We have a chicken , 🐓 that sucker eats everything . Spiders , scorpions , bugs , all ... lol
@@healingnarcissism_ isn't it too hot for the chicken? the only thing alive are scorpions lol
I guess chickens are less scary than scorpions . Welp time to get a pet chicken 🐓
If I learned scorpions lived near me I'd buy armor. I wouldn't even want to have the slightest possible chance to get attacked by those demons
Very informative! Harry at Ozone helped me, from the other side of the country, get rid of ants that I get every summer no matter how clean the kitchen is.I followed his instructions and finally....no more ants.I had tried every product I could get my hands on! Thumbs up!
We have lots of scorpions and seeing this really will help me out, other videos just say spray this spray that this one is way different.
Regarding the weep screed. Alot of times, when this is necessary, the gap between the edge and the stem wall is up to a half an inch. So sealing it closes a big gap leaving the tiny holes which would could possibly allow baby scorpions. It's not 100% fool proof . This is a combination of alot of little things that help protect the home from pests
I remember when my wife got stung she panicked and screamed, I stomped the scorpion dead and then asked my wife for her life insurance policy. She was not amused LOL. Living back in the middle of the city in South Phoenix we no longer have a scorpion issue. Best stuff for scorpion is the scorpion sprays and Delta Dust in the cracks and crevices.
I’m a stucco contractor here in Las Vegas NV....moved to a new house on the other side of town...tons of bark scorpions...just got stung last night by a baby in my bedroom....I sealed the weep holes in the fha weep on my home...I then drill several small 1/16” holes so water can weep but even very small scorpions can’t get through. As being in Las Vegas, we seldom get rain and it’s so dry here any water would have gotten trapped evaporates very fast. If you live in a wet and humid climate, I don’t recommend sealing the weep holes. Just my 2cents....keep them little devils out.
* 1/16” holes so the water WOULD weep (and not be trapped)
Sad...
Thank you all. We made this video to help peiple out. There is also a product called "Silka flex". It is sold in Home Depot and is used to fill in the expansion joints at the edge of the home, garage door threshold. This is also a prime area for all bugs to hide.
Thank you.
Harry Davis how much do you charge
After doing some research, it appears that silicone doesn't have the best adhesive properties when compared to regular polyurethane caulk (on porous surfaces). Was the decision to use that in this video simply because it dries on clear?
Why don't builders use products for siding that scorpions can't climb?
Cause that's expensive and requires lots of work and projects!
I've seen the use of plexi-glass and smooth metal sheets around the bottom perimeter of homes. Apparently, the scorpions cannot climb smooth surfaces such as glass and metal
NOW WE HAVE THIS!!!! AMAZING new product we offer: ua-cam.com/video/3XAfU9DAQaY/v-deo.html
A bigger home in Arizona looks like there's a lot of ground to cover. Planning to buy in Kingman or Phoenix, will definitely give you guys a call to scorpion proof the place.
I use a professional pest control company and the stuff they use is great. Dead or close to death every time. Great tips by the way.
I am glad you use a Pest Professional. Licensed Pest Pros, as we are also, are a great asset. I try to give little tid bits of information to my customers, as well as the "do it yourselfer". Not all of the companies out there are in it just for the money. Alot of us really care for our customers and our community.
Thank you for viewing our video. Continued success to you with your pest control company.
Very informative. Thought we had a roach problem in our Singapore flat only to realize they fled into our home due to fogging downstairs. Tried sealing entrances after wiping them out and haven't seen a roach since.
Yea!!! Happy to hear it. A couple of other things that have been added since this video first posted would be screening the air vents. We cut regular screen to size of vents and adhere it to the inside of the vent. Replace cover and seal around the outside.
Also, the week holes at bottoms of Windows can be sealed up with a screen over the little hole. This still allows for drainage and doesn't allow pests in
We will be posting other videos for all the D.I.Y people out there.
Thank you!!
Ozone Pest Control that's actually a really good idea. :)
This will help in preventing the Scorpions from having another nesting spot. It will also help in preventing their food source from nesting in the joints. The tools and advice are just that, tools. There is no way to TOTALLY eliminate all of the Scorpions and pests. By using the ideas in the video, I hope to educate people to help them.
We've lived in North Central Phoenix for 30+ years and never had a scorpion outside or inside. Then last year our new next door neighbor got stung in their house. A couple of weeks later we found a scorpion in our guest bathroom and then one in the master bath. Exterminator called and our scorpion problem went away. Have only seen one other and was dead.
