you
You're welcome
So steady...

My adventure with woodworking started with Woodglut.
Woodglut comes with very useful plans with all the details you need.
In my first work I always used Woodglut plans.
Woodprix plans are amazing!
Great to see it. I did it too. The plans from Woodglut helped me a lot :)
Hmmm... I finally followed Ann's advice and took woodglut instructions. It's great for beginners and has some advanced stuff too.
