Without exposure to shows or LIVE Concerts, even popular songs fade away, along with the band. Thanks, AP, for keeping the legacy of Journey alive--

When y’all can sing Journey songs as good as this guy is for the last 17 years and at his age and not just sell arenas around the world, but to command that audience LIVE - then and only then will your opinions matter to me. AND some of us happen to love Arnel’s rendition of all the journey classics because his voice made these classic songs sound current, modern and relevant to younger audience and generation. His range of pitch and octaves during the chorus is impossible for 99.9% of singers now days. That is true talent. I’ve made it a point to go see them live this year at some point while they are still touring.

I'm a HUGE Arnel fan but it needs to be said that this performance is absolutely DROWNED in pitch correction software. That's not opinion, it's incredibly obvious to anyone who's ever used it for live performances. I dont really care-- if it makes it easier for him to get through the most vocally demanding catalog of songs around, then so be it. Hes an astonishing singer and performer, but these are NOT raw, unprocessed vocals. The software has improved so much in just the few years since this show that you'd almost never know if a performer was using it --and they nearly ALL do! Hell, if you had to sing Steve Perry songs for months on end under those lights while vaulting off risers, wouldn't you???

It's a lower key than it was written and Steve Perry sang it. I've yet to hear anyone (incl. Mariah Carey, whose voice I love, so I'm shading, or Celine Dion, or others) do it justice - let alone match or top Steve Perry singing it. It's deceptively difficult to sing, in its original key, and with the required combination of heft and agility. Steve Perry not everyone is. In fact, no one else is.