Our friend who live at Glendale and Central in Phoenix have fought scorpions the whole time they have lived there. A lot of construction and remodeling going on in their hood which seems to get the scorpions rolling.
Have them call us. We have a new product that we paint on the exterior stem wall and it prevents 100% of all Scorpions and some pests from even crawling on and eventually into the house. Dries clear and adds a clear coat, kind of like womens clear nail polish. Dries smooth so pests cant crawl up and in.
When you’re putting the silicone thing in cracks it is so visually pleasing. People should watch this instead of cutting soap bars 🧼 lol
amazingly informative thank you so much for taking the time to make this highly informational video greatly appreciated looking forward to more content in the future definitely subscribing hope everyone's day is going swell stay focused stay positive stay strong good things are in stow troubles never last yet the will always survives you can do it !
Should I also seal the cracks in the blocks? My wall wasn’t exactly put together by the best masons in town unfortunately.
Thank you for watching the video. We have added and thru experience, changed some parts of how we do this service.
Added: Expansion joints outside are now sealed to keep pests out of them. Expansion joints are those foam strips that cross most thresholds of the garage and exterior concrete. We remove them and seal with a self leveling product. Nice clean sealed joint is what you are left with.
Also added, we seal all of the can lights as well as all of the plumbing vent pipes and bathroom vent pipe. We go into the attic and seal where they exit thru the roof. Preventing g Scorpions from entering the attic.
We also added an initial pest spray for all customers getting a Scorpion seal.
Allot of extras have been added.
Please give us a call if you find you need help.
What does an average single story 1500 sq ft house run? I've don't most of the lights, things that connect to the house but I'm a rather large guy so the up high/ attic and down low things are hard for me. We are in a just over 1 year old home and have started seeing scorpions outside and one inside. With a 2 year old it's got us looking for houses in other states!
Do you also seal drains and toilets ? Snakes spiders scorpions come up through those pipes also right ? Have seen so many videos where snakes and scorpions are coming from holes of jacuzi and tubs and so many videos snakes coming up toilet way and biting ppl ..
Does white silicone prevent it from entering?!
@rayanal-mahmde7545 we do not use white silicone on the outside. It goes on white and dries clear. The inside product is white because it is cleaner, and typical for what matches inside. Color has no baring on effectiveness.
We no longer do this labor intensive job. We now have a product that gets put on the stem wall and prevents Scorpions from even being able to get on the house.
Simon you are absolutely right. Education of the public and our customers is so important. There are companies out there that will prey on the fears of the general public. Just this passed weekend, one of our new techs was stung at his own house picking up clothes off the floor. He reported, just as you said. Some pain at the poI'mnt of the sting, some minor swelling, but nothing as bad as he hears. I am sure this is not the case for everyone, but neither is death by Bark Scorpion.
Thank you for you comments in helping further educate the public.
Thanks so much for the awesome video! I have some serious sealing to do. The Sikaflex product also looks awesome for sealing the huge gaps in concrete by the garage threshold and front door. Super helpful!
I use cedar oil around the outside of my house and spray into the floor vents as this seems to be where they are coming in or hiding. It's nontoxic and works great
Cedar oil works. Wouldn't you rather not use anything.
We now have a new level Scorpion proofing that is applied with a paint brush to the exterior base of the home. It prevents Scorpions from even being able to crawl on the house. It dries hard, clear and smooth. Scorpions can't climb up smooth surfaces.
ua-cam.com/video/3XAfU9DAQaY/v-deo.html
Thanks for the info! I have lived in my house for some years and never had a problem, then one day they start coming out of now where. What the hell would cause that? I was told they're looking for food, but it's winter and no other bugs around.
There could be a couple if reasons for this. New construction in the area. New landscaping in your yard or neighbors yard. A home near by had a pest control clean out service and has flushed them out. Weather changes. There are lots of possibilities including it just being time for the Scorpions to eat.
Best of luck to you. Advise if we can assist.
Thank you
They live in your walls..
This will be our first summer at a new house in AZ... hopefully I'm being paranoid but I'm gonna seal up asap before it warms up. 😱
Well now you have a DIY guide to help you along. There are a couple of other things, that we do, that are not in the video, so if you need some more pointers, email us and we will gladly point you in the right direction.
Now, even after doing all of this, they still can get in through open doors, windows etc, so it is not 100% fool proof.
You may want to invest in a black light flash light. You can buy them in just about every gas station, Walmart or Walgreen's. Check your yard at night, along the walls etc. They will glow when hit with a black light. The more you kill outside, the less you will see inside.
Good luck
@@healingnarcissism_ Not yet! Last year, our first summer in AZ, at our old place we never had any inside... just maybe one in the yard if you went looking for them with a blacklight. Hopefully, this new house will be the same!
I think sealing the skirt around the bottom of the stucco is a waste. Baby scorps will get in those weep-holes anyway. Then they eat all the other bugs in the crawl-space/attic get big, and drop down through a ceiling fan or vent gap into the house. I am sealing all the vent gaps and putting screen material over them on the inside of the vent cover. Then sealing all the pipes and replacing the door sweep on the front door. Everything else is sealed well. I'm kind of glad I have no garage anymore.
That's your opinion and you are entitled to it. This is not a cure all, and shows only SOME of what we do. We seal the entire home. Nothint gets in from the attic when we are done. We have customers that start out seeing up to 6 a day. After we are done, they report not seeing any.
Thank you for your comment and good luck to you.
You are absolutely correct. We dont seal the holes, just the edge. We are in AZ and like you get very little rain. Your idea is an awesome one, but there are "holes in it" as well. Pardon the pun. We have homes where the stucco is buried by gravel etc and we cant even see it to seal it. Let alone drill holes to let water drain.
Thank you for your insight.
How would you seal a sliding door? It seems we have a small space where the 2 doors overlap. we just saw our first scorpion tonight near that slider and it bit our cat.
I put scorpion tape along our sliding doors. We would catch them in the sticky tape. I also use the stick traps in the garage and door entrances.
Thank you for this very comprehensive and informative video. Will definitely put into action all the great tips you provided!
Fai Le
Thank you. We wish you much success.
Can scorpions not crawl on the vent itself? is it too slick?
How do you prevent them from entering the attic louvers on each side of the house?
Rocknevada There should be a screen in the lovers. If not you can by a tight mesh screen in back of the louvers and tack it along the opening.
Great video. Comprehensive suggestions.
For caulk why not try to match the paint for the hone owner if caulk visible?
Thank you for watching our video. Also, thank you for your suggestion. We try to use the silicone that dries clear, however it does have a sheen.
We actually have stepped up our Scorpion proofing with a new product that actually keeps Scorpions as well as some other bugs TOTALLY OFF THE HOUSE!!!
Check out this short video to see:
ua-cam.com/video/3XAfU9DAQaY/v-deo.html
What is the point of sealing around the vents if the scorpions can just crawl through the actual vents? Those are definitely thicker than a credit card.
The vents are a closed air system, and the Scorpions should not be able to enter through the vent itself. However, where the vent touches the drywall, there is usually a gap. Sometimes this gap is up to a half inch wide. We pull the vent covers and seal that gap.
In the case where it is a air vent, for say a bathroom. The ones controll by a switch on the wall. We remove vent cover, screen off vent and then replace. We then seal the edge with silicone. Completely sealing vent.
There is a new way of doing all of this now and it is a product that we paint on the stem wall that makes it impossible for Scorpions to even get onto the home, let alone get in.
I hope I answered your question.
Do you also seal drains and toilets ? Snakes spiders scorpions come through pipes also right ?
It's unfortunate that the most dangerous types of scorpions and there are only about 25 species that pose a threat to human health happen to be the smallest, not all though but the desert bark scorpion has a potent venom that leaves a victim in extreme pain for anything up to 48hrs. symptoms vary from nausea, muscle spasms, difficulty breathing and of course agonising pain. To be honest they only sting as a defense usually when pressure is applied to them, ie when they get accidentally caught up in clothing, brushed against or when an unfortunate person forgets to check their footware before putting them on (a sting to the foot is hell!) I think you'll find the vast majority of scorpions in that part of the world are not regarded as dangerous but will give you a painful sting nonetheless. More people are killed by bee and wasp stings due to anaphylaxis from a severe reaction than from scorpions.
Does putting down bug killer on your yard help fight off the scorpions? Thank you for the video, great job.
There are pesticide products, that when used according to the label, can be used to kill Scorpions. It is a myth that there is nothing that will kill a Scorpion.
Thank you
very informative video, thank u.
I have a lot of sealant work to do! I was considering placing a "skirt" of very slick / smooth tiles - using very fine grout lines around the house from the ground to just below the windows. Have you seen anyone do this in an aesthetically pleasing manner? Would it work as a deterrent to wall climbers?
I have not seen this done. I am sure, due to the slick skirt of tiles, it would deter wall climbers. It just seems like an awful amount of work and a huge expense when you compare it to simply sealing the outside of the home. Most homes take 2 boxes of the silicone to seal a home, and maybe a day for the labor.
I'm in the California desert and I am wondering how much having someone come in and do a scorpion seal cost? I've had two different companies come and spray for the bugs and spiders and whatever outside and inside and I've complained to both of them constantly about the Scorpions and neither one of them ever offered anything like this.
We have a license in California as well. Can you email me at harry@ozonepestcontrol.com.
I will be able to answer all of your questions.
Thank you.
Great info. Now I can add this to my Honey Do List.
Charming chap. Thanks for posting
Can someone clarify why seal the weep screed when it has holes that defeat the purpose of sealing the gap? Wont the holes also provide access for scorpions to get inside the house?
There are screens over the holes.
Ima need a pest control to do my home before I buy it. Anyone in Avondale, AZ? 😅
What was the steal wool for?
Jessica Smith it is used to fill voids in various areas where you could not use large amounts of caulking.
I want to build a sandbox for my dog, but I'm afraid of scorpion's hiding in the sand. Any suggestions anyone???
Build out of glass or surface they can't climb on.
Do you guys service Tucson? More towards Marana?
Jason Pina , yes we do. Just call the office to schedule.
How much does it cost for ozone pest control to do all that
Before this work can be done, a full inspection needs to be done. The inspection is 65.09. If the job is approved we take the 65.00 if the job. The job is very time co aiming and it usually takes 2 people all day. Most jobs start at 950.00.
How often should you do this to your home?
This is a pretty thorough service that should only need to be done once.
How much to do in and out of a home about 2179 sqft?
Iron Llama I wish it was that easy. First it's not based on square feet. 2 homes with the exact square feet will not be the same price. The price is based on what actually needs to be done. This is not a cookie cutter service, so it requires a full inspection. Inspection is 65.00 but that cost gets removed from the final bill if work is done.
The video only, purposely, shows part of what we do. It does not show all of the work in the attic, or what we do to the windows, or even how we have changed and added what we do to the vents.
If this is something you are considering, I will tell you this. If you are only seeing 1 or 2 a summer, you probably won't see the value.
thank you sir!
how much does it cost to do this sealing in all the house 1900 sf

SCORPIONS in YA HOUSE?!?!?!?!?! THE FUCK, IM NEVER going to America
where is their a place with out them I need to plan my move o.o
Arushi Singh I was going to invite you out to have dinner with me too...lol
Arushi Singh it isn't everywhere in American mostly Arizona I saw millions of them in my house but in California I see none
Great video!
Thank you very much. We hope it helps you. This is just SOME of the things we do.
Great info👍
We have a new product out that is 100% Guarantee against Scorpions. You can leave your door wide open and they can't climb up the outside.
Can scorpions rip throughout the silicone?
Eduardo Ledezma
No. Scorpions can not "rip through the silicone".
Thank you for watching the video. We have added some other ways of sealing since this video.
Ha, ha, ha! If a scorpion can rip through, then we need shotguns!
No music please. Good video, otherwise.
Who would Want Any Type of Caulking, Plastered All Over Their Home, especially the WAY that some Slather it on.Why Don't the Builder's Have It Already Done, Before You Buy The Home ?
That is an awesome question. I, for 1, would be willing to pay the extra money to have all of this done during construction. This video is a small sample of what we do, so to have it already done by the builder would be awesome.
To answer why we do this. Well, there are a lot of people that are just not handy and they do slather the wrong products. Anything we put on the outside dries clear. It is neatly applied. Anything on the inside is a nice clean line and it is white.
We have more calls f[r this work that we decline, than what we do, because of travel distance. This was meant to be a how to for folks and it has turned into something bigger and better.
White caulk huh?
White caulk on the inside. Nice clean lines. Goes on white silicone on OUTSIDE ONLY, that dries clear. However, it does have a sheen to it. We are very neat and clean. We dont slather it al over.
If I seal all the plumbing and vents for inside the house then these damn things will be in the walls having babies.
The idea is to seal them out before they get in. You are correct, that if you seal the home and Scorpions are in the home, you will seal them in. We dust the attic, so any in the attic area will die. We also provide an initial pest control service to help kill any that may be in the house.
I have stated a couple times to others that this is not a "cure all". It is meant to show people most of what we do and to help the do it yourselfer to prevent Scorpions in the home.
I hope it helps you.
Ozone Pest Control great pointers yes. I was nearly saying if they get in from outside and you seal the inside they would be in the walls searching for other areas to get in. That was my initial thought. Will check with the clear caulk is great 👍🏻
Thanks, these buggers are a pain in the butt
